The event kicks off with couple of flyweights making their second BBU appearance. Debut fights brought differing results as Jacqueline Jossa was knocked out by Georgia May Foote after a gruesome contest while Rhiannon Fish impressively destroyed Hannah Tointon. Despite those results, Jossa looks more intimidating compared to her Aussie rival as she's four inches taller and one might question Lioness Club's schedulling with Rhiannon's skills still somewhat unknown as Tointon was a solid test for a debut fight but not exactly a household name over the long haul. If Fish wants to confirm the high hopes pinned on her by the Lioness executives, she needs to dominate Jossa and most preferably knock her out.
Jacqueline Jossa wearing a red bikini top, white leather mini-skirt and yellow gloves. Raven-black hair loose. Rhiannon Fish wearing a black bikini top, white leather mini-skirt and red gloves. Brown hair in loose curls. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Some fans in the Wembley Arena are disappointed that Fish didn't wear her yellow and black bikini made famous on 'Home & Away', but she's making up for that void early as she ignores Jossa's reach advantage and peppers her ribcage with lots of aggression, forcing the younger girl back. Indeed it's a clash between two of the youngest members of BBU, Fish just 21 and still one year older than her foe. Jacqueline responds well to the ribscage pounding and flicks some hooks around the head, the longer reach makes the difference and Fish gets laced couple of times on the cheeks and has to step away, dropping her agressive approach in the second minute. Jossa's slower on her feet and fails to make further inroads as Rhiannon circles around her instead and works the single jabbing, but both girls settle down in the final minute and continue with the single punches until the bell.
Round 2: Fish goes to the midsection again, obviously she's followed Jossa's debut clash with Georgia May Foote who inflicted considerable damage to the her ribcage and perhaps it's Jacqueline weak spot as she winces in pain having been caught by the Aussie's low efforts. She responds with more hooks to the head, but Rhiannon weaves around them and ducks under the elbow, whacks a solid combo to the ribs one more time and Jossa doesn't look that comfortable at all, allows Rhiannon to close her down and score more jabs to the tummy before finally forcing a clinch. Jossa laces her foe on the kidneys and gets a warning from the ref but Fish is unmoved by this foul, keeps her focus and works the single jabbing to the midsection, but it's getting predictable now and Jacqueline hardly raises her guard, knowing that her rival won't target the head anytime soon. Fish crashes off the forearms with some fruitless attacks late in the round but she's only got herself to blame for applying this one-dimensional tactics.
Round 3: It's Jacqueline's turn to go offensive and she uses her reach advantage to land couple of hooks on the Rhiannon's cheeks and the Aussie actress is forced to cover up early, but still takes more punishment as Jossa unloads more venom to the stomach, breaks through the arms and peppers her breasts. Fish leaps to the ropes but loses her footing, bends forward but Jacqueline finds the low jab to the guts and a left over the top goes around the gloves and nails the Aussie on the temple. Jossa rushes in with more jabs to the head but gets carried away by the fact her foe is stranded on the ropes and skims off the gloves and allows Fish to clinch her as they wrestle in the corner before the ref steps in to separate them. Jossa with a left hook on the cheek, catches the guard with the follow up from the other side and Rhiannon pummels through with low jabbing to the tummy, ducks to the side and escapes from this dangerous position into center of the ring. Jacqueline is annoyed, but she's finding it tough to stamp her authority in close distance; unable to really stretch out her limbs and Fish keeps circling around her until the bell and it's still anyone's for the taking.
Round 4: Another forward move from Jossa but she fails to connect with her opponent's flesh as Fish's speed and agility advantage starts to become more visible and seemingly annoys the younger brunette even further. Jossa throws more fruitless hooks to the head before pausing a little but Rhiannon counters and lands a double hooking combo on the ribs and jumps to the side, signalls Jacqueline won't be allowed to take any respite. Girls walk each other down in the middle of the ring, but Jossa peppers the guard and looks concerned by possible low counters from the Aussie brunette and the action calms down a lot with neither girl able to take the upperhand. More faked jabs in the final minute but no clean shots and some people in the audience begin to wonder whether this will possibly go the distance. At the bell there's nothing separating the two brunettes and even their faces show little signs of battle wounds despite twelve minutes of boxing.
Round 5: It's uncertain whether either of the girls really wants to take this one to the cards and Jacqueline comes with more agression in the fifth, still looking to break Rhiannon's resilience with her longer reach but the Aussie girl hangs on with her bulletproof guard, wears the younger girl down for best part of two minutes and it's almost hard to watch Jossa crashing off the gloves all this time, unable to pierce through and hurt the Aussie rival. Jacqueline's desire and commitement is beyond question but pure skills let her down and in the final minute Fish comes back after weathering that storm, closes the raven-haired actress down and lands more shots on the ribs and Jossa doesn't really like that, you can see it in her eyes and Rhiannon has noticed that as well, she keeps lacing her down low and pushes the younger girl to the ropes where she continues with the barrage until the bell halts her progress and Jossa looks hurt, holds her midsection in pain and slumps down on her stool with eyes closed. Meanwhile Fish shakes her head and coach Gina Wild is shouting at her regardless of that late push which clearly gave the Aussie actress the edge.
