Couple of glamorous tennis players make their boxing debut and this clash promises to deliver a lot of fireworks. Russian Maria Kirilenko stole some attention with her Sports Illustrated swimsuit photoshoot back in 2009 and is widely regarded as the true replacement of Anna Kournikova among the tennis community instead of Maria Sharapova. Germany's Julia Goerges holds the distinction of having the biggest rack on tour, a reason to envy her by most if not all of fellow tennis players. Goerges has fuelled the focus on her chest assets by playing braless in several events held in the middle of the summer and backing up her looks by impressive results.

Kirilenko's hatred of the German brunette is obvious "I've done the Sports Illustrated gig, but I'd never go out dressed like a tramp on the tennis court. She's doing that on regular basis and quite frankly her jugs are not that impressive. OK, perhaps they are for now, but I'll pound them flat tonight and that's the last we'll hear of Goerges chest values for quite a while!"

Goerges response is a cold one as well "Kirilenko neither can play tennis or box. I will crush her to bits and leave unconscious on the canvas. I need a huge start to my boxing career and I know I can beat her up. She won't handle my aggression, she's nothing more than a weak punchbag!"

Round 1:
Goerges shows more aggression at the start, tries to bully the fellow newcomer into defence as she slaps wide hooks to the body and Kirilenko is forced on the back foot, unable to cope with this effort. Brunette continues to pepper the frightened Russian from mid-range and Kirilenko just weaves around in avoidance, circles back and forth and her weak response only grazes the German's body, but doesn't stop her charge. Late in the round Julia smacks the blonde's face with couple of more hooks as Kirilenko looked confused by all this aggression thrown at her and is relieved to hear the bell.

Round 2:
Julia continues her forward bite, peppers the subdued Russian whose performance is nothing like her pre-fight talk. Goerges closes the distance; whacks Maria in the stomach which almost bends her in half and backs her against the ropes with more jabs to the ribcage. Kirilenko drops her arms to protect her midsection and Julia immediately switches the target, nails her in the cheeks from both sides and rips into the hapless blonde with more jabs between the arms and straight in the tummy. Kirilenko winces in pain and Julia keeps her pinned along the ropes for remainder of the round as the fight is turning into one-way traffic with Goerges doing all the damage.

Round 3:
Russian blonde looks genuinely upset during the interval, she's done absolutely nothing in the first two rounds, but the fighting spirit and anger is still there and she lashes out of her stool, somewhat surprises the German foe and lands her blows before the brunette can pick up where she left off. Couple of overhand hooks give Julia a wake-up call and she's forced back after getting nailed on the cheeks. Kirilenko leaps after her and lands more jabs to the ribcage; roles have reversed and it's the Russian chasing her rival now as Julia sidesteps away from her blows. Maria lacks some agility to close her down though and Goerges thinks better of it, avoids any close encounters and leaves the blonde lacklustre in her efforts until the bell.

Round 4:
Kirilenko keeps coming forward and despite a solid start Goerges allows her to make all the moves. Maria's anger level has seemingly picked up and she finds more success with big hooks to the ribcage as Julia's footing lets her down on a couple of occassions. Blonde continues her chase for most of the round and Goerges loses her patience after almost getting trapped in the corner. Both girls square up to each other and land vicious blows to the body, but Maria cracks a great uppercut to the breasts followed by another to the ribs and Julia misses her combo to the head; leans back on the ropes and allows the Russian to further clean out her midsection. Julia moans in pain, tries to clinch, but Kirilenko uppercuts her rack, finds the desired target with the German stranded on the ropes and she's doing the damage! Several blows to the jugs make Julia groan even more before she can finally clinch late in the round. Maria keeps lacing her in the ribs despite referee's best efforts to shove her away and at the bell it's the brunette throwing thunders towards the blonde Russian. Kirilenko has finally arrived in this bout and hurt Goerges' pride.

Round 5:
Goerges is upset and wants to make up for the bad showing in the previous two rounds. She steps up to Kirilenko and throws several low jabs, but the blonde's confidence has increased, she covers up for those efforts and counters with another overhand hook from the right. Julia's head snaps back and Maria is lightning fast with the follow up, cracks a left under the elbow, works another right to the cheek and Goerges moans in pain; is forced back and Kirilenko shows superior power jabbing to the midsection which firmly relieves the brunette off her aggression. Maria with high hooks to the head, Julia all covered up in avoidance mode, leaps to the side, but the blonde is simply quicker, peppers her ribcage as Goerges leaves it exposed. Clinical punchfest from Kirilenko who makes her opponent look really sluggish and Julia wipes sweat off her forehead but gets another gut-check moments later Maria drives low with more jabs and backs her against the ropes. Goerges tries to clinch, gets nailed in the jugs before finally taming the onslaught with a left hook to the mouth. Blonde got slightly overconfident and Julia broke through but she's unable to follow it up as Maria forces a clinch which keeps them inactive until the bell.

