After the initial bout with Juno Temple fell through, Emma Bunton's rival on her comeback is Garnet Gunners UK's Amanda Holden, another blonde long-absent from BBU action. Holden fought three times last year but couldn't find a single opponent in 2012 before Bunton issued a challenge. The blonde Spice Girl makes her return after a torrid beating she suffered at the hands of Dannii Minogue back in March which was slightly avenged by Geri Halliwell's triumph over Minogue on the first event of the Anniversary card couple of weeks ago.

However Bunton wants to finally make amends for that horrible loss herself and regain some winning form. Holden's current form remains unknown but with this unexpected opportunity one must think she'll give her all to convince everyone she was rightfully invited to take part in the Lioness Club Anniversary event. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both women cautious at the start, visibly lacking confidence in execution, single shots to the body mark the opening round with Emma trying to work some precise combo but with little effect. She flicks couple of hooks around the head but Amanda blocks those efforts and responds with similar jabbing, causes hardly any damage though and the round concludes on a very low-key fashion.

Round 2:
Bunton with more aggression, nails her rival under the elbows, bangs couple of jabs to the stomach but Amanda responds with a high hook on the temple, follows up with some jabs to the ribs and forces the singer back. She then works single striking from mid-range as Emma ducks and weaves around her, counters with singles punches to the body herself but lacks precision and the fight has turned into a cagey affair. Neither girl seems keen to ignite some pace, just wait for better opportunity but the safety-first display is met with little applause from the crowd which begins to jeer loudly at the bell.

Round 3:
Holden tries to get something going, snaps Emma's head with an early hook, bangs a shot to the stomach, uppercuts her on the gloves and the singer clinches, whacks the older blonde on the ribs, pushes her back to the ropes where Holden manages to land a quick hook on the temple and force Bunton to lean on her. Ref separates them and Emma sends a flurry of hooks to the head, Amanda ducks under them and sidesteps away, counters to the ribcage herself but Bunton ignites some speed and nails Holden between the arms, splits her gloves and unloads another series to the midsection. Amanda covers up and fakes some low jabs before throwing a proper hook over the top which skims off the gloves though and Emma strikes back, nails the older girl's ribs with a series of hooks. Holden winces in pain and leans back at the ropes as Bunton pierces through her arms, peppers her chest and stomach and Amanda can't stop moaning now, taking some heavy leather. Bell finally halts Emma's progress but she's ignited some spirited action to this hitherto boring contest; Holden unable to cope with that in a straight-forward punchfest.

Round 4:
Emma buoyed by the previous round, leaps after Amanda with mean intentions. She misses couple of early hooks and Holden answers with some jabbing to the chest. She tries to land something on the head but lacks accuracy and Emma steps to the side in avoidance. Single shots from mid-range follow but Emma ups the tempo, fakes a low jabbing, throws a hook instead and nails her opponent on the temple. Amanda covers up again, leaps to the ropes but gets trapped in the corner and eats some leather on the guts as strikes with low jabs and pins her on the backfoot. One-dimensional execution from the singer, she works the low jabbing on repeated basis however Amanda struggles to handle it, unable to step away from the danger area, tries to clinch late in the round as Emma runs ouf of steam and drops her intensity. Not a bout of the highest order but perhaps that was to be expected given both girls' troubles in recent months.

Round 5:
Credit to Amanda, she surprises her rival with some fine jabbing to the ribcage just as the crowd began to believe Emma broke the deadlock in her favor. Indeed Bunton seems as much caught off guard as anyone when a big hook follows and whacks her on the temple and Holden rushes in with more jabs to the body but lacks venom neccessary to put the singer in real trouble and Emma clinches her allthough gets tagged with another big hook on the mouth just before that. Amanda with low jabs in the clinch, gets shoved away by the ref and goes for more shots soon, but Emma's quick on her feet and moves away to safety. Holden tries to reach after her, wobbles forward as she fails to connect, loses her footing and it's Bunton on the counter, whacks her on the cheek with a big right hand and goes over the top with a left follow-up. Holden gets nailed clean, wobbles even further, struggles to keep her balance and Emma pierces her guard with couple of hooks on the nose and sends her spinning back to the ropes. Amanda ducks to the left, Emma guessed right though and staggers her with another straight right hand on the nose! HOLDEN GOES DOWN TO HER SIDE!!! That last shot from the younger blonde really had some power behind it and crowd errupts upon Amanda's hard landing. However she's quick to get up, indicates she hasn't been damaged all that much and the action resumes soon. Emma goes after her skims off the gloves though and Amanda counters! She throws a big right that catches Bunton on the temple, left hook on the liver, another right on the nose and Emma wobbles back to the ropes herself as Amanda pours in with more venom! More jabs to the body follow, Bunton covers up, bends forward under some shots to the stomach and Holden uppercuts her guard, hoping to avenge the knockdown but a moaning singer survives this late push from her rival and the fight has really come alive now, Holden struts back to her stool in good shape while Bunton looks upset, having allowed the older blonde to come back strongly after a seemingly disastrous knockdown. It's still anyone's for the taking!

