Lioness Club of America HQ Bradenton, FL
With several media pundits giving their opinion on the 2012 season in the recent days here's a brief resume of what happened in LCA since it's formation on April 1st. Just to remind everyone, the LCA roster consists of four proud members: Jessica Lowndes (flyweight), Eva Mendes (bantamweight), Odette Yustman (lightweight) and Cassidy Freeman (welterweight).
Since LCA's formation the stable has been present in 22 fights over the course of nine months. The overall record was established at 10-11-1. Winning record is therefore 45% however only one of our four fighters, Cassidy Freeman, scored a winning year-end ratio.
BY NUMBERS:
Cassidy Freeman (3-0-1) BWO # 3 ( + 2), Tractorpull # 2 (Welter of the Year), FCBA Magazine # 2 Odette Yustman (2-3) BWO #36 ( + 3) Jessica Lowndes (2-3-1) BWO #40 ( + 8) Eva Mendes (2-5) BWO #53 ( - 7)
Numbers in brackets indicate a) 2012 record of each figher b) a change of positions compared to last BWO ranking before the formation of Lioness Club of America. Please note that Yustman and Freeman had one fight each in 2012 before signing for LCA. These two bouts are not included in their records.
INDIVIDUAL RESUME:
Cassidy Freeman: Undefeated in 2012 has finished her development proccess without a blemish even though a draw with Katherine Heigl stopped her winning sequence. However with Heigl refusing to go extra rounds we claim the moral victory over one of the fearsome welters around.
Highlights of the Year: 1) Total destruction of Kelly Brook who came off a grindfest against Amanda Righetti no less. 2) Knockout victory against Nadia Bjorlin, member of welterweight's best stable in the past few years.
Targets for 2013: There are two. Both of their names start with the letter 'R'.
Jessica Lowndes: Embraced the opportunity to annoy various mambers of the TV world and while she remains a second-tier compared to some of the veterans, she finds herself very happy challenging and fighting several high-profile names. Three fights against the members of Lookout! Boxing failed to produce a single victory but Jessica's mindset is all about overcoming the losses and going out for another bite at the cherry. While she may never fight the likes of Portman or Kreuk, she's willing to make her name among the CW agends and overhyped movie stars who never should have raised their heads above certain level.
Highlight of the Year: Epic punchout of Ashley Benson, one of Vanessa Hudgens' closest friends and protegees. That's both eating and having a cookie at the same time!
Targets for 2013: 1) To win a fight against a Lookout! fighter, most likely Vanessa Hudgens. 2) Depose Kim Kardashian as Kendra Wilkinson's most desired rival and settle the score with Wilkinson after a Body Paint clash ended in much maligned by some draw.
Odette Yustman: Needed some time to shake off the rust after losing her previous management. Lost three straight on points (including one before signing for LCA). Targeted Laura Vandervoort as the first of chief rivals which required a brief spell at bantam. Beat Amber Heard and Summer Glau but faltered against a ressurected Vandervoort to close out the year. Refused to accept the result, suffered more misery in AHW against who else but Vandervoort and Glau. Returns to lightweight full-time in 2013 after fulfilling her bantam contract with a fight against Emmanuelle Vaugier.
Highlights of the Year: 1) Total destruction of Summer Glau.
Targets for 2013: Has the biggest group of targeted rivals perhaps indicating lightweight is indeed the best division in FCBA. The names that spring to top of our mind are seemingly neverending; Strahovski, Winstead, Menounos, Vaugier, Valance, Swanepoel and Kurylenko to name just a few. Whenever Laura V. to returns to lightweight we'll add her as well.
Eva Mendes: Former champ returned after two years of absence and participated in most fights since 2006. At 38 most of pundits think of sending her into retirement but there's still a fire burning inside that Latin heart. With no prospects at the sharp end of the field, Eva will contiue to challenge any women born in the 1970s as well as some rookies where we've had one specific offer already. Eva is there to look good in the ring and sell tickets. Any wins come as a bonus.
Highlight of the Year: Turning Emanuelle Vaugier's tummy into jelly beans!
Targets for 2013: To lure Jenny McCarthy out of her retirement and make up for the 2007 fight which according to us never really happened in first place!
INDIVIDUAL LCA HONORS:
Fighter of the Year: Cassidy Freeman.
Fight of the Year: Eva Mendes vs Anna Silk (5th September 2012) and Odette Yustman vs Laura Vandervoort (7th December 2012).
Knockout of the Year: TIE - Cassidy Freeman vs Nadia Bjorlin (Uppercut KO 5th May 2012) and Eva Mendes vs Emanuelle Vaugier (Body & Ribcage KO 7th December 2012).
Beatdown of the Year: TIE - Cassidy Freeman vs Kelly Brook (23th July 2012) and Odette Yustman vs Summer Glau (8th October 2012).
Upset of the Year: Cassidy Freeman def. Nadia Bjorlin (5th May 2012).
Disappointement of the Year: Jessica Lowndes 0-3 against Lookout! Boxing. |
