BBU SUMMER MADNESS @ THE KO CLUB

Couple of new faces to the KO Club audience square off in the second fight of the Summer Madness event. Girls Friday's Zoe Lister makes her second BBU appearance after a bad beating she received against Kei Mizutani back in January while the Oz connection continues with Lisa Gleave looking to perform much better than her stablemate Isla Fisher in the opening bout of the evening. Gleave tore Naomi Watts apart on the ACB PPV debut and is slightly favored to win, but one expects Lister didn't wait so long for her comeback without a reason. She can definitely spoil the odds and turn BronzedOz's trip to London into a real nightmare!

There's instant dislike between these two though as Zoe shoves Lisa away during the referee's instructions; blonde supremacy on the line and nobody wants to yield an inch! The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls rip into each other straight off the bell, Gleave with a fine combo to the ribcage, but gets laced with a cross-hook on the mouth and right jabbing follow-up snaps her head back and forces to reatreat. Lister jumps after her, jabs to the stomach, flicks another right to the mouth and Lisa's guard is exposed. More head-snapping efforts follow and Zoe remains on the front foot, hassles the blonde rival across the ring for remainder of the round, blocks the response, makes the Aussie model look very sluggish and fruitless in execution. Lisa gives up any aggressive approach and is happy to weave along the ropes as Zoe continues to throw menacing shots around her head until the bell.

Round 2:
Lister quickly jumps after her rival, clearly boosted by the opening round, but Lisa ducks low, avoids a double hooking combo and cracks a sequence to the jugs herself; Zoe's caught off guard, but leans on the Aussie blonde, throws some low jabs albeit crashes off the forearms and Lisa flicks a half-uppercut to the breasts again, finds more range, shrugs off the clinching efforts and pummels Lister back with a spirited sequence to the body. Both girls take a breather, circle around each other, but remain steely-eyed and focused on the task ahead. Zoe looks more lively of the two, steps up and throws more shots to the head, Lisa's guard works much better now though and she sends the blonde English girl back with a righ hook that just caught Lister on the cheek. Gleave tries some more low action, but Zoe dances around her efforts and the bell halts the efforts alltogether soon afterwards.

Round 3:
Lisa charges off her stool, looks more confident after that steady previous round, but Zoe's up for the challenge, whacks a big left hook to the mouth, snaps the Aussie model's head back, but seemingly waits for her to go down on the canvas and it's not happening! Lisa leaps furiously, splits Zoe's mitts with a straight jabbing combo and sends low jabs to the ribcage. Lister's footowork lets her down briefly and allows Gleave to pummel her towards the ropes with a spirited charge! Zoe tries to break through with some shots to the head, but the Aussie blonde sends her rocking to the side with a big right to the ribs! Lister winces and covers up as Gleave unloads a series to the head and body and keeps her foe buried on the ropes. Wide slaps from the Aussie make some damage but Zoe hangs on until the bell albeit her aggressive approach took quite a dent in that round.

Round 4:
Gleave wastes no time and leaps after her rival, Zoe looks like she wanted some respite, but has no other option than to sqaure off with the fellow blonde again. Couple of jabs freach Lisa's jugs, but Gleave cracks a big right on the mouth and Zoe screams in pain, her arm was way too low to cover for that one and Lisa stuns with with a follow-up from the left. Right on the mouth and Zoe's hurt! Her lip starts bleeding as Lisa cut her up with that combo! Gleave on a rampage, notices the damage and pummels the blonde foe to the ropes with methodical blows to the body. Lister looks uneasy with that split lip, leaps to the side, but can't break the close range Lisa's comfortable with. More shots to the ribcage follow and Zoe's will seems to be evaporating with every single one of them! Gleave signs off the round with another low series to the midsection, Lister's arms drop low as she desperately tries to protect her aching guts, but gets nailed right on the chin as the bell sounds, Lisa just fired a mammoth uppercut and left Zoe hanging on the ropes in serious discomfort.

Round 5:
Zoe's lip has been patched-up, but she still looks dizzy after that previous round punishment. Lisa jumps after her and has little trouble with closing the distance, Lister's speed and agility not up to the standard anymore. Another series of jabs to the chest bends Zoe down and the blonde English girl can't responds at all, just backs to the ropes and takes more punishment as Lisa pounds her ribcage, flicks another uppercut... and one more... Zoe's mitts are all over the place and a big over hand from the right catches the cumbersome actress on the mouth again... DOWN GOES LISTER on her backside as her legs simply gave way underneath her!!! Zoe's bleeding from the lip again... wipes off the red liquid with her glove, pushes herself up at seven but eyes remain misty and Lisa rips into her immediately after the command. Another jabbing sequence to the stomach, Zoe leans back on the ropes, unable to move away from the danger zone or even clinch herself out of trouble. Gleave buries her under a barrage of shots, now just laying leather on the hapless foe, bangs her between the arms, under the elbows as Lister shows no signs of any sort of resistance and response. Left hook on the mouth sinks her further back on her knees, another right easily cuts through the guard and makes a total mess of the already wounded lip... Zoe's been battered into a bloody mess here and the ref jumps in, drags the Aussie model away and embraces the unfortunate loser... All over... TKO R5 Lisa Gleave!!!

Post-fight:
Aussie power finally succeeds as Lisa Gleave makes up for Isla Fisher's dreadful beatdown and dishes one of her own at the expense of the very brave but lacklustre Zoe Lister. English girl looked good when throwing some punches early, but once she got hit hard a few times, the fighting spirit began to go away and that split lip seemingly completely shattered her confidence. It's truly unfortunate because Lister looks as attractive as anyone in the flyweight division and it would be a criminal shame if she'd turn out to be the blonde version of Roxanne Pallett.

Final result: Lisa Gleave def. Zoe Lister TKO5.
