Pooja Shah has hardly taken the BBU by storm, losing all her five bouts so far to date, but she's up against a Marti's Maulers' blonde rookie Melissa Suffield and one thinks it's her best chance of scoring a maiden victory. However given the hard-fought nature of Sylvie van der Vaart's win in the previous bout, the Maulers' girls seem to be in much better shape than the Foxfire Atlantic stable has anticipated. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls waste little time and immedialely rip into each other, looking for an early break-through. Pooja jabs to the midsection, but Melissa, unlike her stablemate Emma Pierson goes for the head, swings several blows around the face and grazes the brunette in teh cheeks, goes around the guard and nails Shah on the temple inside the opening minute! Pooja's rocked, clearly stunned by that punch, but perhaps exposed as much as anything else given her record and she leaps back to the ropes as the blonde continues to send hooks to the head, now willing to break her mitts apart and Pooja's in real trouble. Suffield goes straight between her arms and nails her on the chest as Pooja winces badly and quickly takes more punishment. Melissa leans on her, throws a couple of uppercuts to the jugs, but soon cuts through the mitts and reaches the chin, snaps the brunette's head back. Massive charge from the blonde has left the brunette completely stranded. Suffield works more jabs to the ribcage, sways the unfortunate opponent on her feet and soon begins striking to the head again. Shah weaves around on her feet, but can't escape the close distance nor force a clinch. Suffield straight jabs through the mitts and connects with the nose. Three.. make that four blows catch the aching Pooja on the nose and there's blood... two minutes into the bout and Melissa cuts her rival up!!! Pooja sinks on her knees, covers up but serves as a punching bag and loses all her will... Suffield notices the blood pouring from her rival's nostrils and goes for more!!! Shah's arms drop as she's truly taken a load of punishment and it's a point-blank range execution. Left hook, right cross on the nose and the ref charges in... Pooja's sizzling green bikini is covered in blood and her face is one big mess as well. Get that timing checked... TKO R1 Melissa Suffield!!!
Post-fight:
Upset of the night? Upset of the month? Pooja Shah's record might be dismal but literally no one expected the unheralded rookie Melissa Suffield to produce this kind of performance! Quick look at the clock and the official timing was 2:17 of the first round! Fastest stoppage in the BBU since Mollie King battered Goergie Thompson back in February!!!
Melissa Suffield climbs the ropes and is truly over the moon with her maiden victory! She looks pretty innocent but has displayed some incredible punching skills and pounded Pooja Shah into a bloody mess. Meanwhile it's a very downbeat atmosphere in the Foxfire corner, Pooja has her nose patched-up and even the company of Sylvie van der Vaart doesn't help the sobbing brunette from really pondering on this defeat. It proved to be even worse experience than she endured against Jenna Louise Coleman recently but one must think nobody expected this from Suffield. Only time and future opponents will reveal how much does this victory mean in her overall prospects.
