BEFORE: "When I saw what Carmella did to Eloise," Olsen reports in prefight, "I knew I had to have Mumford. Decesare are similarly built - fight a similar style...I saw how Eloise could be owned, and I'm anxious to show what I can do on her!"
Mumford frowning at the still-fresh memories of her treatment at the hands of Carmella...she's not pleased with Olsen's analysis. "Decesare's a veteran fighter who would've beaten any ingenue in the world when she faced me," Eloise says defensively. "The idea that Olsen's bendy like Carmella, so she's going to stripe me like Carmella, is ridiculous. One look at Lizzie and I can tell I'm going to punch right through her. She better be tougher than she looks, 'cause when I start landing hooks...this thing might be over QUICK!"
Mumford in soft, quilted-pattern baby-blue bikini; white gloves; blonde hair loose/tangly. Olsen in "flesh" coloured bandeau bikini top; burgundy bottoms; black gloves; wavy blonde hair back in battle bun.
During R1: Mumford dukes at cheeks, looking to lay-in and bang...Olsen in wide-stance, slide-stepping to her right, hands out to either side about waist-high. Liz flicking out the jab while shying away to lure Eloise forward - idea being to buggy-whip Mumford's body that limber right hand as Eloise steps in. Mumford receiving lashes upon left flank/across tummy, but she's resolute in pursuit...by the final minute she's close enough to hook Olsen's chest, prompting smart clinches from Liz to bell.
R2: Same again: Mumford compact, covered up on the walk-in; Olsen lithe, using the ring, showing leg, keeping her hands low/arms loose and whip-rubbery. Eloise picks up the pace, getting on top of Olsen before she can slide away...leads to short, clubbing lefts and rights to Lizzie's head and shoulders as she's trying to bail. Elizabeth warned for pulling Eloise's head down; warned for using a Muay Thai neck-clasp on Mumford to whirl her off balance; warned for excessive holding...shutout round for Mumford doesn't do as much damage as a result of Olsen's crafty survival tactics.
R3: Two-way fighting evolves as Olsen creep-steps to her right, walks Mumford in and socks away succulent bolo-right uppercuts to breadbasket, winning hoots of approval from the crowd for the sinewy showboat punches. But Mumford's body absorbs stoically, and she's answering: short hooks/clubbing rights about head and shoulders; blunt right hands to midsection; chopping left hooks to right hip/flank. Olsen showy with her limber style and graceful power shots, but Mumford's consistent, grinding approach winning the minutes as Eloise walks through the panache.
R4: Olsen still creep-stepping to her right, but bringing hands up, narrowing her eyes...now she's jabbing off the shoulder for Mumford's brows, looking to sidearm buggywhip that right hand wide to flank or ear. Shades of Carmella indeed...jab slows Eloise's pursuit; whip-strike right hands to ear wallop Mumford out of orbit, causing her to stagger to her right. Succulent lashing rights to body have Mumford cringing now, backing away for the first time...she's hurt, drawing her elbows in, giving up her left flank to an even heavier commitment from Olsen. Elizabeth stalking Eloise over latter half the round - lithe blonde keeping the jab on Mumford's guard to set up that torrid, licking right wide to lats. Bell: Olsen with a fierce look in her eyes as she sees Eloise attempting to rapidly blink-away tears.
R5: Olsen continuing to torment with that supple right - bending torso-left to drag wide right hands LOUD against Mumford's left flank. Eloise gritting her teeth, walking through the storm...once inside, it's all Mumford - dipping left shoulder to DIG left uppercuts short to sternum; hacking short rights in above Lizzie's left hip; turning over short, muscular hooks tits and chin, beating Olsen into ropes for first time. Elizabeth a little ragged down the stretch, bogging Mumford down in long armed clinches to bell.
