Michelle was the first BBU welterweight champion, then tried her luck in FCBA, and has returned to Europe in her search for glory. As for Jaye – if she fought as well as she trashtalked, she’d be the champion herself.

The girls are in the ring, with Michelle demure in a blue one piece outfit, and Jaye just trash in a leopard print bikini.

Round 1

Jaye’s taunting and inviting Michelle in to trade punches in the opening seconds, but the Londoner has none of it, and she boxes neatly, and, while Jaye tries to land some wild blows to her face, Michelle just picks her off so easily it’s a shame, and she smiles as she realises she’s hurt the Somerset girl to the body already. Jacobs is backing off, and this gives Ryan plenty of encouragement – here she comes, smacks Jaye to the body with a left hook, right hook to the jaw, and Jacobs is down already, laying on her side, then awkwardly rising at 6. Michelle isn’t going to rush in and make mistakes though, and instead she allows Jaye to be the aggressor late in the round, blocking her punches easily.

Round 2

Jaye looks more determined now, and she cuffs Michelle to the body, making her clinch and hold for safety. Still she’s taunting Ryan, but she’s not riling her at all, and Michelle just grins and lets her have her say, then hits her nicely in the face - left, right – Jaye staggers away. Michelle doesn’t press on though, and Jacobs regroups, and she attacks again, and attacks well, too, slamming Ryan with a left, and another – Jacobs can punch – and she’s got Ryan wobbling on shaky pins, but can’t quite land the punch to deck her as Michelle uses her experience to tie the mouthy girl up, and she gets through the round using guile and frustrates Jaye.

Round 3

Jaye wants more – she’s hurt Michelle, and she wants to do it again. But she’s so predicatble, lunging after Ryan with big haymakers, while Ryan is compact, correct, and when she needs to be, explosive! Jaye throws another heaving right hand, Michelle sways away, then crack with the left, crack with the right, another with the left, and Jaye’s down again, disorganized and dazed, but up at 7. Jacobs looks shot, though, and Ryan’s after her this time, pushes her back to the ropes, and she lands a two lovely right hands to Jaye’s cheek, sets her up for the left, and lands it, too, but Jaye stays on her feet somehow, sees out the round, even though she drops to her knees on her way back to her corner.

Round 4

Michelle’s corner are becoming frustrated – their girl is outclassing and outpunching Jaye, but seems reluctant to finish the girl off, happier it seems to be giving her a boxing lesson, and treating her like a sparring partner. Jaye’s defence is hopeless, and Michelle’s punches are landing so often it’s almost sad to watch, the girl’s face just puffing up with swelling as the gloves do their work on her skin, grazing her cheeks badly and bloodying her nose, and, by the time Jaye returns to her corner, both her eyes are beginning to close.

Round 5

And so it goers on, with Ryan just banging punches into Jaye’s face in flurries of anything up to seven at a time, while Jacobs just flails her arms around in aimless and hopeless fashion, and she seems to be just a walking punchball at this stage. Michelle walks her to her own corner, and keeps her steady, then bang, bang. Bang, she just thumps her with short, pulled punches, punches that hurt, punches that damage, but not punches that are going to knock Jaye out. Ryan is being cruel really – she’s ensuring that Jacobs will not want to be reminded of this night, and she again takes her to a corner, a neutral one this time, where she blasts her to the ribcage with a series of hooks, but still knowing not to floor the girl, just bust her up a little more.

Round 6

The referee looks hard at Jaye, and must be seeing some resistance in her eyes, as he lets this battering go on, with Michelle flipping left hooks into Jaye’s face from different angles now, stepping inside, punching her, moving back, punching her, sidestepping, punching her again. Into her own corner sags a bleeding Jaye Jacobs, surely beaten enough now – but no, the ref lets Michelle give her some more punishment, a left then a right, and that right hook has really relased some blood from somewhere, as it’s just running down her face – enough!

Michelle Ryan stopped Jaye Jacobs in round 6

Michelle showed a nasty side to her in this fight – she could have knocked Jaye out at any time after the middle of round 3, yet decided to give her a beating which will keep her inactive for a while. We’'ll never know what Jaye was saying to her, but we can be sure she’s regretting it now.