Round 6:
Both girls breath heavily during the interval but ferocious action continues into the second part of this bout. Goerges throws more straight jabs, tries to cut through the Russian's mitts, but Maria leaps around her and responds to the ribcage. Julia's low guard keeps getting exposed and Kirilenko noticed that liability some time ago. Goerges closes the distance and throws more jabs to the chest but gets plastered with a left hook to the temple and wobbles badly as Maria takes over. She throws couple of right hooks to the ribs; brunette bends forward and covers up her head, but Maria sends a vicious uppercut and nails her in the jugs! Julia seeks a clinch, but Maria makes one step back and bangs another uppercut on the chest! Goerges is rocked on her feet and as she raises her head, gets a big left hook right on the mouth. DOWN GOES GOERGES flat on her back as her legs shoot in the air and she lands heavily on the canvas! Kirilenko yells out a victorious scream but looks on as the German girl gets up at seven and throws her a proper death stare. First blood, allthough not literally, has been thrown but Julia is far from being done. That left hook from Kirilenko busted up her lip and she's looking more bruised of the two, but the spirit remains and she jumps after the Russian immediately after the command, looking for revenge. Maria blocks her off though and keeps in mid-range with straight jabs as Julia is keen to make it to the bell to threat that lip wound. And she succeeds allthough the Russian scores a big round here.

Round 7:
Cutmen patch-up the brunette's lip wound but Kirilenko smiles viciously from the opposite side and talks to her cornermen in relative comfort. Julia keeps staring at her and notices the blonde's laid-back demeanour which angly raises her temper. Goerges storms out with mean intentions but crashes off the guard early and Kirilenko counters again, finds more jabs to the ribcage, works some uppercuts to the breasts and has the brunette moaning moments later. Goerges' determination shouldn't be questioned, but she lacks pure performance as fatigue starts to creep in and Kirilenko improved her mindset and execution. Maria lashes out at Julia's midsection with ease, punishes her ribcage and looks to land more blows to her impressive rack as well. German tries to grind something out but is forced to cover up as she can't jump away into safety and allows the Russian to dominate the close distance. Goerges manages to keep her high guard in tact until the bell but Kirilenko landed some realy vicious punches to the midsection and Julia suffered badly in this round. She walks very slowly to her corner and looks puzzled rather than annoyed by the Russian's repeated attacks. Maria looks much better physically and quite frankly never looked back since the third round whereas Goerges lost all the early momentum.

Round 8:
Goerges really struggling now, one minute intervals not long enough to make up for the empty tanks anymore as Kirilenko quickly closes the distance and blasts more jabs to the jugs, pushing the German back with ease. Julia keeps protecting her head, but the blonde continues the midsection destruction and it's equally successful as Julia can barely throw a punch in response now. Maria notices her foe's dwindling presence and ups the effort even more, cracks unanswered hooks to the chest and body as Julia is really taking a beating in the corner, moaning with very punch landing on her breasts and further bending forward, helping the Russian in her execution. Kirilenko avoids the clinch and nails the aching rival on the temple, Goerges wobbles to the side but manages to stay on her feet. More jabs between the arms and rack pounding follows though and it's a real demolition job at the brunette's expense. However Maria gets slightly annoyed by the fact she's unable to send her down and unloads single hooks under the elbow, now punishing the German's ribcage and at the bell Julia leans on the ropes, can't make it back to her corner and she truly looks done here. Kirilenko struts back to her stool and belives it's nearly over, just the final touch required to kill this one off.

Round 9:
Goerges remains glued at the ropes and can't avoid Maria pouncing on her like a vulture, more midsection punishment for the German and she's only raising her arms in protection, but Kirilenko does her routine, pummels the stranded foe with more hooks below the elbows, uppercuts her rack, flicks some jabs to the head and it's like working a training dummy, Goerges is battered beyond her limits and a right hook on the mouth finally relieves her of the misery. Legs no numb after that piledriver but Maria manages to crack one last hook to the breasts just as the brunette was already crashing down on her side. GOERGES HITS THE CANVAS and is left blubbering in agony as Kirilenko literally thumped her into the ground. Ref starts the count but Julia is not getting up anytime soon. KO R9 Maria Kirilenko!!!

Post-fight:
Maria flashes that Kournikova-like smile and raises both her arms in a winning gesture. After a slow start, she really showed some malice and it was too much for Julia Goerges to handle. Impressive destruction of the German girl opens new opportunities for Kirilenko with Maria Sharapova being one of the most obvious suspects. However the victorious Russian remains cool on her prospects: "My demolition of Goerges was just the beginning, I knew I can destroy her and that's exactly what happened. Of course everyone wants to fight Sharapova, but there are several other girls whom I can teach some lessons as well. I'm open to all the challenges and even if Kournikova comes out of retirement I'll be ready for her if she wants to fight me! I'm more than a pretty face and just ask Julia what she thinks of me now (laughs)".
