This match-up perhaps comes as a surprise because Marion Cotillard has shown little in her brief BBU career so far to attract the interest of the former bantamweight champion Jessica Schwarz. But the German is quick to point out the reason why she issued a challenge to the fellow brunette: "She's the only actress in BBU which has won an Oscar and that's kinda big! I bet all those soap opera wannabes would be getting laid all over the country if that could have guaranteed them a prize like that! Marion draws big numbers, cashes in Hollywood like no other and that's more than enough for me to give her a proper beating! She might be a better actress but she's not a better boxer!"

Cotillard indeed comes with that Hollywood aura attached to her but refuses any pre-fight interview. She knows Schwarz is the overwhelming favorite tonight but just like in the movie industry, she intends to give the best performance possible and perhaps cause the German some trouble in the proccess. Jessica Schwarz is understood to take another swing at her arch nemesis Alesha Dixon soon, so a solid test from Cotillard might just be the best way of preparation before reviving her long-standing duell with the Beever's Babes singer. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Former champion wastes little time and buries the Frenchwoman under a barrage of shots early as Marion tries to answer back with some venom but a couple of hooks on the cheeks make her think otherwise quickly and jump back in avoidance. Jessica maintains the early pressure though, jabs to the body, flicks few shots on the head and allthough Cotillard's guard holds up well, she gets pummelled around the ring, struggles to land any shots on the German herself, just leaps back and forth in survival mode. Schwarz single strikes over the top, speed and precision are rewarded as Marion's head snaps back repeatedly and late in the round the French brunette starts to moan already, feeling the effects of a relentless barrage thrown at her. Schwarz whacks her in the ribs just before the bell and that visibly takes the breath out of the Oscar winner who looks concerned by the level of opposition as she walks slowly back to her corner.

Round 2:
Jessica remains calm despite her early dominance and starts to work her rival over straight from the bell again, Marion tries to keep the distance but her attempts are futile as the German quickly closes her down and peppers the ribcage, flicks a straight jab between the arms, fakes an uppercut before going around the gloves landing clean on the temple. Cotillard just takes a load of punishment in close distance, unable to jump away from her German nemesis and stumbles back to the ropes soon as more leather catches her on the stomach. Jessica whacks her on the liver, splits her mitts with a solid cross-hook and laces on the nose as Marion sinks on the ropes for good, moaning loudly in pain. Schwarz doesn't stop though, straight jabs on the mouth, snaps the French girl's neck back and forth as Marion wants to keep her gloves together, but Jessica just shatters her with a series of jabs, breaks through and nails her on the nose again... COTILLARD CRASHES TO HER KNEES and bends her head across the canvas as she crumbled under a vicious barrage. Schwarz strictly business upon the knockdown, waits until the fellow brunette gets up and Marion beats the count at seven only to eat more leather soon afterwards. Ex-champ snaps her head back with another jabbing series, bashes her in the ribs, bends forward with a precise gutwrencher and the French brunette doesn't stop moaning, just endured a vicious pasting here. Schwarz with a right over the top nails her on the temple and rocks her to the side. Left hook on the liver, gloves drop down a bit, right hook on the nose and Marion's arms drop to the side and SHE SLIDES DOWN ON THE CANVAS AGAIN... just buckles under the ferocious display of power from the German girl. She gets up on all four at five, launches herself upright at eight and just beats the count allthough her eyes look very misty with several lumps around her otherwise pretty face. Ref allows her to continue as she leans back on the ropes but Jessica just smiles back at her and nods her head in approval. Did she think Cotillard was over and done with after that second knockdown? Most people in the audience thought likewise and it's perhaps a sign of professional courtesy that Jessica refuses to attack her wounded rival in this round anymore and Marion looks mighty relived she's survived this terrible round but one must think it's merely her swan song now.

Round 3:
Cottilard tries to salvage some pride as she jabs to the body early but Schwarz easily blocks her off, counters with a left jab to the liver and the aching French girl winces again, too slow to react properly, allows Jessica to land more vicious jabs to the stomach and follow it with a left hook on the temple. She's rooted to the spot in the middle of the ring after that one as Schwarz ditches all the courtesy and pierces her guard with a jabbing sequence, snaps her head back, nails on the mouth and cuts her lower lip open in the proccess. Marion bends forward, tries to clinch but the German's agility is superior; she ducks to the side, throws more hooks to the ribs, flicks a high right on the mouth and blood starts to flow down Cotillard's chin now. She covers up again but Jessica targets her liver again, bends her to the side and nails with another hook on the temple after which Marion wobbles back to the ropes with her eyes closed... Ref steps in!!! He drags the battered French girl to the side and checks up on her wounded lip as the former bantam champ threatened to repeat Jennifer Metcalfe's bloody punchout of her rival... TKO R3 Jessica Schwarz!!!

Post-fight:
Heavily mismatched contest between the two brunettes but the Academy Award and Hollywood endorsements were too much for Jessica to ignore. Having such a prolific actress on her resume is nothing to be ashamed of even considering Marion's below-par performance tonight. "Nobody will remember how weak she was", Jessica tells Denise van Outen back in the locker room, "Everyone will remember me beating a frickin' Oscar winner though and that's all that matters. I understand that chubby airhead Alesha Dixon wants to have a shot at me again as if all her recent losses didn't teach her anything! Whatever! Dixon comes, Schwarz wins! Pretty simple, huh?"

Intriguing logic from the German brunette on both matters but perhaps it's hard not to agree with her on the French actress. Cotillard is definitely capable of winning a lot of fights in BBU however at this stage of her career, she's no match for the former champion and learned about it the hard way.
