(a few weeks later) BEFORE: Chastised Paula P looking to atone for debut-loss to veteran Ashley Scott: she's got another tough blonde veteran on tap. "I've learned my lesson," Paula says with rueful smile. "These girls can fight - somebody like Beau has tremendous talent and the difference between beating her and losing to her is razor thin. My mindset is the same as it was for Ashley - seek and destroy - but I think I've been a lot more thorough in my preparation this time." Garrett sympathizing with hot young prospect...Beau's been in that boat. "It's tough when you're a hot property, and there's all these expectations on you to win right out of the gate," Garrett says. "Doesn't always happen that way. I know that Patton's rocked by her loss to Ashley, and I'm going to use that negative momentum to keep hr down. It was done to me: now it's my turn to take advantage. Sucks to be Paula, but that's the game." Patton in purple bikini with orchid print; black gloves; high-gloss black hair smoothed behind ears. Beau in green sport top; green bikini bottoms with floral print; black gloves; hair loose.

During R1: Patton strong out of the gate, backing Beau up under whirling pressure. Blonde to ropes, forming peek-a-boo, trying to break up the onslaught by poking jabs from her brow to Paula's mouth. Patton pinning her ears back, eyes blazing, teeth bared....she's dipping side to side, hauling HaRD haymaking lefts and rights onto Beau G. Garrett badly buffetted, clobbered in the pocket...she clinches after a few blockbusters smash against her flanks. Ref pushes 'em apart - Paula right back on: brunette with a frightening, seething intensity when she's squared away and working. Garrett grimacing, battered behind her guard: heavy, shellacking blows bashing at her ribs; beating at her arms - trying to crash through to skull. More clinching from Beau; more ref's breaks; more Paula pushing back in...Garrett visibly loosening, starting get sloppy in the pocket! Patton starting to land walloping rights upside the head...Beau blinking in confusion, guard getting limp...Paula's slamming her way through! CRASHING right between the mitts knocks Beau's head back over top rope...she lolls forward, looking sleepy. Clubbing left to Beau's right ear; right uppercut on her chin...Beau relaxing into ropes, eyes glassy. Whacking right/left takes Beau in the body, crippling her: Paula reaches in under blonde arms, stacks Beau up, pushes off to keep pounding. Nothing fancy, just Paula's legs, buns and back powering a dreadful, nonstop whirlwind of punishment and DOWN GOES GARRETT! Beau going out on her feet, beaten numb by the relentless assault...she's on her back, parallel to ropes as ref bodies a bellowing Patton away. KO1 Paula P in raging fashion.

After: Patton back from defeat with a vengeance, shattering Beau's dreams of a kick-her-while-she's-down easy win. Paula still furious, scowling during postfight interview. "I just wanted to end Beau Garrett," Paula says. "I was hurting emotionally from what happened with Ashley, and I wanted to make someone else hurt...simple as that. I know there are a lot of good fighters in the FCBA, but make no mistake: I'm too strong for these girls. When I get revved up, I'm awfully hard to stop. Beau Garrett's not the first blonde name I'm going to claim on this tour...not by a longshot!"