Round 6: Rhiannon wants to know how much damage she's inflicted on Jacqueline's midsection and pours in with more low jabs, closing the distance quickly and surprising the raven-haired girl in the proccess. Jossa looked for some respite but like the Aussie indicated before, she won't be getting any and Fish ducks under some high hooks aimed at her and gives Jacqueline a solid bruising in the first minute which firmly puts the younger girl on the back foot. Jossa tries to counter but misses her efforts against a much quicker rival, leaps back to the ropes but Fish goes all-in and whacks her on the chest, bends forward and rocks her head with a well-placed uppercut on the chin! Jossa moans in pain, covers her head up, but exposes the midsection and Rhiannon is quick to pounce, hammers the ribcage and leaves Jacqueline moaning loudly after two minutes. More venom from the Aussie follows, she just bashes the hapless rival to the body and Jossa is stranded, unable to repond, hopes to see Rhiannon wear out and drop her attacks, but it's not happenning as she hasn't damaged her enough so far tonight and Fish looks in top shape late in the sixth, cleans out Jossa's ribs until the bell and punches the air as she walks back to her corner. Jacqueline's reach and height advantage suddenly became useless and she continues to nurse that midsection pain as she checks upon the bruising inflicted on her ribs and they're visible reddened indeed.
Round 7: Jossa is slow off her stool and Fish goes after her with mean intentions fuelled by Gina Wild's advice during the interval. Aussie girl easily closes the distance and fakes some low jabs as Jacqueline just hopes to protect her ribs but gets caught with some high hooks on the cheeks and falls back to the ropes within seconds of the bell. Her footwork is equally suspicious as the state of her ribs and Fish bashes her to the body, looks to break through the mitts again, but flicks an occassional hook on the ribcage which leaves the raven-haired actress moaning. Jossa tries to respond with some single jabs over the top, but is slow in execution and exposes herself even more as Rhiannon whips a left hook on the chin, rocks her to the side and follows up with a right hand on the navel and the knees give way for Jacqueline who bends forward, but fails to raise her arms in time and gets nailed with a right hand on the nose and blood spills from the nostils as JOSSA CRASHES DOWN ON HER KNEES!!! Big punch finally underlined Rhiannon's increasing advantage but Jossa was badly exposed and fell victim of a text book put away. She scrambles herself back upright at seven but the eyes are gloomy and she's bleeding badly, her red bikini top covered in dark stains but the ref doesn't call for the medics! Fish swings more hooks after the command, laces her aching rival around the gloves and straight on the temple as Jacqueline just covers up and tries to hang on until the bell, but eats more leather as Fish pierces her gloves and snaps her head repeatedly, giving that nose a real hammering. Jossa caves in! She drops her arms to the side and starts to blubber as Rhiannon bashes her to the chest and pins to the ropes and it's getting very messy inside the final minute but a left hook on the cheek sends the raven-haired girl flying to the corner post and the ref finally shows some mercy as he grabs the raging Aussie girl around the waist and drags her away into the neutral corner! It's all over and Jacqueline Jossa leans across the ropes, sobbing in pain as she finally embraces the nature of her defeat. TKO R7 Rhiannon Fish!!!
Post-fight: Ref finally allows the medics to attend the beaten actress and Jacqueline's nostrils are jammed with the tampons but that bikini top requires some washing with all those stains visible and marking the outcome of this fight. Meanwhile Rhiannon is hugged by her coach Gina Wild before turning back at her fallen rival and Fish keeps staring at Jossa which makes one wonder if she plans some post-fight humiliation but no, she decides to leave the younger girl alone as she confirms in an interview with Denise van Outen: "I've made my point by busting up her nose. That wasn't exactly the plan, but I knew I can hurt her to the body and once that happened I was just went with the flow. Sure, the start was kinda slow, but she's 5'7" and that's always a tricky combination at flyweight. I'm just happy that I beat a much taller girl like her and I can't wait for my third fight already! Several other girls are making a push in the division right now but I'm taking it easy! Building my reputation is more important than some one-off fight against a top name. I can wait for my turn, no problem!"
On the other hand Jacqueline refuses to talk with Denise and in fact she wants to disappear from Wembley Arena as soon as possible. She ignores even looking at the Aussie brunette and leaves the ring holding an ice-pack to her nose since the tampons started to leak and obviously the bleeding is more serious than considered before. No wonder she's upset, Rhiannon exposed her badly tonight and gave her something to think about along with that bloody nose. But there's no question Jacqueline will be back, a 5'7" flyweight can't be reduced into a cumbersome punchbag just like that!
Final result: Rhiannon Fish def. Jacqueline Jossa TKO7.
