Moore in navy bikini (low-rise boy vut bottoms), white gloves, scruffy beach-bun hair
UD10 (Single Point) Prepon
Laura came into this fight on a bit of a downswing, having suffered two tough setbacks at the fists of older, more experienced vixens, looking into regroup, Prepon selected a very willing, similarly equipped right-handed slugger in young Moore and two big-bodied ingénues put on a delightful show, rocking each other nearly to sleep on several occasions before the judges stepped in with a verdict. Though it was Prepon getting the nod by the slimmest of margins, it was clear that these two hadn’t seen the last of each other by the end.
Both Mandy and Laura tend to clinch and maul rather than punch on the inside, giving this fight it’s rough-hewn, often sloppy stop-and-go character. Both set their feet well and seek to end fights with booming right crosses from outside, resulting in several nail-biting set-piece gun-platform exchanges throughout the night that saw both women receive astonishing blows to respective chins. The fourth round in particular—won by Mandy on the last punch of the round—saw both strapping vixens slugging mindlessly by the end, swinging away out of respective feet—just trudging into one another open-mouthed and vacant-eyed. It was truly a round for the ages, and neither women completely recovered from the punishment sustained therein.
And yet, there were six more rounds of hamhanded mayhem to go. Both women soldiered on, falling in together, hurting each other occasionally, walking each other to ropes. When Mandy suffered a concussive drubbing for well over a minute in the 8th round—she wearily sank to one knee, and in that moment gave up the extra point which would stand as the winning difference between these two. Reeling by the final bell—these girls would limp into port beaten beyond recognition, after having given the welterweight division a much needed transfusion of young-blooded vigour in the process.