Round 6:
Holden wants to keep the momentum going and jumps straight after her rival but Emma received a heavy pep talk from coach Gina Wild during the interval and lashes out at Amanda herself, both girls quickly trade leather in the middle of the ring like couple of short-fused youngsters. Emma skims off the gloves more often as Holden works the straight jabbing better, nails the singer on the nose, snaps her head back and cleans out the rack in the proccess. Bunton jumps back but eats another big right over the top and her face has developed some bruising here as Amanda goes all-in with some low jabs to the ribcage, she just buries her foe under a spirited barrage and pushes her back to the ropes where couple of uppercuts on the jaw leave Emma stranded and covering up in visible discomfort. Amanda throws some wide slaps to the ribs again but finally runs out of steam with the singer still upright as Bunton is relieved to catch some respite after a difficult round. They remain locked in a clinch to see out the final seconds but it's more problems from the Lioness corner as Holden's stubborn performance is causing them some headache tonight!

Round 7:
Amanda keeps coming forward but struggles with precision and more importantly speed as the fatigue seems to be getting to her quicker than her blonde opponent. Emma is happy to let her wear out, bides her time and refuses to engage in close distance. Allthough she took quite a pounding in the previous round, she's seemingly in better shape as she landed some shots on her own before that and affected Amanda's condition in considerable fashion as well. Low-key round concludes with lacklustre single punches to the body with both women saving some valuable energy before the final stretch and they enter new territory as neither has fought for eight rounds before and the fitness handling remains unknown.

Round 8:
Emma makes the first move, shows more aggression and laces Amanda on the ribs before switching up high and snapping her head back with some straight jabs through the mitts. Holden tries to respond but misses her shots to the face, crashes off the guard and gets nailed with a big left that splits her gloves and catches on the nose! She winces in pain, leaps back but Emma fires a quick series to the ribs, bangs an overhand right to the eye and leaves her foe stranded on the spot. Left/right combo follow up and Emma pierces the mitts again, bangs a couple of unanswered jabs to the mouth and Holden loses her footing, gets whacked in the stomach by another low follow-up and GOES DOWN ON HER KNEES moments later, just crumbling down under the onslaught. She struggles to get up at first, but eventually beats the count at seven albeit holding her tummy in visible discomfort. Bunton pours in with a jabbing sequence to the head, Amanda covers up just unable to respond but she's in slow-mo action, gets nailed on the cheek before a big hook shatters her gloves and lands on the nose again. Holden gets clobbered big time here, moaning in pain as Emma bangs another big hook on the nose and AMANDA CRASHES DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK one more time in quick succession, just can't handle the burst of venom thrown at her! Impressive execution skills from the blonde singer and the crowd goes ballistic. Holden in real trouble beating the count, she's truly hurting now, rolls on her face, tries to push herself up but she's slow.... very slow... nope... she won't beat the count! She remains on all fours as the ref reaches ten.. KO R8 Emma Bunton!!!

Post-fight:
Emma looks relieved more than happy as coach Gina Wild embraces her mid-ring before quickly checking up on her as there are several bruises on her otherwise pretty face. Amanda Holden really give her a solid test especially in the fifth and sixth but just couldn't make it count on the long run. Gutsy performance from Bunton in the eight finally broke down Amanda's resiliance as the older blonde perhaps looked for one more round of low activity before finally mounting her last challenge for victory. Emma unloaded her own artillery and knocked her out before she could though.

The younger blonde indeed recovered quicker to perform the all important attack and the five years age difference could have just decided this tight affair in her favor. Nonetherless this was Emma's longest bout to date and she looked vulnerable, a desired sight for some of the BBU opposition. WIth this kind of performance a much younger Juno Temple seemingly would have no problems with knocking her out, something she still might be able to do as Emma took her refusal personally and still intends to teach the Foxfire Atlantic blonde a vicious lesson in the future.
