After being unable to find suitable opponents across Great Britain in recent months Lioness Club's Karolina Kurkova for the fourth time in her career decided to face Australian opposition in person of current ACB lightweight champion, Rachael Finch (Wildetime Boxing). Kurkova won both her fights against Jennifer Hawkins but suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Krystal Forscutt and it's really hard to predict how she's gonna fare against the best Aussie lightweight on the One Year Anniversary Card tonight.
Karolina Kurkova wearing a red bikini and black gloves. Rachael Finch wearing a blue bikini with white stripes and yellow gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1: Both girls start without much venom, circle around each other throwing single punches to the body. Finch gets more aggressive first, lands some shots to the ribs, gets behind the elbows but Karolina responds well, nails her on the cheek with a high hooking effort and the Aussie brunette steps back. Both continue to circle around, retreat into single striking causing little damage for remainder of the round.
Round 2: Kurkova works the high jab to the head but the Aussie ducks underneath and counters with some low jabbing herself. She peppers the blonde's ribcage, avoids more hooks to the head and whacks the Czech model between the arms, nails her rack, flicks an uppercut, fully unloads that ACB title winning power forcing Karolina back. She continues to keep her retreating with single jabbing to the head as the blonde looks wary of the threat it poses and refuses to engage in a vicious punchfest so early in the contest.
Round 3: Finch finds her rhythm, keeps Kurkova at bay with accurate single jabbing, avoids her response as the blonde struggles to land a noteworthy combo in mid-range. More trouble for the Czech model follow as she gets tagged in the mouth as Finch pierced her mitts with relative ease. Karolina can't close the distance, crashes off the guard with some chaotic attack and leans back on the ropes as Rachael throws a flurry of shots to the head making the blonde look rather subdued and very upset over lack of progress. Brunette hopes to land more shots along the ropes but Kurkova clinches and escapes serious trouble. Finch catches her with some low jabs to the ribcage in the final seconds and maintains her slight advantage over her blonde rival.
Round 4: Aggressive charge from the blonde model, she tries to catch her foe off guard with a burst of speed but Rachael leaps back and forth in avoidance, allows Kurkova to only graze her flesh and counters with a big left hook on the head followed by a right to the stomach. That combo bends the blonde in half before Finch pushes ber back to the ropes with more vicious low jabbing as Karolina moans in painm, unable to drop her guard in time to protect herself. She struggles to handle the ACB champion's display and just covers up as Finch opens up from both flanks, rocks her with a hooking double, cross-hook her mitts and bangs across the nose. Kurkova tries to sidestep away from danger but antother jab between the arms pins her to the ropes and Finch quickly buries her under a flurry of shots to the body which are only halted by the bell.
Round 5: Kurkova clearly feeling the heat already, bides her times along the ropes but Finch smiles back at her with little sympathy. She begins to hassle the blonde model across the canvas and Karolina can only duck away from her shots, unable to take over the momentum and the brunette's footwork is also superior, enables Finch to close the blonde down and inflict fuurther damage around the midsection before a frightened looking Czech is able to finally move away but Rachael looked like she was toying with her in the final minute and allowed her to catch a much needed breather.
Round 6: Finch drops her arms to the side; she teases the blonde to finally come forward and Karolina has no choice really, she tries to close the distance but keeps cutting through the air with her efforts as the brunette turns on some agile footwork. She responds with accurate jabs to the body, flicks some hooks to the head and Kurkova is forced to retreat, unable to tame the onslaught. Finch with methodical display, continues to wear her down with straight jabbing to the head and the blonde just keeps covering up and retreating until the bell. She shakes her head as she walks back to her stool, the ACB champ completely shut her off so far tonight.
Round 7: More of the same in the seventh, Karolina tries to close the distance but gets shut off early, crashes off the guard before getting laced in the ribcage with some vicious low jabs. Finch keeps her stranded in the middle of the ring, snaps her head back with more straight jabs, subsequently backs her against the ropes where she pounds her between the arms, lands a solid hook to the stomach as Karolina winces in pain again. Rachael ups the tempo along the ropes, rocks the blonde's head back and forth with ruthless jabs and Kurkova is rooted to the spot, just takes a load of relentless punishment until the bell. She walks slowly to her corner with her face bruised badly after that one-sided exchange in the final minute.
Round 8: Blonde's slow off her stool as Rachael switches into higher gear instead, vultures the aching rival, rocks her on her feet with more jabs to the body; chaotic footwork from Karolina prevent her from stepping off the striking zone and Finch nails her with couple of hooks on the temple. Kurkova wobbles, leans forward, gloves can't stay in tact anymore as the brunette lands a straight left between the arms right on the nose.. DOWN GOES KURKOVA!!! Lehs shoot up in the air as she lands heavily on her back! Ref starts the count as the blonde eventually gets up at seven. Her face all busted up now and on the verge of a very torrid result, but ref gives her thumbs up, basically exposes her for more rough treatment from the ACB champion. Finch pounces on this opportunity in no time. Karolina is rooted to the spot, unable to step away as Rachael pours in with couple of overhand rights on the nose. Loud groans from the wounded blonde, low sequence of jabs bends her in half, she desperately tries to clinch but the brunette has other ideas. Finch shows no mercy, snaps her head back with more precise jabs and the blonde's arms go numb. She gets pummelled back with couple of more hooks on the mouth straight into the arms of the onrushing referee who has no choice but to stop this fight on the spot.... TKO R8 Rachael Finch!!!
Post-fight: Supreme performance from Rachael Finch who just battered Karolina Kurkova into submission with some clinical display of boxing. Girl doesn't look like the next best thing in lightweight but the nature of her eight round tormenting of otherwise a very solid opponent cannot be overlooked by the experts and fans alike.
As soon as Rachael's hand is raised in winning gesture, the group of five 200 lbs bodyguards arrives in the ring and prevents Denise van Outen from concluding a post-fight interview with the winner. However the lead BBU TV reporter shares her personal opinion with the Barnet audience and the BBU TV viewers all over the world: "I must say I was impressed by Finch's performance tonight. She looked like she couldn't hurt a fly let alone someone of Kurkova's experience but she pounded her for best part of eight rounds and walked away a deserved winner. I reckon she could be a real handful for some other BBU top names and I hope Rochelle Wiseman, Helena Mattsson or Malika Menard will offer her a challenge soon. Finch is simply too good to spend another eight months on the sidelines!"
Final result: Rachael Finch def. Karolina Kurkova TKO8
