Crowd inside the KO Club was treated with couple of comprehensive victories earlier during the event and the third one promises to be equally vicious as the two women abslolutely hate each other and have both vocally abused themselves during the pre-fight weigh-in. Italian model Elisabetta Canalis makes her first visit to Britain having lost a rough contest against Laura Pausini for the national title last November. Her opponent is the experienced but lower-ranked Jenny Frost who won just two of her 10 fights to date.
However because of Canalis' inexperience, Frost reckons her chances of winning are actually quite high. "This Italian cow had the stuffing punched out of her by Laura Pausini, let's be serious Pausini is not someone who one must be afraid of. Canalis is a jobber and I will expose her glass jaw tonight!"
Meanwhile the Italian brunette's response leaves a differing impression: "My loss to Laura was a freak accident, she just got lucky. If anyone's getting exposed tonight, it's that English blonde tramp. Her poor record speaks for itself, I'm not gonna lose to this wimp! Just watch me work her over!"
Both women enter the ring very focused, well aware of a huge chance to score a much needed win. They refuse to touch gloves before the opening bell; Elisabetta pretends to not understand English while Jenny just shoves her away and has to be dragged away to her corner to calm down a bit. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Elisabetta Canalis wearing a white bikini with navy blue stripes and black gloves. Jenny Frost wearing a black bikini with yellow stripes and black gloves.
Round 1: Jenny storms out of her stool, just can't wait for laying some leather on her foe's face and Elisabetta's head snaps seconds into the fight as Frost nails her with a right hook! Wake-up call much? Jenny pours with a low sequence to the ribcage and snaps the brunette's head again with a left hook! Crowd is up on it's feet as Jenny lands another combo to the midsection and as firey as Canalis seemed before the fight, she's backed against the ropes and looks bleak in wake of Frost's charge. High-tempo workout from the blonde, she creams Elisabetta's stomach with a left/right combo, but she drops her right arm too low and a huge left counter-strike grazes Jenny's temple and she jumps away. That was a close call for Frost who got over-excited and Canalis escapes trouble throwing more jabs at the midsection as Jenny circles to middle of the ring for good. Brunette on the move now, jabbing low, keeping her rival at distance. Jenny shakes her head, looks to mount another challenge, but throws only single shots, allowing the brunette to hassle her for a brief moment. Canalis with a couple of wild swings, but nowhere near as effective as the earlier left hook which nearly took Frost to the cleaners. Late in the going, both women miss a hooking approach and crash against each other in the middle of the ring; remain locked in the clinch for remainded of the round. Jenny with a solid opening round, but just couldn't enforce her dominance better and was lucky that Canalis missed that big left hook half-way through.
Round 2: Jenny leaps forward and throws another low sequence to the midsection, she's clearly the more agile of the two and the speed advantage enables her to score a series of low jabs in the opening minute. Elisabetta looks cumbersome, keeps her elbows low, but still takes most of Frost's shots on the ribcage. She looks for another big hook rocking the blonde foe, but it's a risky strategy as Jenny bunny hops around her and throws twice as more punches, easily looking better in the judges' eyes even though there's not enough power behind those efforts. Elisabetta slowly circles around, reverts into single attempts, barely grazing the blonde's flesh as Frost pours in with another combo to the stomach and then unloads a quick uppercut that crashes off the brunette's gloves. Elisabetta forces a clinch, Jenny's not strong enough to shrug her away and both women land on the ropes. Ugly stuff now and the ref has to separate them after a brief struggle, but Canalis repeats the tactics, grabs Jenny's arms and just doesn't let her go! Frost with a lacing shot to the kidneys! She gets dragged away in no time! Elisabetta still very focused, seeking that haymaker as Jenny moves on her again; low sequence to the guts - blocked by the forearms! Canalis grazes the blonde's nose with a cross-hook response, but misses a piledriver to the chin! Blonde jumps away to safety and the bell halts the rounds seconds later.
