BEFORE:

"The difference between Grace and I," says Eva, "Is that she's the classic 4-A player. Too good for AAA, but not good enough for the Majors. She can beat the lower-level girls, but she can't win the big ones. And I CAN. And HAVE. I've worn the bantamweight belts, and, now that I've got management to push me, I'm going to wear them again. UNlike Grace 'Next Year's Champion' Park."

"I might be NEXT year's champion," says Grace, "But Eva is LAST year's champion. And she's about to be introduced to the dustbin of history."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside for our sixth and final contest as 'Hawaii Five-O' by The Ventures crashes around the arena and 'The Korean Krusher', Grace Park, heads down the aisle to the ring."

McCarthy: "Too bad she's not from Uzbekistan. Then they could call her the 'Uzbek Underachiever'..."

Tess: "Ooh. SOMEone got a Wikipedia app for her phone..."

O'Dell: "Grace into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Britney. Wearing the familiar blue bikini..."

McCarthy: "Not sure who looks more like a teenage boy, Park or Paltrow..."

O'Dell: "And that's 'Brighter Than The Sun' by Colbie Caillat, and here comes the former FCBA Bantamweight Champion, Eva Mendes! Tess on record as favoring Grace, Mac, what do you think?"

McCarthy: "I think Eva's right. She's the real deal. She's a champion. Park is a wannabe who can't win the big one. She's just another Dancing Hooker who can't beat championship-caliber fighters like Eva and Mac The Knife. And Mendes is going to prove it."

O'Dell: "Eva into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a nice dark red bikini..."

McCarthy: "And, unlike Grace 'The Human Toothpick' Park, EVA can fill it out..."

Tess: "YOU'RE looking a little thin tonight, Mac...is it the liquid diet because of the jaw or are you living off ramen noodles now that you're BROKE!"

McCarthy: "I AM NOT BROKE! And I've never even HEARD of ROMAN noodles!"

Tess: "Fans, I'm just kidding Mac about being broke. Obviously, she has plenty of money. I mean, the residuals from syndication of her 'Jenny' series alone...might get her a six pack of ramen noodles..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Speaking of liquid diets, drink up, fans, and do it quickly, because there's the bell for round one. Mendes with her hands high, looking to close. Park using her reach, working the jab, wants to set up at range."

McCarthy: "Eva is a KO artist puncher, and that's why I like her against Park. If she can get inside Grace's reach, Eva can use that power to take Park out."

O'Dell: "Did it just then. Slipped in close and landed a nice flurry. Grace responded with a pair of hooks of her own and circled back to range. Park very busy. Peppering Mendes from the outside. Pressuring. Punches aren't hurting Eva, but they're scoring."

McCarthy: "Mendes getting her work done in spots, and she's OK with that. When she gets inside, she works. Both upstairs and down. She knows that leather will add up."

O'Dell: "But is isn't adding up to a win in the first. There's the bell, and that's Grace's round, ladies."

Tess: "Agreed."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Back to action and Park VERY busy in the early going, backing Mendes up, pressuring, letting both hands go to good effect."

McCarthy: "Grace putting punches together very well. Not letting Eva get set or penetrate. Got her going backward, which isn't Mendes' game."

O'Dell: "Park using the right hand to set up the left hook. Suppressing Eva. Landing some solid shots. Mendes frustrated. Can't get off...AND GOES DOWN!"

McCarthy: "Accumulation knockdown. No one big punch did that. It was a lot of little punches."

O'Dell: "Mendes to one knee. Going to take almost the full count. Rising at nine. Gets the mandatory and here comes Grace. Park lettin' 'em go! Mendes backed up, covering up, hanging on."

Tess: "Grace definitely wants to end this right now."

O'Dell: "And Eva ALL about denial. Keeping the hands high, jabbing in spots to keep the referee at bay. Grace hammering away to the bell, but Eva lives to fight another day."

