BEFORE: “It's time the FCBA finally took notice of me!” Sarah Hyland says, “ I mean, I got to fight at an Asylum event and I'll be taking part in another, but getting to take down Leighton Meester in my official FCBA debut will get me off to a great start. Modern Family is one of the biggest hits in television history and it's time that people start recognizing me as one of the key parts of that! Knocking down a Gossip Girl is gonna help that out!”
“Modern Family is a cute television show. Fun while it lasts, enjoyable but ultimately disposable. That could just as easily describe Sarah Hyland. “ Leighton snarks, “She needs to learn her lesson and that the days of people taking down the stars of Gossip Girl are over. Blake is doing a great job in her new stable and now I'm finally starting to get on a roll. It's time to move on to bigger and better things here in this division. Hyland is going down!”
It's a very testy pre-fight, with Leighton commenting that “candids with Ashley Tisdale aren't enough to prove you can make it in the FCBA” and “it just proves you look good enough to beat up!” Hyland responding coolly that “hanging out with Tisdale is hanging out with a winner at least.” and reminding Meester in not-so-subtle fashion about her loss to Tisdale. A brief scuffle ensues, though more of words than of any lasting damage.
Hyland wearing a dark blue bikini with matching gloves. Brown hair hanging loosely around her face. Leighton sporting a tight yellow bikini with green trim and matching gloves, dark hair in a ponytail.
R1: Hyland shows a lot of aggression early in the round. Hyland delivers a very frisky pace, her little arms like windmills to pressure Leighton all over the ring. Meester picking up the shots well, absorbing them and delivering offense of her own with some well-placed jabs to keep Hyland from getting into a steady rhythm. With her pacing and steady attacking jabs, it's Hyland who controls the canvas and round. R2: Leighton, however, appears to have displayed some real patience while conducting reconnaissance into Hyland's methods in forfeiting the points. The recon work definitely seems to have paid off as Hyland starts off frisky and furious in the early minute of the round, but Leighton not having any of it this time around. Leighton shooting forward steady jabs towards the forehead, breasts or occasionally towards to knock Sarah backwards. Steadily imposing her will, Leighton forces Hyland to absorb the pressure on the following two minutes with steady jabs and hooks. This leaves a very frustrated Hyland heading back to her corner. R3: Leighton comes forward to keep delivering hard shots towards Hyland. Meester pursuing Hyland all over the ring as she delivers steady blows, pressuring the body of the Modern family star. Hyland is not coming forward as much as she was before and the lack of pressure has the twitterverse wondering whether she's hurt. Meester forces Hyland to bunch over after a particularly hard hook right down into Sarah's tummy, but the bell rings before she can follow up. The two of them exchange glances and a confident grin from Meester, heading back to her ring the winner of two straight rounds following a cautious first. R4: All the curiosity in the twittersphere about whether Hyland is hurt is answered pretty quickly in the first minute of this round. Hyland coming forward now, eager to reverse the trend of the last two rounds, but Meester catches her with another stiff hook to tummy and pairing it with a hard overhead cross that knocks Hyland down! Hyland goes wobbly-butt and crashes to her butt with a hard thud as Meester gazes down at her, waving her back up. Hyland does, managing to rise up to her feet before the count, but clearly not the same. Meester lets her come forward on shaky legs, just backing a hesitant Hyland with stiff jabs flicking out towards her forehead and breasts again. In the final minute, Meester clips her with a sharp uppercut that whips her head backwards and Hyland goes down AGAIN! Hyland getting knocked down TWICE this round is absolutely brutal and Meester cattily implores her to stay down, but Sarah is saved by the bell. Meester is positively buoyant after this round, beaming as a dazed Sarah is resuscitated by her trainers and given strong advice once she's focused enough to receive it. R5: Meester is both pleasantly surprised and slightly frustrated that Hyland makes it back out, demonstrating some pluck this round. The crowd cheers their encouragement as Meester is sending out hard jabs, obviously eager to flatten Sarah to the mats again but Hyland bobs and moves swiftly over the canvas. Displaying some of that aggressiveness that was so beneficial to her earlier, Hyland fights hard for points. It's a great toe to toe match-up, the two of them meeting in the middle of the ring as they exchange blows towards one another, with Hyland trying to pound at Leighton's chest and abs. Meester focusing on her opponent's abs and ribcage with hooks. Hyland delivering perhaps more blows this round, but Meester deliving harder ones. Meester takes the points, but is clearly scuffed up in the process. In contrast to the previous round, Meester goes back to her corner to hear some advice and Sarah talks to her trainers, who are encouraged by the fighting spirit that Hyland has displayed. R6: Whatever Meester's trainers said to her in the corner during the previous round, it works. Early in the round, the two of them are exchanging wild blows towards the center of the ring but Meester manages to catch Hyland clean to chin again. Hyland crashing to the canvas for the third time in as many rounds as she sprawls down across the floor. Displaying what could be described as either recklessness or bravery, Sarah makes it back to her feet. Hyland is unable to regain any offense, but Leighton is unable to close out the match either. Sarah managing to stay on her feet as Hyland is forced to absorb shots to her ribcage and covering up hands to temples to try to keep from getting knocked down again. R7: Hyland comes out, hoping to land some pesky shots to give her time to recover, but Meester isn't in the mood. Not in the least. Sarah is obviously a little dazed after her treatment the previous round and Meester takes advantage, delivering another hard shot to her tummy and then checking her with another hard cross to her chin. Hyland pitching tummy-first to the canvas, but swaying back to her feet again to beat the count. However, in doing so, she runs into a determined and angry Leighton who lunges forward. Delivering her shots right to Hyland's tummy as she folds over, just mouth-breathing and doubling over, staggering away one moment and trying to clinch the next. Obviously a dazed beauty as Meester then sends her tiny yellow gloves pounding against Hyland's stunned face. Sarah's arms drop to her waist and she sits down, butt-in-ropes, not even able to cover up and Leighton is pouring it on as the ref finally calls it, KO7 for Leighton Meester!
After: “I like Sarah a lot. I do. I respect her for being able to keep getting up after I knocked her down so many times.” as Leighton holds up four fingers with a big smile, “But, I just don't like girls named Sarah. Most of the time, they tend to just be tramps.”, in what appears to be a clear reference to a certain Foxfire star. , “And now, the rest of the FCBA better watch out. First Brianna, now Sarah, who is next? I'm really starting to take advantage of all the potential I had when I started out and now that I'm putting it all together, the sky is the limit!!” Meester, displays the same confidence and attitude towards her opponent that Carter did to her previously, but Leighton too excited in her victory to notice the parallels.
