BEFORE:

"Lots of girls around here CLAIM to be athletes," says a smiling Whitney. "Well, I AM one, an all-star in basketball and volleyball. I'm quicker and stronger and tougher, not to mention taller than almost everyone in this division. All I need are rounds, and the way to get them is to take Grace Park out of here tonight."

"Everyone saw Whitney against Van Camp," says Grace. "She's not sneaking up on anyone, least of all me. Physically, she's a challenge for anyone. But boxing isn't just ABOUT physical. And Whitney's about to find that out."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Hang Me Up To Dry' by The Cold War Kids, and here comes Whitney Cummings."

Tess: "Wiz is on record as liking Cummings a lot, Jenny. He thinks she can be a very good fighter if she gets the work."

McCarthy: "What does HE know about fighters? Now, I'm not agreeing with The Weirdo or anything, but I saw Cummings' bout with Van Camp. She can fight. This is no stay-busy for Park."

Tess: "For someone who isn't going to agree with Wiz, that sounds a lot like agreeing with Wiz."

McCarthy: "I NEVER agree with Wiz!"

Tess: "You just DID!"

McCarthy: "I did NOT!"

Tess: "He says she can be a very good fighter. And that's what YOU just said! You AGREED with him!"

McCarthy: "He said she could be a good fighter. I said she could fight. Two different things!"

Tess: "ToMAYto! ToMAHto!"

O'Dell(sighing): "See, they need to change my title to 'Ringmaster'. Cummings into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a nice blue number..."

McCarthy: "A little skinny for my tastes, but SOME guys think that's attractive, apparently, or Park wouldn't get work."

O'Dell: "And, speaking of Grace, that's the 'Hawaii Five-O' theme by The Ventures, and here comes the Korean Krusher!"

McCarthy: "Leave it to Park and the Weirdo to pick a song from some 70s TV series..."

Tess: "And, for those of you who had 'Mac doesn't know "Hawaii Five-O" is back on the air and Park is the female lead in it' in the 'Brain Dead Pool', go to the windows!"

McCarthy: "Shut it, Walmart! I don't WATCH network TV..."

Tess(mumbling): "Because you can't get ON it..."

McCarthy: "I HEARD THAT..."

O'Dell(sighing more deeply): "Grace into the ring, helped off with the robe by Jewel and Britney...dueling blue bikinis, though Grace's is a little deeper blue..."

McCarthy: "Dueling STICK figures, too."

O'Dell: "Can we get a pick, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Again, on experience alone, you have to pick Park, but she can't rely on what she normally does, her range and athleticism, because Cummings has as much or more than she does. Park's the pick, but don't be surprised if there's an upset."

O'Dell: "Round one underway and the two ladies showing some respect early. Both working the left hand, looking to find range. Moving well, both hands and feet."

McCarthy: "Neither of these girls used to fighting someone who can match them rangewise. Park's been up to light a few times, but even then she's usually had the reach."

Tess: "How do you deal with being on the other end of that, Mac. You've fought taller girls..."

McCarthy: "You have to work inside and get work DONE when you get in there. Can't stay on the end of her fists. Both girls doing a good job of keeping the othet there right now. Both scoring with jabs, finding the occasional right hand."

O'Dell: "Park trying to move Whitney a bit, control her with that jab. Cummings countering well...AND NAILS GRACE WITH A BIG RIGHT!"

McCarthy: "Pretty punch by Cummings! Grace made no mistake, Whitney just fit one through a keyhole!"

O'Dell: "Grace is hurt and Whitney backing her up. Not going all in to try to finish. Staying disciplined. Landing punches in bunches though!"

McCarthy: "Grace with a high guard, legs not working all that well. Suprised she stayed up, because that right was perfect."

O'Dell: "Whitney rallies to the bell! Grace still a bit wobbly back to the stool. Great first round for Whitney Cummings!"

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Round two underway now and Cummings forcing the action a bit, has Park on her heels some here."

McCarthy: "Not sure if Grace is fully recovered from that big right hand. She's not moving as well as she usually does and isn't as busy in the early going."

O'Dell: "Whitney with that loooonggg left hand, finding the mark, pre-empting Grace. Park thrown over to the defensive quite a bit in this round."

Tess: "I think Mac's right. She doesn't have the legs back and Whitney's taking advantage."

O'Dell: "Park lands a good left, but Whitney flurries back. Grace goes body, but Cummings lands another good one-two at the bell. Two in a row for Whitney, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Yes. I've got it 20-18. And, if Cummings keeps fighting like this, win or lose, this is going to be a coming out party for Whitney."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Bell for the third and Park sharp with a combination, now digs body, back to the head. Cummings rips back, landed a good left, and Grace flurries in return! Hot and heavy stuff, Mac!"

McCarthy: "This is Park's game, high work rate, pressure, lots of punches. Cummings beat her at it last round, but Grace is in rhythm right now."

Tess: "How do you break up that rhythm, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Got to land some hard stuff, like I did. Like Whitney did in that first round."

