Sabrina has fought very little since losing the BBU welterweight crown, and suffered a shock defeat to Nicola McLean in just 5 rounds, which was followed by humiliation. Laury is a tall girl, but has no real pedigree as yet, so Sabrina will be looking for a comfortable win tonight.

Into the ring come the girls, with Laury in a pink bikini, and Sabrina in a bottle green one piece outfit – both girls look they want to fight!

Round 1

The girls are seeking each other out here, both jabbing and staying behind their jab, with Laury moving well, snapping Sabrina backwards a few times by using her height and reach. Sabrina takes the French girls jabs, though, and starts to fight back, finding the taller girl’s chin with some clubbing shots as the round draws to a close, and she starts to take her on, starts to move her around the ring, putting her where she doesn’t want to be, and it’s Sabrina controlling the fight by the bell.

Round 2

Sabrina’s bristling with aggression, and she gets in as close as she can to the taller Laury, whipping some heavy blows into the French girl’s body, and she works the young beauty queen into a corner. But Laury’s not content to stay and be battered, and she slides herself sideways and off the ropes, out into the centre of the ring, then gives Sabrina a couple of good jabs. Sabrina smiles a little, but now Laury makes the use of her height and reach, stands off Sabrina, and boxes her quite beautifully, giving the singer plenty to think about, finding her with either gloves, while Sabrina just can’t get inside to land anything worthwhile at all.

Round 3

Sabrina’s still trying to get inside Laury’s long reach, but she’s not using any real sense at all, just plundering in, getting picked off, and the punches she’s taking are beginning to take their toll, beginning to slow her down. Now Sabrina eats a lovely uppercut from the big French model, and she looks unsteady – is another big girl about to deliver a beating to the former champion? Laury clearly wants to, and she smacks a left hook across Sabrina’s jaw, and floors her. Sabrina gets up at 6, and she looks angry, but still can’t land anything on Laury, who just peppers the singer’s face with more punches through to the bell.

Round 4

Now it looks like Laury’s the girl with the experience, and she’s handing Sabrina a beating from long ranges, landing plenty of leather on the singer’s face, then she digs a good left into Sabrina’s body, and the Brit’s holding on in the ring now, clinching and gulping in air. Inside at last, and now Sabrina is able to land some shots, roughing the taller girl up and pushing her about, but every time the referee breaks them it’s Laury who lands the crisper, cleaner punches, her gloves now leaving their mark on Sabrina’s face.

Round 5

Again Laury stands back, lands some nice jabs, but she’s not following in with anything more, and this is giving Sabrina too much encouragement, the older girl now spending more time in close and clinching, landing some heavy punches to Laury’s body. The French girl is possibly tiring – she’s thrown a lot of leather, and although she’s been battered and floored, Sabrina seems as fresh as she was in the first round, now beginning to break the youngster down, ripping punches into her body, just banging away at her, pushing her around the ring, punishing her on the ropes, and in the corner and hurting her til the bell rings.

Round 6

There’s more body punishment for Laury to absorb, as Sabrina finds her ribs over and over, landing with her left and right gloves, hurting the French girl with a hard right to the belly, then for the first time switching she switches to the head, and she sends Laury backwards with a good combination to the jaw. Then Sabrina moves back ‘downstairs’ and she finds holes in Laury’s defences simply because there’s so much body to hit! The girl’s very height is becoming a handicap as Sabrina rips her around the ring, but she’s not going down, just absorbs her punishment and tries to defend herself, her body now as pink as her bikini.

Round 7

Now Sabrina looks tired, and she’s leaning into Laury, pushing her, shoving her, contenting herself with slapping punches into the French girl’s body up close, but Laury looks even less like fighting, just allowing the singer to bully her. Laury’s spending the round backed up to the ropes, and Sabrina’s just treating her as a heavy bag as she whups punches into her flanks, the beauty queen just grunting and gasping as she takes the blows one after another, and she’s wilting at the end of the round.

Round 8

Neither girl expended much energy in round 7, and that seems to have given Laury the time to get some strength back here, the girl boxing again, standing back, jabbing at Sabrina, who clearly thought she was about to finish the girl off, but now finds herself being moved around the ring by the youngster, who stuns her with a good right hook. Sabrina fights back in the latter stages of the round, and Laury’s defence is looking shaky again as the dinger moves her around the ring, thudding punches into her body as the bell closes another round.

Round 9

Sabrina starts on Laury’s body immediately this round, and she’s now making the French girl’s resistance deflate and crumble, her body taking a lot of punishment, and the only steps the tall beauty queen makes are backwards, with the singer pounding on her ribs, and those gloves are coming down, slowly but surely, her face a mask of pain now. Sabrina, however, is enjoying herself, and she lands a good one-two to Laury’s chin – the model shudders – Sabrina hits her with the right hoo – Laury’s down. The French girl is on the floor, and gets up at 7, but Sabrina is now right on her, and hurts her again with her right hook before the bell.

Round 10

Laury does not look good as she comes out for this final round, still quivering after that big right hand knockdown, and Sabrina’s bullying her now, pushing the youngster into the ropes, and she’s giving her some stick in there. Laury’s knees are wobbling, her eyes distant, and Sabrina lands that right hook again, right on Laury’s jaw, and the French girl falls to the canvas, face down, not moving as she’s counted out.

Result: Sabrina Washington knocked Laury Thilleman out in round 10.

Laury gave Sabrina a good fight, better than expected, but the question remains – has Sabrina still got what it takes?
