This is a fight that Alesha has wanted for almost a year now, as she takes on the experienced American Brooke, hostess of the US TV show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ of which Alesha Dixon is a judge in the UK equivalent ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. The girls are definitely rivals, and it has been clear for a while that they each want to take the other down.

Into the ring first tonight is Alesha, and she looks superb as usual, tonight wearing a white bikini, and flashing herself around the ring, looking pert and confident, but she gives Brooke more than a cursory glance when she joins her, wearing a baby blue bra and micro-skirt, looking nowhere near her almost 41 years old.

Round 1

The pair waste little time in getting on with action, and Alesha is taking control right now, smacking some accurate and hurtful punches into Brooke’s face, the older girl’s head already getting jolted backwards. Alesha seems to be enjoying herself as she goes about her business, her neat left jabs just smacking Brooke’s face about at will, although she is allowing the American to land some clubbing blows to her body, shrugging them off at this stage of the fight, and in the closing seconds, she lands a lovely right hook in Brooke’s mouth, which has the older girl tottering slightly.

Round 2

Alesha is again looking perky as she drills a couple of jabs past Brooke’s guard and into her face, and the pair are clinching with Burke on the ropes. The girls are parted, but the American is happy to work at close quarters, and she’s scoring good points with her attack on Dixon’s ribcage and flanks. Alesha isn’t looking too happy, but she concentrates on her fight plan, which is clearly to knock her opponent out, as she rushes at her, only to be rebuffed with a teo fisted assault on her body that has her stationary at the bell.

Round 3

This time Brooke starts the better of the pair, landing some punches quickly to Alesha’s abdomen to make the Brit back away and cover up, even start looking to hold for the first time, and they are broken, clearly getting annoyed with each other. Brooke swings a punch at Alesha’s head, but it fizzes past, and she then takes a little four shot combo to her own face, which is beginning to mark up a little round the left cheek and eye. She lands a good left to Dixon’s belly to slow her down a little, but again gets set back to the ropes as the younger girl pops two lefts and a right across her jaws.

Round 4

Brooke’s looking a little untidy in the early exchanges, and Alesha’s action-packed style is beginning to drain the older girl, with punches starting to land too frequently around the damaged right hand part of her face. Burns looks a little off balance as Dixon pumps two left jabs onto her damaged cheek, and she almost turns her face into the follow up right hander, which hits her flush n the mouth, making the American’s knees wobble, buckle, and collapse beneath her, and she looks up from her butt as the referee counts her to 7 before rising. Brooke covers up well for the remaining seconds, tying the rampant Alesha’s arms in and stopping her from landing anything useful.

Round 5

After a dominant fourth round, Dixon seems to take her foot off the accelerator in the fifth, and is allowing Burke back into the fight, the older boxer again concentrating on her body as the target, the right seeming to be finding the taut brown belly pretty regularly. Still Alesha keeps jabbing and moving, but maybe not as quickly as before, and Brooke hurts her a little with a solid left hand to the liver, which has her dropping her gloves, and lets Burke cuff her once, twice to the face with that same left hand, again making Dixon hold – she strikes back with a flurry of jabs in the closing seconds, but lost the initiative a little.

Round 6

Alesha picks up the pace again off her stool, and starts peppering Brooke to her damaged right cheek, but she’s still getting caught to the midsection, and is walked to the ropes part way through the round, where the American girl gives her a little beating. Dixon grips her opponent and turns her, then works her to the face, and there’s a little blood now, with a short cut showing under Brooke’s right eye. Again Alesha works on Brooke’s weakness there, gaining in confidence as she feels she has her opponent at last weakening, and she gives her a little smile and a wink at the bell.

Round 7

Brooke’s eye’s not too badly messed up, but she looks a little vulnerable still and Alesha clips her again with her leading left glove, poking a punch at that eye, and stabbing Burke’s head backwards sharply. Dixon is moving her girl towards the ropes now, looking to do a number on her, but Burke is very cagey, and she ducks inside to turn Dixon, and backs her up to the ropes herself, and she tucks into Dixon’s body again, but this time the Brit can’t push her off, and she’s getting herself worked over, gasping and wincing, losing her shape a little, takes two to the tits, then a left to the jaw, and Alesha is on the canvas. She looks shocked and dazed, but is up at 6, her action laboured as the older girl gives her body yet more punishment.

Round 8

Alesha looks pretty tired now, and she gets another pummelling to the ribs and flanks as a greeting from the superbly fit Brooke, who follows that by spanking two hooks from either hand into Alesha’s face, and that has her moving back and swaying. Brooke feints beautifully with her left, kidding it’s coming for the liver again, but bumping into her mouth, then she hits her to the belly with her right, splashes another left straight into her nose, then flips her with a right uppercut, and Dixon crashes to the canvas for a second time, rolling over and struggling to her feet at 8. The referee needs Alesha’s face wiped here, as it’s smeared in blood – Burke’s split her nose – and this buys her some time, but she’s a static target for the American, who lays into her for the remaining seconds, wanting to finish her.

Round 9

Both girls are bloodied, but Alesha’s nose looks bad, and the blood starts to flow immediately as Brooke lifts her head up with another uppercut, then sends her spinning across the ring with a left hook. Dixon’s on the ropes, but Burke’s motioning for her to come to her midring – and slowly she comes forward, the referee looking steadily at her, as is Brooke Burke, who thuds another left hook into the Brit’s body, raises her head up with two truncated uppercuts, then gives her another left hook to the jaw, and Alesha’s down and flat on her back this time. There’s no need for a count – she’s out!

Brooke Burke knocked Alesha Dixon out in round 9.

Brooke looks like a fighter who will enjoy a little tour of duty in the UK – she’s clearly still fit, durable, and has a punch like a mule.
