CELEBRITY BOXING AFTER DARK

Results: simguy; Story: Vassago.
BEFORE: The self-proclaimed flyweight bash kicks off the action in 2013 with couple of petite girls very eager to score a breakthrough victory. Lea Michele of Glee fame lasted less than one round on her debut against Amanda Seyfried back in August as the Asylum haze proved too much for the Bronx brunette to handle while Ellen Page skipped the entire 2012 campaign after suffering a truly humiliating loss to Sarah Michelle Gellar seventeen months ago. Some rumours have indicated that Page spend most of last year in underground roller-derby leagues to follow up on her acting role from "Whip It" however no picture evidence can be found to back up that story which of course doesn't mean it's not true.
"No wonder Page went missing for so long. Anyone who loses to Gellar should retire straight away!", a visibly animated Michele adds fuel to the fire before the fight and it's clear that despite a horrendous debut against Seyfried she thinks she can only go up from that performance and will brush Ellen aside.
"The Gellar fight was no big deal, sure she didn't win again in the last five and a half years but I've moved on from that! I still have that punch in me that send Selena Gomez to the canvas but I just needed to clear my mind. Lea was bashed at the Asylum and I think she will suffer again tonight!", Ellen quickly points out her view and despite that Gellar loss, she has more experience under her belt and looks confident of success.
Lea Michele wearing a silver basque top with black stripes, silver knickers and black gloves. Dark brown hair in loose curls. Ellen Page wearing a green basque top, white knickers and red gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a fancy ponytail at the back of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1: Lea didn't show much at the Asylum because of the quick knockout but she storms out of her stool early and strikes over the top, trying to impress her Canadian rival. Ellen blocks her off early and goes for a swift response, throwing shots to the midsection and looking equally agressive. Page tags the ribcage and bounces off the rack but Lea dances on her toes, bangs a series to the face and Ellen must duck and weave herself but refuses to buckle even when the Bronx brunette palms couple of clean shots on the cheeks. Page leans on her though, looks for more success down low, goes around the elbows and peppers the ribs which force Lea to cover up for a moment but a big left hook catches the Canadian on the temple and stops her in the middle of the ring as Michele pings her on the cheeks and finally Ellen leaps to the side as the number of Lea's shots reaching the target started to get worrying. Michele seeks more damage but Page circles around her until the bell and gives her a long stare during the interval.
Round 2: Ellen wants to make up for that big punch that made her look silly and jumps after her rival throwing ferocious leather from the start. Michele unsure over her tactics, doesn't react quick enough and gets tagged on the ribcage again as Ellen barks in anger and whips her on the jugs, catches her on the cheeks and breaks through the mitts for good with more accurate jabbing. Lea tries to leap back but gets her feet tangled up and Ellen whacks her around the elbows again, flicks a vicious uppercut that slams off the guard and Michele counters, whips a series to the chest herself, leans on the Canadian and jabs low to the guts but Ellen slams across the mitts, cross-hooks her on the nose and both girls really rip into each other in the middle of the ring with Page snapping her rival's head late in the round and forcing the Bronx brunette to cover up but despite all her efforts, Ellen is unable to push her back to the ropes, her punching power not all that impressive.
Round 3: Lea took some clean shots in the previous round and looks to re-compose herself in the ring but Ellen has other ideas and leaps after her again, jabbing to the body, crashing off the ribs and Michele looks somewhat overwhelmed, dekes to the side and avoids some initial shots but once again loses her footing and allows Page to square up to her and slam more jabs across the face. Lea's response is weak, she misses some hooks to the head, drops the body assault and tastes one herself instead as Ellen leans on her and whips to the tummy, making the Bronx girl squeal in pain. Page dwells on that sound, ups the tempo and bashes the cumbersome foe to the ropes with more body shots as Michele covers up her face but leaves the ribs exposed and Ellen has her butt-in ropes and punishing until the bell.
Round 4: Michele looks very hittable indeed and perhaps that Seyfried swoop was no coincidence? Lea tries to bide some time along the ropes, refuses to engage but Ellen's got "Whip her" image written all over the face and beats the Bronx brunette for pace across the canvas, keeps pouring in with her efforts and Lea just doesn't seem to know how to respond. Page's eyes catch a telling spark, one big shot and Lea's down but single blows to the body don't do enough damage early. Lea batted around the ropes with more body shots, covers up high and prevents Ellen from piercing her guard. Page visibly eager to confirm her dominance, peppers her foe side to side, slices between the arms and bounces off the rack, but just lacks that one-punch destruction and settled into a grindfest as Lea runs out of breath in the final minute and gets shoved to the ropes where she takes more punishment to the midsection, aches and moans in pain as Ellen keeps crashing off her flesh, leans on her and dives with a mammoth gutwrencher just before the bell and sinks a hapless looking Michele on her knees but the Bronx girl somehow survives on her feet much to Page's dismay.
