BEFORE: Shahi belligerent, not backing down in the face of Foxfire royalty: she pushes Carter in the chest; snarks at Harris; gets nose-on-nose with Hayden during first press conference. "These girls don't intimidate me," Shahi contends in prefight. "Everyone talks about Hayden's big youth advantage over me, but all I see is my rigorous DCC fitness and discipline advantage! I will give a fresh Texas whuppin' to this kid - you watch. Girl won't know what hit her, and by the time she finds out? I'll be strut-walkin' that ring with my pearly whites flashin' and my hands held high!"

Hayden non-plussed, but used to such antics by now. "If I had a dime for every girl who said she wasn't intimidated by me!" Hayden quips. "Sarah's being a pain, but I know it's an act: she's slick, she's quick, and I have to get on her early and make her feel her age. She's not going to get me off my game with this pre-fight stuff - I'm too smart for that. What this girl is going to have to do is fight - I'll make sure of that. She can leave the tricks for cheerleader camp!"

During R1: Hayden rattling Sarah out of the gate - scooting across ring, tattooing Shahi a tic-tac-toe straight-punching combo, pasting away on face to put Sarah on the defensive. Shahi wide-eyed, pressurized around the ring - Hayden scooting in and out, letting hands go, bouncing her elder off all four sides o' the ring. Down the stretch, roll-and-counter cutey-pie right hand for Sarah catches Hayden mid-flurry...blonde girl tugged up onto her toes by her chin and PANNY'S HURT! Panettiere wobbly-butt, glassy eyed: Sarah hooks the gumshield off Hayden's teeth, then pastes her an extra right cross to chin, sending Panny stumbling back to ropes. Bell: Sarah grinning big, making giant bolo circles with her right hand as ref steps in. Shahi steals the first.

R2: Hayden shakes off shock, gets right back after Sarah. Shahi face-spanked by abrupt, straight-punching combos...she's hopping to her right along apron, trying to shake rapid blonde pursuit. Hayden intense - darting in on Shahi, pelting her swift lefts and rights in whirling combos: brunette clouted about both jawlines; hooked hard to her ribs; dosed straight right hands square to tummy. All Hayden, but down the stretch, nifty hook/right hand counters off the ropes score for Sarah, staggering Hayden; extra left hook clips blonde chin and PANNY'S HURT! More left hands clip chin for Sarah - short, licking uppercuts stunning Hayden...she's wobbling on the spot, reaching for Sarah, taking stiff right hands on the mouth as Shahi fires from the pocket. Hayden slugged to ropes in a fog: Sarah squares away, lets hands go and steals the second round as she did the first. Shahi being very crafty with her ingenue through 2!

R3: Sarah able to hold ground now, fighting in a tight counter-clockwise rotation as girls bob, weave and slug. Action-packed and classy - girls dipping in and out, always moving heads and hands. Down the stretch, Hayden beats Sarah to a short right hand inside and SHAHI TAKES A KNEE! Lovely brunette's right knee touches down as stocky Hayden gets her buns into a heavy jolt...blonde girl skips away all happy as embarrassed Sarah stands up quickly.

R4: Shahi shakes off shock, then handles a brisk first minute from Hayden - jabbing blonde-girl while sidestepping the pressure. From minute mark on it's Sarah turning Hayden's left flank - Shahi all frosty-eyed, tight-lipped as she sticks Hayden's face straight, swift one-twos. Hayd punched onto the defensive - bobbing on the spot; pivoting to keep up...Sarah outclasses Panny to regain initiative following the knockdown.

R5: Hayden trying to penetrate and work, but Sarah's legs denying all attempts. Shahi sliding to her right, keeping the jab on Hayden; stepping back to draw Hayden forward, then lighting her up swift, pasting rights and lefts in combination. Panny showing crossed arm, face perplexed as she's constantly forced to regroup after face-pasting.

R6: Vintage Sarah Shahi sees her turn it up a notch and start helping herself to Hayden Panettiere. Hayden a confused beauty - right at left cheek/left tucked up into right armpit as she bobs on approach...Shahi spearing the jab head-and-shoulders on Hayd, keeping her defensive. Slap-chopping rights from Shahi prey on Hayden - punching across her brows, scuffing her up. From the midpoint on, one-twos from Sarah freeze Hayden in crouch: Shahi able to step in on left (lead) leg and HOOK blonde breadbasket - really digging into firm tummy-meat. Down the stretch, ringing combo goes right uppercut (chin); swatting left (jugs); whirling right (jugs); left hook (liver) - putting Hayden wobbly butt! Hayd sputtering on the spot, hugging her body at bell: smoldering Sarah looks things over with the disdain of a Persian empress through 6.

R7: Hayden shakes off her worst round - showing trademark depth-of-reserves. She up-tempos, crowding Sarah - unintentional clash of heads puts Shahi on her heels; Hayden's whirling, smiting fists claim steadily head-and-chest on retreating brunette. Sarah disheveled, shell-shocked...Hayden just bobbing and slugging and darting in and out - small-mitted fists spanking away at will. Relentless pressure proves too much...Shahi staggers to her right after a walloping right claps her cheek late...she's staring, hurt when Hayden jumps in close, getting brawny left shoulder behind a stubby hook to SIT SARAH DOWN! Shahi blown onto her glutes, sitting up all forlorn and blinking...Panny struts past, glaring down with the world's most furious pout at bell.

R8: Too much Panny! Hayden roaring out of the gate - fists strafing criss-cross patterns across Sarah's front, slugging her into ropes. Shahi alarmed, stunned, trying to slap back punches, but she's getting TAGGED as Hayden darts in and out with power. Minute in, Hayden's crisp right cross beats Sarah's wan right uppercut: head-snap Shahi and SARAH GOES DOWN! Shahi hurt on all fours, not quick to get up this time...Hayd jogs all a-jiggle to neutral corner, colour-high, eyes alight. Glassy-eyed 8, Sarah: ON COMES HAYDEN! Whirling mayhem ensues - Hayd just butt-back and letting her hands go - whirling, savage assault just shredding Sarah's defences, knocking her back into ropes. Sarah sagging - forehead in the crook of her right elbow/left hand tucked into right armpit...her legs give way under the beat of Hayden's fists, putting Sarah on all fours again. AGAIN Shahi beats the count - cut in her mouth, blinking sleepily, but she's refusing to quit. Hayden wades back in, slaughters Sarah's chin via overhand swinging right...Shahi ragdoll-lolls against ropes, hands dropping to her lap. Hayd torques out of her crouch, kissing Sarah a goodnight hook to chin...Shahi just facing into punches now, taking 'em flush and THE REF STEPS IN! TKO8 Panettiere as Sarah relaxes into official's arms, out on her feet.

After: Panettiere jubilant, coming from well behind after brilliant Shahi offensives nearly pull off the upset. "She IS a clever one!" Hayden admits in postfight. "And brave. You get up off the canvas twice in one round and you've got heart - can't take that away from her. You know, my team has challenged me to fight like the pound for pound best fighter in boxing they think I can be, and that means no hiccups - no losing to girls like Sarah Shahi, you know? I buckled down for this one; didn't panic when she jumped out to the lead and was showcasing on me a bit. I know in my heart that I'm too much for most girls, and that they WILL fall if I stay strong. Sarah couldn't break me, and I finished her...that's the way I want to do all my opponents now!"