Tess: "But, just like last fight, LCA's girl has gotten herself in an early hole. 20-17 through two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins with Park continuing to pressure. She's got the lead and she's not sitting on it...RIGHT HAND, EVA! GRACE IS ROCKED!"

McCarthy: "THAT'S why J-Mac picked Mendes! She can turn things around with one punch!"

O'Dell: "And she's turning on the jets, battering a wobbly Park around the ring, ripping to the body, banging hooks to the head. Park with the hands up, trying to weather the storm."

McCarthy: "Eva SURGICAL right now. No wasted motion. Placing ever punch right where she wants it."

O'Dell: "Grace forced into the ropes and now beginning to rally back! Nice flurry from Park. Mendes back to the body and Grace lands a nice combination at the bell."

McCarthy: "Eva's round, no question, but, like Park in the second, she couldn't finish. One of them is going to regret it."

Tess: "29-27 now. Grace still in the lead. But Eva just showed that we might not need the scorecards..."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "We're back to action and a BIG exchange starts it! Both ladies landed good ones in that flurry!"

McCarthy: "I'm telling you now, Park does NOT want to trade with Mendes. If she had ANY kind of corner, they'd be telling her not to do that."

O'Dell: "But she IS doing that. The two ladies banging away at one another, neither willing to take a step back. Mendes landing a good left. Park counters with a right hand..."

Tess: "Mac may not like this, but the FANS do..."

McCarthy: "I like it FINE. I just think Park shouldn't be doing it..."

O'Dell: "And now Grace turns up the heat! Park backing up Eva, all over her now...pace wearing Mendes out and Grace taking full advantage, landing punches in bunches. Eva covering and clinching now, hooking body in the clinch. Referee breaks and Park back to work, banging at Eva's guard as the bell rings! Final minute won it for Grace."

Tess: "Certainly did, and she's back to a comfortable margin on the cards, 39-36 through four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth round begins with a rejuvenated Eva getting inside and landing solid! Mendes backing Park up now, working the body..."

McCarthy: "Good strategy against Grace. She's fragile. You can use her up..."

Tess: "FRAGILE? She went thirteen with Dushku!"

McCarthy: "You may actually be RIGHT, Walmart. Maybe she only SEEMS fragile when she fights ME..."

O'Dell: "Mendes scoring again in close, Grace banging back...and BACKING UP EVA WITH A BIG FLURRY! Mendes thrown to the defensive now as Park ups the tempo again! Eva in retreat, covering up..."

Tess: "The tempo's done for her again. Eva slowing down in the last minute of the round and Grace going to town."

O'Dell: "Park scoring almost at will. Mendes covering and clinching, trying to get to the bell. Grace a nice right hand as it rings, bringing a close to another round that Grace Park wins late."

Tess: "And, speaking of 'late', it's getting late for Mendes on the scorecards. It's 49-45 Park."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Into the second half of a scheduled ten and Grace Park picking up where she left off in the fifth. Pressuring Mendes, putting punches together, suppressing her fire."

McCarthy: "Mendes not nearly as effective going backward, and that's what Park has her doing."

O'Dell: "Grace landing to the head with a right-left, piling up the points. Eva now working inside the reach and digging body..."

McCarthy: "This is what Eva needs to do. Good strategy."

O'Dell: "And it's paying off. She's hurting Park amidships, slowing her down, scoring some points upstairs now. Good rally to the end of the round by Mendes."

Tess: "Too little, too late to win it, though. I've got it 59-54 for Park."

McCarthy: "I agree. Eva didn't win the round. But she might just have figured out how to win the fight."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Mendes moving in, but stopped in her tracks by Park! Nice right hand lead and a left hook. And Grace building on it, letting the hands go, forcing Eva to the defensive."

McCarthy: "Eva not able to get in position or get off. Park pre-empting her. Very busy. Lots of pressure."

Tess: "How do you deal with this kind of heavy pressure and high work rate, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Well, with MY quickness..."

