"WITCHES, PUMPKINHEADS AND BLACK CATS AT THE ASYLUM' PPV
Posted by Results By Sim/Words By Wiz on October 31, 2012, 9:24 pm
BEFORE:
O'Dell: "Camera zeroing in on the Bazz box. And LINGERING there, giving our fans a good look at the Bazz beauties dressed in various sexy outfits for the occasion..."
McCarthy: "I don't see SCABBO up there..."
Tess: "Don't sound happy about that, Mac. Because, when it comes to CASSIE, it's better to KNOW where she is..."
McCarthy: "I'm not afraid of..."
"And they called it puppy love, I guess they'll never know..."
McCarthy: "I need to wash out my EARS..."
Tess: "The song you're hearing, of course, is 'Puppy Love', written and originally performed by Paul Anka. Anka wrote the song for Annette Funicello, whom he was dating at the time. Anka's verson hit number 2 in the U.S. in 1960. The version you're hearing, though, was released by Donny Osmond in 1972. It hit number 3 in the U.S. and topped the charts in both Canada and the U.K. Interestingly, the B-side of the Osmond single was "Let My People Go". The Osmond version was also central to one of pop music's stranger stories. Legendary DJ Robert Morgan played the song for 90 minutes straight on KHJ in Los Angeles in March, 1972, leading the LAPD to mistakenly raid the station after numerous complaints from listeners..."
McCarthy: "I can't listen to this for THREE minutes, let alone 90. But check out the body on that masked Viking warrior coming to the ring. She could almost be a Playmate..."
Tess: "Vikings lived in the the North. I doubt they showed that much SKIN..."
O'Dell: "Into the ring and helped off with the mask and robe...and rocking that red bikini is movie star and Bond girl Eva Green!"
Tess: "Another debuting fighter. The only question now is, who will she be debuting against?"
"I'm sleeping and right in the middle of a good dream. Like all at once I wake up from something that keeps knocking at my brain. Before I go insane I hold a pillow to my head. And spring up in my bed screaming out the words I dread...
I think I love you I think I love you..."
McCarthy(singing along): "I'm sure I HATE this..."
Tess: "The song Mac hates is, of course, 'I Think I Love You', the number one hit by 'The Partridge Family', though only two cast members of the television show 'family' actually performed on the recording of the song, David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. Studio musicians played the music. The song has been covered by artists as diverse as Perry Como and Voice Of The Beehive. Interestingly, among those who covered the song is David Cassidy's daughter and FCBA fighter Katie Cassidy..."
O'Dell: "That's a LOT of info off the top of your head, Tess..."
Tess: "Of course, 'The Partridge Family' television show, on which the song was featured, was loosely based on The Cowsills, a real life family singing group that had million-selling hits including, 'The Rain, The Park, and Other Things', which hit number two in the United States, 'Indian Lake', which reached number ten, and "Hair', which, like 'The Rain, The Park, And Other Things', hit number two."
McCarthy: "I KNOW something's up Walmart, and I'm going to find OUT what it is. Meanwhile, check out the masked brunette coming to ringside in a revealing gypsy outfit..."
O'Dell: "Into the ring, helped off with the mask and costume, and, in that baby blue bikini that's 'The Portugese Princess' Daniela Ruah!"
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "The ladies getting ready to go, and let's get some predictions. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Well, as you know, I think Ruah is overrated, like most of the Dancing Hookers, but Green is, well, GREEN, never having fought in the FCBA before, so I think you have to favor Daniela."
O'Dell: "Tess?"
Tess: "First, Ruah isn't overrated. She's had four fights since coming to Front Street. In one, she won eight of ten rounds from Odette Yustman and hurt her repeatedly. The other three lasted a TOTAL of eight rounds. As for tonight, Bond girls are tough. But 'NCIS' girls are tougher. Ruah is bigger and more experienced and she'll win by TKO."
O'Dell: "We're about to find out. There's the bell to begin the first. Ruah advancing behind the Front Street jab. Green in a high guard, circling...AND DOWN SHE GOES! RUAH WITH A BOOMING RIGHT HAND AND GREEN KNOCKED FLAT TO HER BACK IN THE FIRST 30 SECONDS!"
Tess: "Shades of a young Jeri Ryan!"
McCarthy: "Referee could time this with a sundial..."
O'Dell: "Count is at five. Six."
McCarthy: "He could close his eyes and count to a hundred like hide and seek..."
O'Dell: "Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! And your winner by KO1 is 'The Portugese Princess' Daniela Ruah!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I'm with our winner, Daniela Ruah, and, Dani are you LATE for something?"
Daniela(smiling): "I'd say 'The party doesn't start until I walk in', but that's Ke$ha's line. Seriously, though, she's athletic and she can hit. I wasn't trying to let her hang around. The plan was to get her out of there as quickly as possible."
Tess: "You're getting a reputation as quite the knockout artist..."
Daniela: "Oh, I'm no Adrianne Palicki or Big Bad Gena Lee. But, if I hit 'em, they STAY hit." |