O'Dell: "Cummings staying busy with that left, but Grace putting punches together very well, throwing Whitney over to the defensive, outworking the younger girl."

McCarthy: "Give Cummings credit. She's not backing off."

O'Dell: "Sure isn't, but Grace has the pedal to the metal, sticking that left for a double-pump as the round ends. Best round of the night so far for Park."

McCarthy: "29-28 Whitney through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth and Park with a wicked combination to start it! Stopped Cummings in her tracks!"

McCarthy: "At least three good, clean shots in there got Whitney's attention."

O'Dell: "Park in rhythm, throwing punches in bunches. Cummings being thrown onto the defensive, forced to cover up. When she does, Grace goes body, drops the guard, then goes back upstairs."

Tess: "This is what makes Grace so dangerous. When she gets humming like this, it's kind of awesome."

O'Dell: "Whitney backed up with another flurry, brings up the guard. Park splits it with a left, bangs a right to the side of the head."

McCarthy: "Starting to bust the kid up, Jenny. Cummings is getting smothered. Can't get anything going."

O'Dell: "Grace hooks the body, snaps the head back with a right. Cummings with a left, Grace an overhand right and a left hook to finish a superb round!"

McCarthy: "All even at 38 through four. Cummings looking a little dazed and disheartened on the way back to the corner."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Into the fifth now, and, for Cummings and her fans, it's looking alarmingly like the third and fourth. Park letting the hands go, taking the initiative away from the younger woman, smothering her offense, forcing her onto the defensive."

McCarthy: "Whitney needs to find some answers here, and this is where her lack of experience can hurt. She seems to be flustered and frustrated."

O'Dell: "Park can do that to you. She's peppering Cummings' defenses, landing a high percentage. Whitney not able to get off much...GREAT COUNTER AND DOWN GOES PARK!"

McCarthy: "Keyhole again!"

O'Dell:"Shot a right hand over Grace's left glove. Perfectly timed counter. Park up at six taking the mandatory eight."

McCarthy: "That was a GREAT punch, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "Referee waives the fighters together and Whitney again remains in control, working the jab, banging the right to the body, patiently looking for the big one that could put a cherry on her upset sundae. Grace firing back some as the last second tick off, but the damage done as the bell rings to end the fifth."

McCarthy: "Check out the replay Jenny. Watch Park snap out the jab and even as the punch is coming forward here comes Whitney's counter. BOOM! I'll say it again. What a punch!"

Tess: "And what a turnaround! It was going to be Grace's round, but, instead, Whitney steals it and now leads 48-46!"

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "On to the sixth and Cummings looking to follow up, EATS a three-punch combination from Park! Grace goes body, then back upstairs, letting the hands go and forcing Cummings onto the defensive!"

McCarthy: "You know I don't like Park, but this has been a pretty good fight, Jenny..."

Tess: "See, this is why Mac is such a good commentator. She doesn't hide her feelings, but she's fair."

O'Dell: "For those of you with DVRs, don't rewind. That WAS a compliment we just heard! And I'm not sure Front Street would call her 'fair', since she calls all their fighters overrated."

McCarthy: "Tess is right..."

O'Dell: "Again, don't rewind, fans..."

McCarthy: "I AM fair. I didn't say Park couldn't fight. She can. She's good. But, like almost all Front Street fighters, she's overrated because she's pushed to the moon by The Weirdo and his buddied in the boxing press. And, thanks for the compliment, Tess!"

O'Dell: "Before the earth opens up and swallows us, back to the action. And there's a complimentary right hand from Grace! Here's a snappy left and you can have this right for free! Cummings covering up as Park lets the hands go again! Whitney trying to hold her own here, but this is that smothering pressure style of Grace's that can take it all away from you."

McCarthy: "No wonder Cuthbert's ducking her."

Tess: "I think 'ducking' might be a strong word..."

McCarthy: "She's fighting a girl Park just BEAT! What would YOU call it?"

O'Dell: "This wouldn't have anything to do with your feelings about Rachel McAdams, would it, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Of COURSE not. I hate PARK, too..."

Tess: "She hates McAdams MORE. And she especially hates when people call her R-Mac..."

O'Dell: "On the subject of 'ducking', it's Cummings doing the ducking right now as Grace finishes with left-right-left at the bell. Great round for Park and we're back within a point, ladies!"

Tess: "I have it 57-56, right Mac?"

McCarthy: "I KNEW you'd learn to judge fights if you worked with ME long enough!"

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round underway in what's been an action-packed contest and WOW! Big exchange right off the bell! Both landies landed some good stuff. Cummings doubles up a jab, looking to keyhole that right again, but Grace counters. Ladies working at arm's length right now, and both landing some good stuff."

McCarthy: "Cummings adjusting a little to Grace's pressure. Upping her own workrate. Not getting sloppy, but letting the hands go. I'm going to tell you ladies something, Whitney Cummings can fight! I'd LOVE to train a girl with her talent!"