Lucy Hale tweets: "Lea is spooked! KO imminient #ToldYa"
Round 5: Ellen jumps after her rival again and targets the face this time but finds no breakthrough as Lea is finally able to clinch her and both girls waste some time in the middle of the ring. Lea shoves the Canadian away and goes after her with a flying hook as Page had her arms down and got pinged in the mouth before responding. Michele with a sudden rash of agression, throws a flurry of shots after Ellen's initial counter went nowhere and manages to snap her head back couple of times before Page reverts into the body assault. Both girls in close distance, middle of the ring, Page works to the tummy, splits the mitts briefly and catches Michele on the nose but Lea swings couple of big hooks herself, nails the Canadian on the temple, follows up with a right half-uppercut on the chest but that skims off the lacy outfit and Ellen whacks her on the nose with a right overhand. Lea buckles, jumps to the ropes but Ellen's feeling the heat as well, can't match or even beat the footwork anymore and settles into single striking over the top which allows the Bronx girl to catch some much-needed respite.
Round 6: Page breaths somewhat havily during the interval but is still keen to knock Lea out and goes after her again, usual low jabbing to start breaking the Bronx girl down but Michele foresees that tactics, covers low and makes Ellen bark in anger while crashing off the forearms. Swift counter on the chin and Page's head snaps back as Lea break the arms apart and pummels the chest. Ellen stumbles back, refuses to yield though and goes for the face herself, misses the left hook, eats more leather on the tummy instead and Lea leans on her, peppers the midsection, flicks an uppercut between the arms but just grazes off the chin, left hook on the cheek from Page, another quick leap forward and these girls really intend to entertain the crowd with a flurry of jabs catching the Bronx brunette on the body but Lea strikes over the top, nails Ellen on the mouth and staggers her in the middle of the ring before cleaning out her ribcage and the Canadian bends forward looking uneasy but the bell saves her from more punishment as Lea gives her a death stare and screams out in anger herself. Ellen unsure what to make of that, Lea just won't quit here!
Ashley Benson tweets: "Lea is back! Better hurry up Miss Page!"
Round 7: For once Page takes it easy from the bell... but Lea has other ideas and squares up to the Canadian seemingly catching a second breath for good. Left/right combo splits Ellen's mitts and a left hook catches her on the mouth and staggers in the middle of the ring again. Page covers up, gets laced around the elbows instead... Michele ups the tempo Bronx hood style, peppers the midsection, makes the Canadian brunette moan in pain before sending a vicious gutwrencher on the navel which bends Ellen forward. Right hook on the jaw spins her back to the ropes and it's suddenly getting ugly for Page with Lea hammering her to the body, punishing her ribcage with vicious strikes and Ellen just caves in, butt in-ropes, protects her head but allows Michele to nail her on the tummy, left hook, right hook, another left... "Squeal, squeal, bytch!!!", Lea's rubbing it to Ellen's face.. make that guts.. another right hook leaves the Canadian without a breath and a simple put-away from the other side SENDS PAGE CRASHING DOWN ON HER KNEES!!! Lea gloats in joy over the fallen rival as Ellen blinks in disbelief but beats the count at six and claims to be alright. She's not moving all that well though and the eyes don't sport that spark anymore either. More from Lea!!! She peppers the aching foe to the body, flicks some shots on the head and Page just stands there butt in-ropes and takes more punishment until the bell with the Bronx girl working her over but unable to send to the canvas again before the clock expires.
Lucy Hale tweets: "Stupid Page! I can soooo punch you right now myself!"
Round 8: Ellen's hurt after that knockdown and tries to bide some time along the ropes but Lea just doesn't allow her to do that. She has the spped and agility advantage now, beats the Canadian easily across the canvas and lands more leather on the body, sends single shots to the head with Page'e eyes getting bigger and bigger as more punches reach the target. She tries to restore some authority with a spirited response but the speed is gone and so is the precision. Michele ducks under some high efforts, counters from the side and bashes Ellen to the body; makes her moan again and picks her jugs apart with a big combo in the final minute as Page looks to be running on empty and sinks on the ropes, allows Lea to close her down and clean out her ribcage. After the bell Ellen's arms drop to the side and she's taking her time before walking back to her corner.
