Just like in the opening fight of the night, these two girls are about to participate in only their second bout of their BBU careers. Elizabeth Tan returns to action after eleven months on the sidelines having suffered a very tough loss to Amy Childs on her debut last December. Meanwhile Teresa Palmer scored an impressive KO4 victory over fellow Australian Nicky Whelan few weeks ago and looks to continue her development under Lookout! Atlantic Boxing banner. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Elizabeth Tan wearing a white bikini with red stripes and red gloves. Teresa Palmer wearing a navy blue bikini and yellow gloves.
Round 1: Both girls charge in and Palmer swings a left hook on the temple... Elizabeth is rocked by that one straight away and falls victim to a double hooking combo from the right which cleans out her cheek and DOWN GOES TAN HARD ON HER BACKSIDE!!! Crowd errupts in joy as the blonde threw three punches and floored her rival already but obviously it's not good enough to prevent Elizabeth from making a comeback. She raises quickly off the canvas, perhaps too quickly, and indicates she's perfectly OK to continue despite her pride taking a severe knock. Teresa doesn't plan to waste any second here though and throws a flurry of jabs to the head and Elizabeth must cover up immediately after the command and her footwork is suspect as well as the blonde closes the distance and peppers her guard before firing some low jabs to the ribcage. Tan moans in pain, struggles to tame the onslaught and gets pushed back to the ropes where Palmer continues to clobber her and despite all her efforts, the brunette just can't catch a break here; she ducks and weaves on her feet but gets nailed between the arms with a big left hook and another one catches her on the eye just before the bell and as Palmer struts back to her corner, the brunette looks woozy and not exactly aware of her whereabouts.
Round 2: Palmer with more venom, closes the distance seconds off the bell and lands a left hook on the cheek followed by a right on the temple and Tan just can't keep her away. She tries to respond with some single jabs to the head but the Aussie slips around them and counters with a ribcage pummelling combo which bends the brunette to the side, left hook over the top and another on the temple and Elizabeth's knees start to give way. Teresa misses a left hook but quickly makes up for it and whacks a right hand on the nose and TAN GOES HARD ON HER BACKSIDE AGAIN!!! Gym training-level for the blonde who finds no problem with putting her rival down and it's taking all the fun away from the Lookout! corner. Hold on, there's some commotion in the audience as Rosie Jones makes her way ringside and takes a front row seat but one must wonder whether she's here for Teresa Palmer, her Lookout! Atlantic stablemate? Denise van Outen is quick to get a word with Miss Jones but more on that later...
Meanwhile back in the ring Elizabeth manages to scramble herself upright at seven and wipes the sweat off her nose, also checking whether there's some blood being spilled, but luckily for her she's survived that punch without any damage if only for a short while. Because here comes Palmer again clubbing jabs to the midsection and Tan jumps to the ropes, gets trapped in the corner though and just caves in as the blonde snaps her head back with wide slaps and there's no stopping her now, big shots from both sides force the brunette into loud groaning and Elizabeth drops her arms, sinks on her knees and THE REF CHARGES IN!!! He quickly grabs Palmer by the shoulders and prevents a heavy knockout as Tan was starting to go away here after taking a savage beating! TKO R2 Teresa Palmer!!!
Post-fight: Impressive win for the Australian actress but she was handed a poor rival on a golden plate tonight. Elizabeth Tan looked bad against Amy Childs (hardly a BBU powerhouse herself) last year however couldn't even land a single punch against Teresa Palmer on her comeback. If the Chinese-British girl wants to make a career in celebrity boxing she needs to improve as quickly as possible or else we won't see her in the ring for another eleven months again.
Teresa hardly broke sweat in securing her second career victory and as Rosie Jones applauds her from the stands, Denise van Outen talks with the brunette glamour model to find out why she's arrived in Wembley Arena: "It's obviously because of Sam Cooke! The girl wants to become my minion in a so-called Team Rosie I'm sure you've heard about it lately? (Denise nods in approval) Yeah, Terry did a fine job, didn't she--- Ooo hi there Terry!!! Wanna join me? (and now Palmer nods back from the ring and makes her way to the Lookout! Atlantic seats)... where was I? Ah, yes.. Team Rosie of course! Let me tell you Denise, I'm so excited over this project! So many girls want to improve their skills under my leadership and I know Sam Cooke won't disappoint me! In fact, I bet some money on her winning this one before the sixth? Is that like illegal? (laughs and giggles as Denise van Outen shakes her head in response to indicate it's perfectly legal) Very well then, I hope there's enough time for all of you to make some bets as well. Remember Sam Cooke is a future star!"
Rosie's praise of Sam Cooke's skills always took the spotlight away from Teresa Palmer but the actress remains calm after joining the LAB seats: "That was quick, Denise and I almost feel sorry for that Tan girl. I think I've ended her career before it even began!" Is there anything else we can add to that? Back after these commercials for Sam Cooke and Charlotte McKenna!
Final result: Teresa Palmer def. Elizabeth Tan TKO2.
