All the trash talking is over, especially by Kate, and it is time to have a 'Battle of Britain'. The last one, maybe 6 or 7 years past featured Jennie Agutter vs. Christine Baranski and the Brit smoked the Yank big time.Thus it is 'get even time' for the U.S. The ref for this bout is Elke Sommer. Both gals are at mid-ring sweating profusely though Halle is giving Kate a powerful 'stare down'. They touch gloves and it is time to rumble following Elke's instructions.

Round One- Both head to mid-ring and throw caution to the winds as they commence slugging with all they have. Beckinsale connects solidly and buckles Halle's legs quickly with a wicked left hook. 'Slip those damn punches' screams Linda K. Halle bores in to Kate's body and delivers a flurry of hard combos to the Brit's solid lats. These hurt the English gal who backs up. The book on Berry is she is beatable based on her lack of stamina though she has twice knocked out Kozlowski in their hard hitting bouts. Firing more effectively Halle's gloves again find Kate this time across her eyes. Berry's jabs are coming quickly and bothering Beckinsale. Kate's patience is being tested as she is hungry for a knockout in front of her hometown crowd. Berry knows this and capitalizes with a brutal right cross to the exposed jaw of her opponent. Kate stumbles backwards and her eyes look glassy. The crowd is exhorting their gal to 'get with it' and show this Tawny Yank who rules the ring. Berry floors Beckinsale with a short left hook. Kate's ass hits the canvas and her legs shoot upwards. There is a look of fear and respect on her face as she rises at the count of 8.The bell sounds as Halle heads back to her corner with upraised gloves. She is glowing.

Between rounds- Linda is massaging Halle's body and face and warning her to concentrate. 'The gal is far from done so be careful'.

Round Two- Beckinsale has been told to use the ring and box Berry to wear her down. She begins circling the older American and using her ring speed and quick hands. She is flicking left jabs and clipping Berry around the eyes raising some welts. Berry waits patiently though and whips an overhand right which finds Beckinsale's left eye. Kate is hurt again and is backing up once more. The crowd is respecting Halle Berry's resolve and flashy boxing style as well. Kate is looking tentative at best while Halle appears the dominatrix. Berry once again hammers Kate with hard driven combinations to the face and Beckinsale is seemingly overmatched. 'What's up there hardass' chortles Halle. 'You got nothing do you?' laughs the Tawny one. Beckinsale is walloped down to the canvas once again. 'U.S.A., U.S.A.' goes up the chant from a section of the arena. The British crowd is getting overly restive now as their big hope is melting away. Suddenly Kate goes for broke and fires her entire arsenal at Halle. Her blows find their target as Berry's head goes sideways with sweat flying as Beckinsale's vicious right connects. The crowd is on it's feet now with something to cheer over. The bell rings with an even round scored.

Round Three- Halle is getting spent now and Linda is doing what she can to encourage her. The gals touch gloves and resume fighting hard. Berry's left drills hard into Kate as the Brit grunts in pain. Kate retaliates with a combo to Berry's head though as both gals have swelling faces now. Each has pain but it is time to step up and be counted. They are mid-ring with the crowd on it's feet cheering wildly as one clobbers the other with speed bag efficiency. Halle Berry backs up feeling it more as Beckinsale's youth is shining through. She is dancing in her black bikini and high heels bouncing on her feet as her right cross gets Halle flush to the jaw and sends the Cleveland, Ohio gal down hard on her ass. Berry is struggling to get up but her eyes are glassing over. Then she moans and rolls over on her face out cold. The Union Jack has prevailed over the Stars and Stripes on this independence day. Kate Beckinsale has claimed Halle Berry as her beaten victim.

Post Fight- Halle is congratulatory towards Kate at the table. Both have swollen faces but Kate has the smile. Linda K. and Halle depart London deeply disappointed in the outcome. Kate Beckinsale is elated as is Jennie Agutter who is now preparing Gabrielle Anwar for her third fight. Gabby has been nailed lately by Kelly Ripa after crushing Ann Curry in an earlier bout. The training goes on. Halle Berry is now contemplating retirement after this defeat.