Round 3: Canalis dances along the ropes, further teasing the blonde into yet another attack. Quick leap from Frost, but a left/right combo to the head goes wayward and the Italian counters with a left hook to the breasts before throwing a right stiff jab to the chin. Jenny's head snaps back and she circles back as Elisabetta finally hits the high gear, jabbing ferociously to the midsection and turning the tables on her blonde opponent. Series of jabs bend the English girl down and a vicious right hook nails her in the temple. Frost wobbles back onto the ropes, Canalis flies with another big hook, mut misses and crashes into the briefly stunned rival. Jenny clinches and wraps her arms around the brunette's waist. Elisabetta's furious, shouts some abusive words in native language but the ref finds it hard to separate the girls. But of local support for Jenny? Canalis with another left hook immediately after the command; no good. Frost ducks low and throws some jabs to the stomach, but Elisabetta easily sidesteps into safety. Jenny pinned to the ropes, drops her gloves a bit lower, but Canalis refuses to pounce, seizes her up with single strikes, definitely taking the round on points but cannot connect with a really damaging punch before the bell. Undoubtfully a let-off for Frost in the third.
Round 4: Jenny on the back foot, accepts the fact her forward charges have been largely fruitless so far. Elisabetta leaps back and forth, throws single jabs to the midsection, but looks happy in mid-range, just teasing the blonde with dropping her arms few times. Frost keeps her focus, circles around the ropes as both women bide their time much to the crowd's dismay. Elisabetta with more menacing leaps, just keeps landing those single shots here and there, but nothing too really damaging. Frost with a wild hooking-combo; long way off the mark. Canalis with a quick right hook on the cheek! Jenny was slow on her feet and took that one in! She wobbles back and wipes the sweat of her face with top of her glove. Elisabetta still refusing to come forward, seems happy with the single striking and slow execution. Another quick jump late in the round though and Jenny just backs herself into the ropes, takes another of these single hooks on the cheek and bends down, allowing the brunette to rattle her with a low jabbing sequence to the stomach. Elisabetta with some wild swings, lays some leather into Jenny who begins to wince, but stays on her feet until the bell. Canalis with the second round on the spin, but just lacks that venom behind her shots. Still, Jenny's breathing heavily as she walks towards her stool and there's a lump appearing on her left cheek, those couple of hooks from the Italian really did some damage.
Round 5: Slowish circles from Frost; she just can't crack the Italian foe thus far and eats more leather early in the fifth as Elisabetta steps in and throws a series of chaotic looking hooks. These would have been dealt with ease by a more skilled fighter, but Jenny's footwork is exposed and she gets rocked by a couple of hooks, falling helplessly to the ropes. Canalis with a piledriver to the face and the blonde's guard is trashed; she leans back on the ropes, but Elisabetta closes the distance and whacks her between the mitts again and follows up with a left uppercut! Jenny's knees go numb on her and she wobbles forwards, looking to clinch, but Elisabetta leaps to the side and nails her in the temple with another left hook! DOWN GOES FROST face-first on the canvas!!! Elisabetta struts back to her corner as Jenny gathers herself on the floor. She shakes her head and moves to all fours at five, before getting upright at seven. Ref checks up on her and eventually allows to continue. Swelling on Jenny's face has gotten worse though, the lump underneath her left eye almost twice as big as before the fifth. Canalis wastes little time and pours in with more hooks aimed at the face, Frost covers up and weaves around the ropes as the brunette keeps pounding her from mid-range. However she can't quite finish the aching blonde off, single punches may impress the judges, but Jenny's desperate movement enables her to survive the round albeit severly wounded. At the bell she barely makes it back towards her stool and looks to be running on empty tank already.
Round 6: Unsurprisingly Canalis looks much better physically at half-distance; she gets up with seconds to spare and shadow-boxes in her corner before the bell. Frost rejoins the action with visible difficulty, struggles to keep her gloves high enough and Elisabetta works her over in mid-range with left jabs to the face, just testing her resistance. Weak response from the blonde, wild hooks catching the air and the Italian girl finally turns on the screw again; closes the distance with ease, almost has Jenny tripping over her own feet in the proccess and laces her in the cheek with a left hook. Blonde's guard is non-existent and she takes that one in, further damaging the wound underneath the eye. She bends down and covers up, Elisabetta pummels her towards the ropes with a series of shots to the midsection; big uppercut to the jaw somehow gets stopped by Jenny, but another series of jabs to the ribcage really inflict some pain. Jenny moans with every single strike landing on her ribs; ducks and weaves but cannot escapre the punishment. Elisabetta methodically pounds the fighting spirit out of her and keeps pinned along the ropes for remainder of the round. Frost's guard protects her from more damage to the face, but the ribcage takes a heavy pounding and the blonde wobbles several times, but doesn't hit the canvas anymore for now. Canalis reverts to single strikes to the guts, but despite being unable to finish the blonde off, doesn't look as upset as she was when she got hit in the kidneys earlier. Perhaps she knows it's only a matter of time when Frost finally falls apart alltogether?
