Boxing After Dark

Before: Moore the most reviled ex-daytimer star--achieving the kind of mainstream success most can only dream about. Demi known for launching comebacks with tune ups against Soap sluggers--it’s the usual Moore formula: small venue, she’s one or two good performances away from a title shot based on name recognition--only obstacle is tall blonde Eileen Davidson. Demi in neon blue bikini, long black hair, Eileen in neon orange bikini.

During R1: Demi a little brazen, walking straight in, getting picked up by Davidson’s heavy jab, then folded into Eileen’s breast as the blonde shamelessly clinches on the inside. Good tactics from Davidson as she scuffs Moore up on the outside, refusing to fight on the inside as Demi uncharacteristically accepts the clinch.

R2: Eileen stepping with her jab, really ramming it into Demi’s mouth and causing the brunette to lean back in consternation. Moore still not doing much defensively, showing no respect for Davidson loading up, leaping in with single shots. Midway through, Eileen. Drilling straight one twos, then palming up on Demi’s shoulders to keep her outside. Moore switches focus with a crippling hook to the ribs. Eileen reaches to clinch, and Demi leans into a crashing overhand right to drop Davidson to her back at the ropes. Moore prancing to the neutral corner--KO2 sounds about right to her--but Eileen struggles up for the mat to take 8. Demi wades back in and is met by a fusillade of lanky one-twos--Eileen struggling desperately and backing the brunette off as Moore can’t close the show.

R3: Eileen pesky with that jab--Demi’s catching it on her face and leaning back and to her right--it’s a mistake as Davidson is able to extend on blasting right hands to the jaw. End of the first minute, Eileen pumping stick, leans in and cracks a beautiful cross to the chin--she steps away el matador as Demi suddenly flounders forward to all fours. Moore I jeopardy--she gets up, thighs quaking, and Eileen pours gas on the blaze. Big, brawling lefts and rights--Davidson lashing Demi with wrap around haymakers--battering the woozy brunette senseless all along the ropes. Final minute--Demi wobbly butt--palming Eileen’s shoulders as the blonde chops long armed right hands over Moore’s outstretched arms and DEMI GOES DOWN AGAIN! Moore busted up in the mouth, staring helplessly on all fours--she’s saved by the bell as handlers rush in to revive her.

R4: Demi still badly hurt--comes out gloves at her temples, spilling forward in hopes of crowding Eileen. Davidson just slugging now--standing right in front of Moore, she pounds away between the mitts, stepping back to walk Moore into ruinous two-gun punching up the middle. Demi suddenly unravels! Breaking apart--her head starts to swivel as her guard droops--she continues to plunge forward into punishment and Eileen keeps swishing away with brisk lefts and rights. Moore tumbles past Davidson to hit the ropes face first on her knees and IT’S OVER! A shellshocked Demi Moore gives it up while staring dazedly out into the crowd--KO4 Eileen Davidson.

After: Did Moore get old, or just careless? Demi showing none of the defensive slickery she did against Shannon Elizabeth, walking into long jabs and right hands all night long and Davidson made good on her puncher’s reputation. “I’m sure she underestimated me,” crows Eileen in post fight. “She wouldn’t beat the top girls on any daytime show nowadays. it’s over for Demi.”
