BBU: LIONESS CLUB YEAR ONE ANNIVERSARY PART III

(LIONESS CLUB VS BEEVER'S BABES)

The second fight of the night features couple of hard-punching bantams with Melanie Brown looking to avenge her recent loss to Alesha Dixon against her Beever's Babes' stablemate, Jennifer Metcalfe who lost a close decision to youngster Danielle Harold just few days ago and wants to regain some winning form as well. It promises to be a really tight encounter with neither woman favored by the experts before the opning bell. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Brown with a quick start, jabs to the body but crashes off the guard and is forced to duck around Jennifer's single jabbing response. Metcalfe eager to make up for the Harold loss, counters to the ribs and forces the singer back with some accurate execution. Mel looks to come forward but can't break her opponent's guard and gets laced under the elbows instead as Metcalfe finds her range and keeps Brown retreating in avoidance until the bell.

Round 2:
More straight jabs to the body from Metcalfe, she's quick on her feet as well and Mel looks sluggish with a spirited but lacklsutre efforts, cuts the air repeatedly as Jennifer is simply too agile for her, barely grazes the flesh as Metcalfe targets her head, crashes off the guard early but flicks some shots between the arms later, throws more hooks up high and snaps Brown's head back. More high jabbing force the singer back and Metcalfe just hassles her around the ring for remainder of the round, keeps the older woman on the backfoot, peppers her midsection with single jabbing and Mel just can't do anything about it thanks to her inferior speed across the canvas.

Round 3:
Mel opens up, tries to lace her opponent under the elbows but she's much slower than Jennifer who counters over the top and bangs her on the cheeks instead with a double hooking combo, pierces her gloves with an uppercut follow up to the chin and Melanie truly gets staggered on her feet as Metcalfe whacks her on the ribcage, throws another jab between the arms and nails the aching singer on the nose. Mel moans in pain; flurry of shots to the body push her back to the ropes moments later as Jennifer unloads some heavy leather to the midsection. Brown can only cover up, tries to duck away from the onslaught but the younger girl has other ideas. She clobbers the hapless singer in the stomach again, throws a series of overhand shots from both flanks and Mel just sinks on her knees. She looks for a clinch, but Jennifer nails her on the nose with another effective hook... and there's blood coming out of Mel's nostrils now as Metcalfe pours in with more jabs to the head! Brown winces in pain, unable to tame the barrage and Jennifer lands more vicious blows to the face! She literally pulps the singer into a bloody mess with a furious display of primal rage! Badly swollen Mel turns to the side as Jennifer nails her on the mouth again with a big left hook. Brown falls back on the ropes with her eyes closed but Jennifer wants more, she keeps throwing single jabs to the head, now skims off the ears more often, but it makes little difference as the blood stream from Mel's nose is getting bigger and bigger... Ref charges in and stops this one, perhaps a little bit late as there was no chance of Brown lasting until the bell in one piece... TKO R3 Jennifer Metcalfe!!!

Post-fight:
Incredible finish from the Beever's brunette who just pounded Melanie's nose into a bloody mess! Quick check from the doctor indicates that Brown escaped a serious injury or a fracture but Metcalfe looked like a woman possessed once she unloaded some vicious blows in the third. "Forget about Harold!", proud brunette says post-fight, "I couldn't believe I lost to this nobody and Mel B? Well, she's too old for this now, I've exposed her pathetic defence and by the ammount of blood that came out of her nose I judge I did pretty well tonight! I reall wonder how long she lasts before she finally retires! I've simply crushed her!"

Mel B refuses to speak with the media after this horror-show and quickly disappears in the locker room. She perhaps underestimated Metcalfe tonight and paid a heavy prize for that error. Lioness head trainer Gina Wild is furious but Jennifer's words might be ominious as several upstarts should target Brown now that she's been so badly exposed by both the Beevers. first Dixon and Metcalfe tonight. It's hard to predict where Mel goes from here but it has been her worst defeat in BBU to date.