Round 7: Jenny bravely climbs out of her stool but remains glued to the ropes, makes it far too easy for the Italian to continue the methodical destruction. Canalis answers the call, squares up to her and throws another hooking combo to the head, but Jenny ducks underneath them and response with a left hook to the nose! Elisabetta's head snaps back and she nearly stumbles over but manages to jump away in time. Jenny lacks speed to make more out of that one and jabs wastefully afterwards, while Canalis circles around her, allowing the blonde to wear herself out even further. Frost tries to make something going though, throws a low sequence to the ribcage, but can't close the distance and strikes the Italian's arms. Big left counter-hook from the brunette, grazes her ear, but Jenny drives forward with a sudden charge, couple of jabs land on the brunette's stomach and she whacks another hook that skims off her nose! A late comeback from the seemingly dead on her legs blonde? Elisabetta forces a clinch, whips a couple of jabs to the ribs and another one to the kidneys. Who's playing dirty now? Ref shoves the Italian away and lectures her in no-nonsense fashion. Game on! Canalis ducks underneath blonde's wild swing and catches her in the chest with a stiff jab, throws another jabbing sequence to the ribs and Jenny moans again. She drops her elbows, but Elisabetta has foreseen that, flies with an uppercut to the chin and DOWN GOES FROST crashing flat on her back!!! She got exposed again, text book low/high combo from the brunette and Jenny's fitness leaves much to desire at this stage of the contest. She bravely pushes herself with both hands and just beats the count at eight. Face still swollen allthough the Italian hasn't landed a solid punch there for the past couple of minutes. Jenny hangs in there! Elisabetta scowling in Italian, now she's definitely upset and pours in with another charge. Left hook to the ribcage almost bends the blonde completely but a right uppercut misses the nose and allows Frost to clinch. Blatant display of pulling-down follows, Canalis wants to shove her away, but her right arm gets trapped by the English girls elbow and both fighters land on the ropes, wincing in exhaustion. Jenny looks for another survival and Elisabetta starts to feeling the effects of this bout as well. She can't shrug her off and the ref does nothing to help her! There's the bell and Frost survives another round, but Elisabetta looks furious.
Round 8: Elisabetta can't control her anger anymore; she jumps after her rival straight after the bell and throws another jabbing sequence to the ribcage. Jenny covers up and somewhat unexpectedly drives forward in response; no repeat of that uppercut from the previous round. Elisabetta throws it, but Jenny's learned her lesson, piles on with a left hook to the breasts. Canalis rooted to the spot, finds a response on her own, right hook to the temple.... half of the crowd never saw that... DOWN GOES FROST flat on her back for the THIRD TIME tonight.... eyes closed, breasts pumping up and down, but she's motionless at the count... It's over KO8 Elisabetta Canalis!!!
Post-fight: Some people in the crowd wait for the replay on the big screen. That was too quick to be noticed... sure enough, Jenny dropped her left arm too much and got nailed clean on the temple with a vicious right hook. She was running on spares at this stage of the fight and just went down like a sack of potatoes. Lucky punch from Canalis? Hardly. She dominated the fight since the third round and it's almost a surprise it took her that long to finish Frost off for good.
Elisabetta stands in the middle of the ring with her hands placed on the hips, soaking up all the applause. That was a clinical destruction at the expence of Jenny Frost she displayed tonight, securing her maiden BBU victory. The problem is, Frost's hardly made any headlines so far in her career and Canalis needs a much better test to find out if she's above par or have we just seen two jobbers slugging it out.
Final result: Elisabetta Canalis def. Jenny Frost KO8.