R6: Olsen lashing loose-limbed lefts and rights onto a crouched, tightly covered up Mumford...Eloise takes blows on arms/flanks, then erupts from crouch, hooking the mouthpiece right off Lizzie's teeth! Olsen in shock, stepping in fence post holes, covering her face...Mumford crowds with left hand on Olsen's right shoulder, walking her back while PLOWING her swinging rights to breadbasket. Punched to ropes, Olsen's crying out into her gloves - buttocks jumping up into ropes as Mumford bats away and DOWN GOES ELIZABETH! Olsen pitching forward, rolling to her back, bringing knees up...she's a stricken beauty as a seething Eloise Mumford stomps all angry-butt to neutral corner. Olsen up for a weepy 8, but she's badly hurt...job of work for Mumford to wade in, reach under Olsen's arms to stack her ropeside, then Oh My Lord, the body pounding! Mumford with knuckles pressed together at her chest as she dips torso-left, pops hips-right and rips the hook to Olsen's ribs, then it's dip-the-other-way to bounce the right off ribs. Mumford all strong-backed and stocky - buns ringing in her wide stance as she bashes away at lithe victim. First real gut-check of Olsen's career as these are fight-winning punches: Mumford asking hard, hard questions in the 6th. Brutal pound-down just pure shove-and-slug from brawny Eloise...she works up quite a sweat, but can't convince Olsen to quit. Bell: Elizabeth hugging her body, sagging into ropes all closed-eyed/opened mouth...Mumford gives her a grim once-over before marching back to port.
R7: Mumford on Olsen, bell to bell. Elizabeth mouth-breathing, wretched as Eloise takes her to ropes to continue work on that aching ribcage. Olsen regaining composure however - she's tying up head-and-left-elbow on Eloise, laying back on ropes for ref's breaks. Mumford grimly besieging her girl - putting head-in-tits and pumping hands-on-gut until Olsen can tie up. Brutal stuff, but Elizabeth able to negotiate survival, and proving durable...bendy body absorbing punishment well through 7.
R8: Mumford imposing will. She's got Olsen pressed against ropes full-time now. Olsen doing a good job hanging on - pulling Mumford's head down; tying up behind her elbows; laying back on ropes and getting the ref to move in. Eloise working hard in the clinch, constantly trying to wriggle free of Elizabeth's clutches, crowding close and banging the ribcage at every opportunity. Mumford warned for tousle-scrubbing as she repositions her head side to side across Olsen's face; Mumford warned to shoulder-butting with that left shoulder vs Olsen's tits. Bell: Olsen rag-doll limp, looking haggard and exhausted...Mumford stomping back to her corner all blonde-on-a-mission.
R9: Olsen trying to resuscitate her legs midring - flopping tired one-twos onto Eloise, then pulling away with hands down. Mumford reads well, steps-with, lunges into hook receipt to chin and DOWN GOES OLSEN! Textbook leaping hook catches Liz backing out, sprawling her to canvas on her back. Eloise grinning happily jogging to neutral corner to celebrate the knockout when OLSEN BEATS THE COUNT! Olsen jittery/rickety off the mat, but blinking herself awake under ref's watchful eye: Eloise visibly shocked that Olsen could shake off the shot. After 8, Mumford wades back in and OLSEN'S FIRING BACK! Elizabeth's legs dead at the apron, but she lays back into ropes to get the rubbery right uppercut off, then slap-clouts her left across Mumford's mouth as Eloise bores in. Mumford butting Lizzie's tits with her head, then pumping the gut hup-hup-hup...Olsen groaning, dipping her left shoulder down to lever Mumford off, then lapping at Eloise's tummy right/left. Back and forth - Mumford continually driving Olsen deep into ropes, beating her without mercy, only to see Olsen summon hidden reserves and answer lanky. Bell: both girls sobbing for breath, chests heaving, eyes hollow with exhaustion as ref moves in.
R10: Olsen shabby-legged, but able to creep-step to her right...Mumford plodding now, walking herself into Olsen's flicking up-jab, then cringing as Liz reactivates that vicious buggywhip right. Olsen just keeping her distance, walking Eloise in, then lashing her...Mumford weary, mitts at mouth as she folds forward, trying to crowd close. Olsen dipping her left shoulder down, bracing it against Mumford's guard, then pivoting-right while pushing off...nice little ring-management technique from a young fighter, keeping Eloise turning. Bell: fighters both drained...comes back UD10 Eloise Mumford.
AFter: Mumford's weight of shot and overall strength prevail, but pundits get a good look at the upside of young Olsen as she proves a fighter during some true adversity tonight. "She's no Carmella Decesare," Mumford qualifies in postfight, "but yeah - she surprised me with her toughness. She's very competitive; if you hit her, she wants to hit you back double. I thought I had her out, and she rallied - you have to respect that even if you don't like the other girl. But it's onward and upward for me - hopefully I can springboard off this win and stay active. There's talk of Jewel Staite and Anna Silk in my near future, and I wouldn't mind hammering it out with Erica Cerra or Emily Rose either. I'm not picky: just want more bodies!" |