Round 9: Lea offers some variety with Ellen unable to do anything about her; head-snapping combo forces the Canadian on the backfoot early and Michele abandons the body assault, goes for the face instead and is keen to shatter Page's mitts for good. Ellen still much slower on her feet, fails to break free from striking zone and gets her gloves shoved into her mouth as Lea ups the work rate again, peppers the mitts and harrasses the aching rival across the ring with Page looking totally spend. Lea walks her down to the ropes with Ellen still covered up and showing little resistance. Head-snapping assault makes Page wince in pain as Lea buries more leather in her guts and bends her to the side. Right arm drops significantly and Michele slams a hook on the temple, another on the cheek and poor Ellen can't stop moaning with Lea shattering her mitts from the other side. She breaks them apart and lands a clean combo on the mouth; gives the Canadian a fat lip and cuts her up for good in the final minute with more single jabs to the face. Page sinks on her knees with her eyes closed, almost punched out on her feet as Lea bashes her against the ribcage, missing the bell and forcing the ref to drag her away from the hapless Ellen.
Round 10: Ellen is done, gloomy eyes and a split lip indicate she's had enough but perhaps the early rounds will give her the edge despite the knockdown? Lea wants to make sure that won't happen and chases the late KO. Quick trade-off in the middle of the ring ensues with Page landing some jabs on the tummy but they have no strenght behind them anymore and Lea spikes her on the chest herself, seeks more shots on the bruised face as Ellen covers up and tries to prevent the Bronx brunette from really busting her up. Lea picks her shots, bashes to the body, slices against the rack, grazes the temples with somewhat chaotic efforts but Page remains upright even if just taking abuse. Michele wants the gutwrencher, catches the forearms instead but pushes the aching Canadian to the ropes where she finally finds her mark, lashes out at Ellen's ribs, seemingly wants to break her foe in half but a moaning Page refuses to follow the orders. Michele with a missed shots to the liver area, allows Page to clinch her and they shove each other along the ropes to give the Canadian few precious seconds. Ref steps in, drags Lea away but Ellen's unable to step away from the precarious position; Michele snaps her head back with a straight jab, nails her on the ribs again, leans forward, almost pushes the aching Canadian through the ropes and keeps bashing her on the ribcage with Ellen sagging, eating leather with her eyes closed and just looking to survive. Lea's angry and accepts the fact she can't knock her foe down, settles for a clinch in the final seconds but raises her arms after the bell while Ellen slides on her backside and stares at the canvas barely fighting back the tears. Great chance goes begging; comes back 96-93 and UD10 Lea Michele!!!
AFTER: Winner's hand is raised by the ref and the Bronx girl punches herself across the chest. No more Seyfried nightmares, Lea has arrived in town! That's one of the biggest smiles ever seen on this side of the pond and she's understandably happy about her performance: "I owe Ellen an apology, it's very good that she hasn't retired and allowed me to punch her guts out! I had a brief moment early on where she landed couple of punches and during one of the intervals someone told me Pretty Little Punchers made a bet when I'll go down but did I ever make a comeback or what? Those Punchers sure look silly now! Betting against Glee's finest? I think I can give that Ashley Benson tramp a good beating too! This was a great evening and my career has only started right here. (...) Amanda Seyfried? Never heard of."
Meanwhile it's a different story in Page's corner. The proud Canadian is left hanging over the ropes and desperately fighting back the tears. "I'm not going back to roller derby... I'm not going back to roller derby..." She finally wipes some fluid off her cheeks and offers few words to the media: "I don't... I don't know what happened there. I had the girl at my mercy and then it all just faded away... you know... faded away... Lucy Hale wants to come and punch me out too? I hardly recall her, you know, when you've been at the Academy awards and stuff, you can't be bothered with some TV starlets. (...) Lea Michele IS a TV starlet? Well, that must be a mistake. TV wannabes don't punch that hard..."
Lucy Hale tweets: "Come and see. Hale KOs Page. Soon. #ToldYa"
Ashley Benson tweets: "Drain that Bronx Glee. #AnaheimRules"
Final result: Lea Michele def. Ellen Page UD10. |
