The capacity crowd roared their approval of the event as it reached its momentous conclusion, with Lookout! Boxing able to pull out the victory and preventing a tie, which would've necessitated a tie-breaking match. Yvonne Strahovski is mobbed by her fellow stable members from both sides of the pond, who is clearly excited to have participated in a decisive victory for her team over international music star, Rihanna. Rihanna is clearly upset in her corner, but is reassured by her stable that she has nothing to be ashamed of. Yvonne, once she is able to separate herself from her team mates for a moment, comes over to tell Rihanna the same and congratulate her on a great match.
However, the post-match handshake attempt goes awry as some arguments break out between members of each stable. Some notable arguments occur between January Jones and Elisha Cuthbert, Amber Heard and Missy Peregrym, Jennifer Ellison and Doutzen Kroes, Michelle Keegan and Nina Dobrev and Yvonne Strahovski and Rihanna, who misinterpreted Yvonne's gesture entirely. It's obvious that there is some ill will between the fighters involved in the various matches and even Debby Ryan gets heated, though is restrained by former cast and stablemate, Brenda Song. The crowd cheers to see some post-fight antics, which seems to occur at Lookout! events with some frequency but thankfully is prevented from turning into a full scale brawl by members of both security details and management. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are more harmful than helpful, but regardless of their assistance (or lack thereof), things do calm down before it gets any worse.
Overall, the fighters are in good spirits though its clear there will definitely be more matches between them once things calm down. Yvonne is able to explain herself to Rihanna and although things are not entirely friendly between them, handshakes and hugs are able to be exchanged. Official photos are taken of this joint FCBA-BBU event, which will no doubt be sold on the websites for the FCBA, the BBU, Beever's Babes and Lookout! Boxing. A big step forward for international relations for celebrity boxing and one worthy of celebration for all stables involved, not just Lookout! Boxing Lookout! Boxing and Lookout! Atlantic definitely have a champagne fueled celebration backstage for their big victory, but afterward, all four stables go out to a restaurant to have a meal to commemorate this first Ryder Cup Invitational event and hopefully the first of many such events between the stables. Just as a precaution, the entire restaurant was rented out.
Just in case.
After the meal was completed – successfully - the fighters exchanged hugs, handshakes and in some cases, contact information to stay in better contact with each other in the future. Fighters from Beever's Babes and their US counterpart as well as Lookout! Boxing and their European counterpart sounded determined to cooperate more often in the future, whether here in Europe or in the United States. A very promising start here for future international events but eventually, all good things must come to an end as the fighters headed on flights back home (some flights shorter than others) to prepare for the next FCBA or BBU event that they would be involved with. This year, however, in the inaugural Ryder Cup Invitational, Lookout! Boxing won 7 to 5. Congratulations to Lookout! Boxing and Lookout! Atlantic on their victory.
(Of course, a big thanks to Beever's Babes and Beever's Babes US for putting this together as credit for this event should really go to them and for working with us on such an exciting event. To all of the roster members, management for both stables, stadium crew, staff from the BBU and FCBA, security and everybody associated with the event, a well-deserved congratulations to each and every one of you.) |
