Before: You’ve got to like Rinna here--years of hard sparring in the daytime battle-mills, world class skills and experience, and yet Aniston’s an intriguing opponent. “Jennifer’s one of the untapped talents in the FCBA,” notes one authority from Celebrity Ring. “She’s been pampered by her network--Cox and Aniston are rarely allowed to go hard in sparring--Aniston really only has a couple of money fights a year, and yet she’s consistent over-achiever. She stunned Sophie Marceau a few years back and usually gives a good account of herself. You have to make Rinna a beefy favourite in this matchup, but I’d bet the over for those inclined,” Jen in white sports bra, red boy cut spankin’ pants (recent movie trailer), Rinna in pale blue sports bra, navy boy cut trunks.
During R1: Rinna pressing the pace, making the fight, but Aniston giving a good account of herself in the exchanges. Both girls jabbing hard, then extending the left around the opponent’s hip, falling in with heavy right hands, trying to body the other girl back. Rinna;s busier, stronger--Jennifer competitive.
R2: Rinna puts her foot down, cleanly outboxing Jennifer midring with a spiteful jab, then edging in close to work the midsection with brisk rights and lefts. Aniston soaking up shock on her ribcage, belted pillar to post this round--she’s hurt by a Rinna hook on the chin, put wobbly butt near the bell, Shutout Rinna.
R3: Aniston combative off the stool, engaging Lisa I crowd-pleasing trade through the first two minutes, giving as good as she gets. Both girls strafing chin with hard right hands, cleaning up with come-back hooks chest and jaw--action toe to toe, but neither girl smothering, boith getting good extension on punches.
R4,5: Fight settling into recognizable rhythm. Rinna lively legged, stepping to spot around her jab, pounding in right hands and mopping up hostile hooks in the Aniston ribcage--she’s winning the exchanges, but failing to break Jennifer’s spirit. Aniston showing good resilience, often absorbing solid connects chin and body, regrouping in good order and making Lisa pay for the privilege. Jen showing good head movement, nice little shoulder-turn move to her right to slip Rinna right hands--big difference is the power: Rinna can hurt Aniston and move her; Jen’s arm punching.
R6: Solid shutout Rinna--every once in a while, Lisa shows her class, stepping up intensity, circling around a classy jab, opening Aniston up for drilling right crosses then cleaning up her body the hook.
R7,8: Expected Aniston collapse doesn’t happen--she digs in, fights in spots to nix Rinna finishing runs, Intriguing stuff--Rinna obviously a little frustrated--she’s moving in to push the pace and Jennifer’s doggedly trading with her, refusing to be bullied. Time and again, Rinna assaults bog down into tidy give and take, both women getting lumped up, ending with Rinna taking a step out to re-assess. Aniston’s strategy of letting Rinna come to her, then engaging her seems to be working--Lisa drops both rounds in spirited action. Both faces shiny after 8, Rinna bleeding from the nose, Aniston busted up inside her lower lip--it’s a fight.
R9: Another Rinna shutout--Aniston on her heels, dukes up, blocking punches, retreating--when Lisa shines, Jennifer can’t compete with her. Lisa working all 4 points of the compass, shearing in on Aniston to concuss the body thumping rights and lefts--Jennifer backs ou weary, gets her chin picked by opportunistic Rinna right hands.
R10: Lisa Rinna finally cracks Jennifer Aniston’s composure, wobbling the Friends star in the first minute with a crisp right cross, mopping up HUGE for the first time tonight. Withering assault along the ropes--Jennifer coming apart, sliding to her right, Rinna hard-eyed, stepping with her, extending the left to measure, then banging away rights and lefts at what’s left. Hard, hard 3 minutes for pampered Aniston, but she shows some grit--she takes as much flush punishment as she has in any round of her career and refuses to go down. Fights ends with Rinna simply POUNDING away rights and lefts as Aniston stands helpless in her corner, head rocking back and lolling after impact, weight shifting from one foot to the other--massacre continues on to the bell with the ref tackling a bloodthirsty Rinna at the break. Comes back UD10 Lisa Rinna.
After: Rinna gets work, pounds out a sturdy dime and leaves her foe badly battered after a huge 10th, but once again it’s a better-than-expected type outing for Aniston, Jennifer helped from the ring after everything falls apart late, but credit this girl’s heart: beating in the 10th was no joke, on the heels of a hard-working dime and Jennifer Aniston wouldn’t give Lisa Rinna satisfaction.