O'Dell: "Cummings a good right to the body, bangs a left to the head. Confidence seems to be growing in this one. Park landed a good left in that exchange! Cummings bangs back and sent sweat flying with a right!"

Tess: "Mac is right, this has been a heck of a fight!"

O'Dell: "And one last exchange at the bell. Both ladies letting them go! Cummings got the better of that one."

McCarthy: "Kid got the better of the round, too. And the pressure's on Park right now. 67-65 with three to go!"

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Into the eighth now and Park acting like she knows she's behind! Grace ROCKING Cummings with a left-right! Whitney trying to answer back but Park lands hard again! Cummings covering up...GRACE SPLITS THE GLOVES WITH A BIG RIGHT AND CUMMINGS STAGGERS AND NEARLY GOES DOWN!"

McCarthy: "Kid's really hurt, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "And Grace is going all in! A withering attack at a retreating Whitney. Cummings backed intro the ropes. Park goes body, brings the guard down, snaps back Whitney's head with a hard right hand. Grace sensing a chance to end it. Cummings hanging on and we've still got half a round to go!"

McCarthy: "Kid needs to use those long arms and clinch. Tie Park up and slow her down!"

O'Dell: "Whitney trying to do that, but Grace punching free, moving backward to find room, ROCKING CUMMINGS WITH LEFT HOOK! Don't know how she stayed on her feet, Mac!"

McCarthy: "The moral of tonight's story is: Whitney Cummings can fight!"

O'Dell: "Park rocks Cummings back into the ropes again! Lands a hard right to the belly. Whitney bunching up, covering up, trying to hang on...and she does! There's the bell. Big round for Park, but Whitney survives..."

Tess: "And still has the lead. I've got it 76-75."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth round underway and Park looking to finish off Cummings. Grace pressuring, letting the hands go, throwing Whitney over to the defensive. Cummings forced to back up and cover up."

McCarthy: "Kid may still not be right from the last round."

O'Dell: "Park a nice flurry and...OH! PARK WOBBLED!"

McCarthy: "Cummings keyholed another right hand counter!"

O'Dell: "And Whitney now all in, banging away and the head and body, backing up Park...straight right, left hook, BIG RIGHT HAND! DOWN GOES GRACE!"

McCarthy: "This has been a hell of a fight..."

O'Dell: "Park pounding at the canvas, getting to her feet at seven. Clearly an unhappy camper! Referee gives her the mandatory. Waives Whitney forward, and GRACE NAILS HER WITH A THREE-PUNCH FLURRY! Cummings backed up now as Park snaps a jab into her chin and buries a hook to the midsection!"

McCarthy: "Neither of these girls will back down."

O'Dell: "Grace rallying beautifully now, throws Whitney back on defense. Cummings clinching, Grace digging to the midsection, snaps back her rival's head with a right hook as the bell rings! What a round!"

Tess: "But the story is that Cummings, for the second time, stole one with a knockdown. She's up three going into the tenth!"

McCarthy: "And Park knows it, slamming her gloves on the ropes before taking a seat on her stool!"

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "We are in the tenth and final round of a great fight and Grace Park needs a knockout to avoid an upset that's going to knock her out of the title picture, and she's going right after it! Park smacks Cummings with a left-right to the face, ducks a right hook, and buries a left to the body!"

McCarthy: "Cummings should be playing defense here. She has the lead, no need to trade."

O'Dell: "Whitney trying to counter, looking to find an opening, but she's not getting any. Grace lands big in that exchange! Whitney hurt by a right hand! Cummings backed up by a left uppercut to the chin, doubled up wincing by a nasty hook to the midsection."

McCarthy: "Kid's got guts! She's trying to fight back."

O'Dell: "But Park all OVER Cummings, snapping the head back twice with that flurry! Whitney wobbling again, backed against the ropes..."

McCarthy: "Legs won't let her go down, and she'd better not go, because, if she does, she's not getting up!"

O'Dell: "Park a BOOMING RIGHT! Cummings staggered along the ropes! Referee looking on closely. Cummings battered into a corner. Clinching and covering up. Grace snaps the head with an uppercut! Bell! Bell! It's over! It's over! Cummings stumbles as she heads to her corner and Park grabs her to hold her up. Not gonna see one of those hugs you hate, Mac, but there's a look of respect exchanged as Grace turns Whitney over to her corner people."

Tess: "You ready to admit Wiz was right, Mac?"

McCarthy: "WIZ was right? You mean J-MAC was right! I was the one who said Cummings could fight!"

Tess: "So did WIZ..."

O'Dell: "Let's not go there again! The decision being announced, and, the winner by UD10 Whitney Cummings!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "Whitney, a great night for you tonight..."

Whitney: "She's awesome. She can really hit, and there were times she kicked my a** tonight. But, I knew if I fought my best I could beat her. And that's just what I did. That and sent a message to the rest of the bantam division. Whitney Cummings is here, bytches. And business is about to pick UP!"
