"The New Year's Eve Body Paint Fight Night"

Before: “Kelly’s for real,” Olivia concedes at prefight, “but without the paint, this is just a stay-busy fight for me. WITH the paint, it’s a chance to make a statement.”

“We’ve had a chance to see the real Olivia Wilde this year,” Kelly confident after picking up her first win in November. “The Olivia who got knocked out by van Camp, the Wilde who couldn’t handle Claire Danes on her home turf? This kind of fight has a way of bringing out a fighters true colors, and she‘s about to have the all the hype stripped away!”

It’s been a night for backless black outfits with panels missing from the front. Not that anyone’s complaining. Wilde’s covers her legs to just below the knee, comes up to the small of her back behind. Scooped out front ends in a bronze “buckle” at around the navel, could wind up being a convenient target, but it looks great for now. Black gloves, permed hair brushed back behind her shoulder and down her back. Kelly’s outfit is more minimalist. A metallic red bikini with brown, red and turquoise patterned opera gloves sticking out of her mitts to just short of the elbows. Blond curls short and loose, white gloves.

R1,2: Both rounds dominated by the fighters’ legs, jabs licking out both ways as fighters move around the center of the ring. Competitive rounds don’t see any sustained advantage to either woman, but Wilde does seem to be dictating the pace. In an otherwise inconclusive opening, that probably gives her both rounds.

R3: Olivia begins to bring her right into play, lighting Kelly up with a right cross early in the round. Carlson fades to ropes, but Wilde isn’t interested in pursuit. Olivia stays in the center of the ring, Kelly moves back out to meet her. Now it’s Carlson moving things around, supplementing her jab with a sidearm right. Spicy exchanges mark the rest of the round, as combination fighters begin to indulge their natures.

R4: Olivia tries to come inside again, but Kelly’s got her timing this round. Fighters rotating midring, first extended two-way attrition of the fight as Wilde can’t break away this time. Halfway through, Carlson puts together a five-punch combination that starts at Olivia’s navel and travels up her torso, ending in an uppercut that swivels Wilde’s head AND SENDS HER SPRAWLING! Olivia climbs up the ropes, turns around and meets a storming blonde who piles her onto the ropes and keeps her there for the rest of the round.

R5: Olivia up on her toes, fading back before a surging Kelly. Carlson looking to close, batting gloves together in pursuit. Wilde keeps out of range for the first minute, Kelly walking her down. Carlson moves inside, opens up AND BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Buggywhip right hand for Olivia puts Kelly on her back. Carlson up at six, now Wilde bats her gloves together as she comes out neutral corner, eager to end this fight. BUT KELLY WON’T PUNK! Kelly set in the pocket, giving as good as she gets in blistering exchanges, both fighters punching until separated after the bell.

R6: Flat-footed, strapping exchanges as Olivia continues to try to close this out. Kelly not ready to go, lighting Wilde up as strong combinations climb up her torso to set up the shot to the jaw. Carlson landing cleaner as fighters rotate midring, staggering Olivia repeatedly during the final minute as Kelly rights the ship.

R7: Olivia’s had enough trading, sets up on the outside. Wilde feinting and jabbing for points, no real harm being done. She’s keeping the right hand coiled up in reserve, keeping Kelly honest as she posts the shutout.

R8: Kelly backs Olivia up with spicy shots to the body. Wilde still not interested in trading, gets on her bicycle. Kelly works best at close range, looking to cut off the ring, headhunting when OLIVIA STOPS HER COLD! Wilde slips to her left, then TAGS Carlson with that buggy whip right! Kelly out on her feet, Olivia measures her for the uppercut that puts her on her back. Count a formality as Wilde mousetraps Carlson for the KO8

After: Close back and forth fight sees both fighters in the ascendancy. Olivia takes a look over her blonde victim, before spinning on her heels and heading indoors. She’s not looking back, as she trots up the path to the mansion, letting her back do the talking to a reviving Kelly.
