This fight could be a cracker! Kei is unbeaten, with Gemma a former BBU champion, who really needs to start winning some of these big fights, or be left fighting in the lower reaches. The blonde actress will be looking to make her height and reach tell against the Japanese model, but that’s what her other opponents have thought – Kei is a big, big puncher.

Into the ring, Kei first in a sky blue bikini, the girl an absolute vision, soon joined by Gemma in a black leather onepiece suit, which leaves little to the imagination.

Round 1

Kei starts as quickly as usual, and she peppers the taller Gemma with bodyshots straight off her stool, and Gemma seems pretty shocked at this, rapidly backing off and covering up, with Kei following her up, smacking punches in and around her flanks, forcing her onto the ropes. Gemma needs to get off those ropes, but that’s not easy, with Kei smacking some pretty hard punches into her midriff, and all Gemma can do is hold on around the smaller girl’s neck, so that she escapes when the referee pulls the girls apart. The blonde is able to smack a couple of jabs into Kei’s face in the final minute, but she’s still pleased to hear the bell.

Round 2

It’s Kei on the offensive again at the start of the round, and she again starts chasing in after Gemma’s body, but this time the taller girl is standing off a little better, keeping herself mobile until just past the minute mark, when the model hammers her hard to the belly, and her knees quake briefly before Kei hits her to the face with a left hook and two right hooks, then Gemma’s holding again, getting her senses together, and again doing better in the latter stages of the round, giving Kei a couple of right hooks to her ear, and making her take a backward step or two.

Round 3

Another round, but the same story, as Kei’s on her toes, bobbing around, smacking punches into Gemma’s body, making the blonde step back towards the ropes where she can hammer her and weaken her. But this time around, Gemma doesn’t let the Japanese girl dominate her, and she fights back before the half way point, pumping two hard right jabs into the shorter girl’s face as she advances, then in comes the left hook, smacking Kei right on the jaw, and sending her sideways. Now it’s Merna’s turn to stuff a few hard shots into the pretty model’s face, and she’s not taking it too well, with Gemma jamming her right hand into the girl’s mouth then left hooking her twice, and Kei is down, only for a count of 5, but down nonetheless. She tears into Gemma when she gets up, thumping the taller girl hard around the mouth, and the blonde backs off, looking to keep her distance again.

Round 4

Gemma seems more confident, and she knows she can hurt Kei, but she needs to slow the older girl down, and she does this in the opening exchanges by thudding a few good jabs into her face, and Kei looks pretty static as the 27 year old steps around her, then moves in to jab again – and Kei counterpunches once more, rifling two good rights into the English’s belly, then pouring over her again, now finding the blonde’s face is within range, and she cuffs her to the right, then to the left, sending her to the ropes. Gemma counterpunches when Kei gets inside her guard, turns her girl neatly, and pops a shot or two on the model’s tits, but Kei hits her with a shortened uppercut to the chin, and back spins Gemma again, hurt to the belly late on.

Round 5

The girls trade punches in the centre of the ring, and Gemma lands a good left to Kei’s mouth, sends her backwards, then takes a swift double right hook to her ribs, then a left to the belly, smacks Kei’s head back with another right jab, lands another punch to the girl’s boobs, but has to take a heavy shot to the flank, then Kei lands that short uppercut again, flows it with another, and Gemma droops slightly, holding onto Kei to stay up. This is what the fans wanted, and Kei gives them more, rips a shot into Gemma’s belly, then stuns her with a right hook to the cheek, lands a left to her ear, and has the blonde spread across the ropes when she lands a hard right hook to her mouth, but there isn’t time for her to follow up, and the bell saves the English actress.

Round 6

Kei starts the round like a whirlwind again, and she lands some good punches to Gemma’s body, sending the blonde backwards again. Gemma’s backed up to the ropes, and she takes a big left hand to her jaw which sends her sideways a little, but, when Kei advances again, she turns the smaller girl, and belts her face with a left and a right, then she goes for her to the body, but Kei gets her to the chin with that short uppercut again, and she turns Gemma this time, the younger girl looking a little limp, then hammers her twice to the face with her right hook, and Gemma goes down, taking a full 8 count, and still looking dazed with almost a minute left. Kei is after a finish, and she lands three shots to Gemma’s face with her left, whistles a right uppercut past her chin, then rips her to the ribs with her left, then her right to the other side, and Gemma almost slumps into her arms to hold on for the bell.

Round 7

Gemma’s not as quick off her stool as Kei in this round, and that costs her, because the model has the forward momentum when they lock up again, and those body punches are taking their toll on the willowy blonde, and she’s stooping forwards, trying to protect herself, but there’s the uppercut again, and a crashing right hook, sending Gemma back to the floor. There’s no question mark about the blonde’s heart, as she hauls herself to her feet at 8 again, but there’s a huge one about her legs, because, shapely as they are, they’ve gone, and the referee helps the giddy blonde girl to her corner while Kei celebrates.

Kei Mizutani stopped Gemma Merna in round 7.

After a quiet start, that fight became quite a battle, but the better girl on the night definitely won, and she will be after a title shot really soon. On this showing, it will take a top class performance to beat her.

Kei usually enjoys herself after her fights by humiliating her opponent, but this time, reflecting the way that Gemma has earned her respect, she just visits her corner to check she’s OK. It is reported, but not confirmed, that she claimed her reward later, as a sheepish Gemma was seen to be leaving the Japanese girl’s hotel in the early hours of the following morning.
