Before: gritty blonde from “Leaving Las Vegas” and “The cooler: hook up--it’s a nice little veteran 50-50 for two hard workers. “if my character from ‘The Cooler’ got into a Casino fight with Shue’s tramp?” Maria muses, “I’d kick the craps out of her--and I think that’s what you’ll see when we do it for real. She’s really only got 3 scenarios: quit, go out, or suffer. I don’t see how Liz can keep dragging her ass out of bed each morning, knowing what’s coming.” Shue equally confident, equally disparaging of her foe. “Maria couldn’t have handled my role in ‘Leaving Las Vegas’--couldn’t have held her own across from Nick--she’s a poor man’s Elisabeth Shue at best. And speaking of asses--I could have done with a whole lot less of Bello’s wrinkly old butt in ‘The Cooler’. Best I just put boot to it once and for all.” Liz in tan push up bra, black almost hipster cut bikini bottoms--Maria in black push up and panties, white lace trim.

During R1: 18 square foot ring wasted on these curvy beauties--both step-to and start chugging from the get go. Girls with forward looking blocking guards--both like to push and bump, turn the other slightly to the side, then tuck something tidy into exposed ribs. Girls laying in and working hard temple to temple, shoulder to shoulder, grinding it out slutty on the inside, working tummies, tits and chins with chopping, clouting strokes. Slowly, but surely, Shue’s backing Bello up--it’s equal give and take, but only one girl’s consistently coming forward. Beefy bump and slug with Bello’s back to the ropes, girls putting together 2s and 3sm but Shue really cleaning up on Bello’s stomach. Maria wincing, hanging in at the very end: Shue clapping a series of hooks loud to belly hammers out a close first.

R2: More shoulder-bumping, head-grinding, tidy-swinging toe to toe action. Both have a nice, snapping hook to right-side ribs, bouncing mitt loud off the body. Both dig a nice short right hand flat amidships, carrying in with their bodies to sink it in, It’s like twin sisters going at it, both making the same choices, same balance and compact form. Neither much for jabbing, but when they do it’s well-considered--just a stubby little poke, step to the side, then back in hard. Once again, Bello can’t hold her ground--Shue’s stepping her back, taking the punishment just a little but better, dishing it out just a little bit firmer, Liz with a nice series of curling rights: uppercut, clouting to the jaw, another on the jaw puts Bello sideways to the ropes late. All Shue to the bell as she cleans up: head down, shoulders pumping as she hauls in thumping rights and lefts to the waist of an increasingly shabby Bello.

R3: Girls push into each other, tucking in body punches, wedging in short chops to jaw over protective shoulders, nudging and bumping each other back--crowd getting pennies-a-punch action from these two. Shue really clapping hooks to belly, trying to wear Bello out, but midway through, Maria turns the tide. Bello with a thick right hand to the midriff, then a turning tight right on the temple has Shue leaning forward--Maria gies to that racj with beefy intention, Heart-stopping jug mugging, crowd roaring to its feet as bello grits her teeth, stands up in her stirrups and lifts short-shrugging lefts and rights into Shue’s bra. Elisabeth startled, put off her game--she takes her first backward steps as Bello pancakes those puppies like a champ. Shue’s back to the ropes, stooped forward, covered up--Bello opens up on her with swinging hooks behind the elbow, curling work up underneath, clouting rights behind the head, At the bell, Shue’s shook: Bello takes the opportunity to chest up and force eye contact--Maria really halting Shue momentum in it’s tracks this round.

R4: Maria beating Shue to punches midring, getting off thick to the body, short to the head, using her left shoulder to bump and extended left elbow to prop--she’s working Liz over. Shue not punching back, trying to hold her blocking guard together, but those thumping body shots are crumpling her, backing her up, Liz pout to the ropes early--she’s frozen, just wilting there as Bello hooks her heartlessly to the side, bumps her, picks her up tit and chin tidy uppercuts. Midway through, Shue gets caught hooking with Maria and Elisabeth’s curvy legs give way, spilling her wide-eyed to her left along the ropes. Bello hopping forward--straight right to stabilize then turning over that hook--she’s catching Liz flush on the jaw now, swiveling her head--Shue hit’s the corner in a daze. Bello squaring up to unleash--straight poking rights to set her body for vicious, shattering hooks head and body that poor Liz Shue just can’t take. Savage left-hand connects systematically reduce Liz to a staring wreck in seconds--head lolling weak on her neck, body sitting slumped on the turnbuckle--Maria’s just feasting, helping herself and THE REF STEPS IN! Snarling Maria Bello pushed back--Liz is cradled, protected from further abuse. TKO4 Maria Bello.

After: Stunning conclusion--most presumed that both women would go well into the late rounds, subjecting each other to grueling punishment en-route, but Bello’s hooks breaks Shue’s will early. “She can really sock from the left side,” says a downcast Liz Shue, all lumped up in post fight. “She caught me that first flush hook and I couldn’t feel my legs--I just couldn’t get out of there.” Bello all grins--meat and potatoes blonde just reeling her opponent in and pounding her out in satisfying style: “Putting Liz out was delicious--just the look in her eyes when it dawned on her she couldn’t take it! I think that puts me at the head of the class when it comes to Liz, Jenny Garth, Kelly Ripa--girls like that. I’m coming into my own and I think when promoters are putting together a show, I’m going to be getting the call before those other curvy types and that’s a good feeling. It’s about time!”