Tess: "The NEPHRONS of your quickness..."

McCarthy: "SHUT it..."

Tess: "Kidding, Mac..."

McCarthy: "AS I was saying. With MY quickness I can counter this by getting off first, but Eva right now can't get off at all. Standing cross-armed waiting her turn, but it's not coming."

O'Dell: "And it isn't GOING to come if Grace can help it. Park in a great rhythm. Using the jab to set up the right hand, hooking with the left off of that. Picking apart Eva's defenses. Just having it all her way as the bell rings to end the seventh."

Tess: "69-63. I picked Park to win. But, I didn't expect THIS..."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Three rounds to go, and if Mendes wants to mount a rally, now would be a pretty good time. Grace, though, has OTHER ideas. She's all OVER Mendes right away. Eva taking good, clean stuff upstairs, unable to counter, forced backward, covering up once again in the face of relentless pressure from Park..."

McCarthy: "Mendes can't get the bat off her shoulder right now."

Tess: "That's because Grace has TAKEN the bat and is BEATING her with it."

O'Dell: "Eva just getting SMOTHERED right now by withering, non-stop fire...AND MENDES WOBBLED BY THAT RIGHT HAND! PARK FOLLOWING UP WITH A NASTY FLURRY! Mendes covering up. Park snaps the head back with a straight right. Eva hanging on. Staring. Grace looking for the finisher..."

McCarthy: "Pride is what's keeping Mendes up right now. Nothing more than that..."

O'Dell: "And it sees her through to the end of the round. There's the bell, and, just like last fight, I don't think the scorecards hold much mystery right now."

Tess: "79-72. Seven rounds to one. NO one saw this coming."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Six minutes or less left in this one, and if Grace Park has anything to say about it, it's going to be less. Park right back after Eva, landing again with both hands, smothering Mendes, forcing her backward, making her cover up. AND MENDES IS STAGGERED! A NICE LEFT-RIGHT TO THE HEAD AND EVA WOBBLES."

McCarthy: "Pride. That's all it is."

O'Dell: "And Grace Park attempting to BEAT that out of her. Park pouring on the punishment. Rocking Eva backward with sharp rights to the head, then hooking the lats and the ribs with the left. Mendes grim, holding on. All about survival now. Backed into the ropes. Sweat flying with that right hand..."

Tess: "Referee not going to allow much more of this."

O'Dell: "He's looking very closely as Park pours it on. Mendes covering up, dazed, hurt. Won't go down. Grace just keeps on shipping the punishment as the bell rings to end the ninth."

Tess: "89-81. You could have gotten pretty good odds in Vegas..."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "We're going to see a tenth round, and I wasn't sure of that until Mendes got to her feet seconds ago. And here comes Grace. Park immediately all over Eva, peppering her with punches, putting her immediately on the defensive."

McCarthy: "Seems like Mendes hasn't landed anything meaningful since about the seventh."

O'Dell: "And Park plans to keep it that way. Grace lathering Eva. Mendes unable to respond. Backed into the ropes, hands up as Park keeps banging shells off her defenses. Mendes doing just enough to keep the referee at bay..."

McCarthy: "JUST enough."

O'Dell: "Mendes exhausted and hurt. And Park hasn't slowed down a bit from the first round. One final flurry from Grace to the bell, and it's over."

Tess: "99-90. She won NINE of ten."

O'Dell: "I don't know if there's a bantam in the world who beats her tonight..."

McCarthy: "I can think of ONE..."

O'Dell: "Decision being announced and it's no surprise. The winner by UD10, 'The Korean Krusher', Grace Park!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore, who has our winner, Grace Park!"

Tess: "Grace, this might have been the best fight of your career..."

Grace: "I had just about everything working, yeah. I'm not surprised, though. Mendes can fight, don't get me wrong. She can beat girls. She just can't beat ME."

Tess: "Who's the best bantam at Front Street?"

Grace(laughing): "What Allison said..."
