BEFORE: "Morena's like another me, minus the heart, grit and elite will to win of course," Claire allows in prefight. "But as far as boxing and ring-intelligence goes, she's world class, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. Tack on her sleek exotic good looks and she's definitely something I need to have in my trophy case!"

Morena aloof, vaguely amused...acting like a woman with a secret. "A fighter in my position prays for these moments," Baccarin purrs at podium. "You always want that 'name' fighter to make a mistake and select you thinking she'll be rounding out her resume. In fact, Claire's entered a trap. They call her 'sorceress', but I'll show Danes a thing or two about magic."

Claire in lavender cotton yoga top with thin straps; black sport-bikini bottoms; small black gloves; hair in frisky blonde ponytail with gym-rat bangs. Morena in vivid purple bra style bikini also twist-tied between jugs; small black gloves; close-cropped black hair.

During R1: Claire gets a taste of magic early - following Morena to ropes, only to have Baccarin edge inside with left shoulder; swing-pivot clockwise, neatly turning Claire's right flank while ducking under Danes' swatting right. Claire follows up, trying to locate Morena via spitting jabs...Baccarin bobs underneath all in sequence while creep-stepping counter-clockwise. Minute mark - Danes slips Morena's right hand; both women twist into slick hooks and CLAIRE GETS CLAPPED! Danes wide-eyed, staggering back on her heels...she hits ropes foggy, attempting to cover up earmuff when Morena comes hurtling in, SAVAGELY headbutting Danes beneath left eye! Claire's knees buckle, sitting her into ropes...Morena bats away right/left/right to breadbasket, opening up her stroke to get in there limber/wide, then twisting to put tight hook on Claire's chin. Danes left eye already swelling...she slides to her right along ropes, gets her chin toggled by a sliding Morena right...Baccarin stepping-with, crouching low, hitting Claire with full power! Neutral corner - Claire hits turnbuckles shabby...Morena crowds in with left shoulder, slipping small-gloved left hand into trunks to take a firm grip on Claire's waist-band. From there - push-in to Claire's chest, then push off - crack her a swiping right hand to mouth while tugging lefty-on-the-trunks - compress her into turnbuckles with the left shoulder on chest to smother/reset. Claire in stupor, cut in her mouth, eye now closed, she ties up around Morena's shoulders...Baccarin's right hand writhing to push Claire's left hand down so Morena can continue the trunk tug/right hand slugging routine in close. Ref issues break, pushing Morena back: Claire in crisis, slides to her right along ropes, exiting corner, holding dukes at temples. Morena attacks: left uppercut nips chin; left hook doubles down behind Claire's right elbow. Danes groans, elbows flinching down: Morena pounces on the opening via stubby straight right, pounding Claire's left eye. Hook to the liver; stubby, short right hand up top...Morena just putting two-beat punching to good work, breaking Claire down. Danes clinches, gets ref's break...more pursuit along ropes as Danes tries to slink away only to have Morena stalk her, punish her. Bell: Claire swaying, eyes staring glassy...Morena looks blonde girl over with satisfaction - just the hint of a Mona Lisa smile on brunette lips.

R2: Morena intense, coldblooded...she's the hunter. Claire hurt, rallying...she's the hunted. Baccarin stepping-to, dukes at shoulder-height...she's jotting the stubby straight right, alternating straight left jabs and wide hooks in complement. Claire doing her thing...left shoulder pointed Morena's way, chin tucked behind it. Claire first with a swift jab, scoring on Morena's open face; often following up the stick-straight right hand, followed by crouch/swivel-pivot clockwise. Morena stepping-to but missing her shots - Claire turning her brunette - lead (left) foot in a bucket as she pivots to either side, sliding it along the ground, keeping Morena in range. Danes making quick, darting contact with her shots - punching at Morena's face or tits...Baccarin unhurt, but kept out of rhythm. Down the stretch, Claire bobbing and pivoting, coming up with wicked snick-snack left/right tummy punches on Morena...just a quick, snatching delivery as Claire's bobbing on the spot, then she slides off to her left, leaving Morena fuming. Bell: Baccarin unhurt, but frustrated...all flashing eyes and sharp tongue for her cornermen during break. Claire getting ice on her eye and a vigorous thigh rubdown as she's still fragile.

R2: Claire continues to rally - fighters in closed stances, chins tucked behind left shoulders midring, each jabbing to locate the other. Lovely, liquid stuff as girls step in close with left shoulders to pivot-clockwise, or bob in close with heads to pivot-counterclockwise, simultaneously crowding and ducking under any punches. Minute mark - Claire weaves under a Baccarin left/right, answers back tightly clipped right/left to trunks: clear pay-back for Morena's vicious head butt. Baccarin gasps, bunches up...Claire straightens, tucks hook behind brunette right elbow, then skids left uppercut off Morena's hairline as brunette's stooping forward. Baccarin inching forward face-in-gloves, elbows in...Claire weaves torso-right for an angle, hacks right hand in above the Baccarin left hip; slides back in-stance to walk Morena onto left hook under right elbow; dips torso right as misdirection/sidesteps-left past Morena's right shoulder, helping her stumble forward with left hand in the back. Baccarin hits ropes, gets turned around, dukes at temples...Claire steps-to, fitting jagged left uppercut to sternum with a short, digging delivery. Morena whimpering, sitting in ropes...Claire exploring the breadbasket and hip via batting left hooks, bunching Morena forward, softening her up. Claire weaving torso side to side, getting angles from which to strike at Morena's hips/flanks/back...Baccarin sobbing aloud, reaching for Claire's legs to tie up: Danes pushes hands on Morena's back, driving her to all fours. Ruled a "push"...Morena up, blinking away tears, mouth open...she digs in on apron, showing tight earmuff as Claire steps-to, leans in, unleashes rangy-wide right/lefts to waist/ribs. Morena whining, sitting in ropes hurt. Claire reaches down, pushing Morena upright into ropes; pivots-right and POURS in a short hatchet-chop right hand between Morena's mitts. Brunette's head lolls, guard goes limp as she sags into strands...CLAIRE'S HACKING IN RIGHTY! Danes hard-hearted - left hand nudging at Morena's tummy while the right hands slam home up top...brunette torso slides through bottom rope on her way down, bending her back over the cable. Ref pushes seething Danes away, waving this off...KO3 in savage fashion, Claire Danes.

After: So much for the chessmatch! Slick boxers both elect to rough-house creating one of the most brutal slugfests Claire's ever been a part of. "I'm surprised she went that way," Claire admits in postfight, holding an ice-bag to her left eye. "Maybe I shouldn't have been - she's an apartment wrestler at heart, so you have to expect cheating and fouls. Still, for her to brawl like that, she went away from her strengths. Once she turned stalker, I just fought my fight...I thought I'd have to work my way too her tonight. Either way of course, I had the measure of her. After the headbutt, I just said, 'No way: you do not get to go the distance with me'. I'm feeling really strong at this weight, punching hard...if I have to take bantamweights out, they will go."
