Five Fighters to look out for in 2013 (once again, my personal and very biased list):

Honorary mention: Laura Vandervoort (Foxfire Boxing)
Laura's always in the spotlight even if she's just hanging around looking good. Her unbeaten run in the bantamweight makes me think she's just weeks away from getting a shot at the title unless she falls victim to Mila Kunis factor (see blow). As much as I wish for Laura to return to light, her winning run leaves me thinking she'll stay at bantam until she wins the title and dominates the division, then vacants the stripes and makes a much-heralded comeback to light. That's some Hollywood-like story but one cannot expect nothing less from FCBA's most popular fighter.

5. Kristen Stewart (Front Street Boxing)
I've been very critical of her performance against Kylie Minogue but she's indeed only two wins away from equalling Lucy Liu's all-time record. Will Liu come out of retirement to keep her record alive or will Stewart be the new benchmark very soon herself? Whichever you look at it, Stewart's development proccess borders either on future stardom or being the most overrated girl in FCBA.

4. Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Punchers)
First of the PLP girls to score a win under the new banner. Destined to make some headway and watching her development in 2013 will be as exciting as seeing some of the more established names. A much needed injection of fresh blood with PLP seemingly poised to remain in the spotlight for a very long time.

3. Mila Kunis (Hawkeye International Sports Consortium)
The prime victim of Pax Portmanica, dissed by Tisdale and tricked into fighting Panattiere by Cater. Had she beaten Hayden P., a title bout vs Carter would have been a no-brainer. Instead the run of nine wins was stopped and Kunis must basically work from the scratch or hope for Carter to lose the crown and put herself back in contention. Kunis was my pick for a long-term reign but she never even got the chance. Foxfire shutting her off with Hayden P. was Don King-like management though. Mila must be boiling inside and I wonder who will suffer at her hands in 2013 since I don't believe in a sudden dip of form.

2. Maria Menounos (Empire Boxing)
The lightweight dark horse of 2012 must be regarded as one of the elite girls now after single handedly sending Laura Vandervoort to bantamweight division. Seeing her in a title bout in 2013 is a very safe bet even though some usual suspects like Strahovski and Winstead might do everything they can to stop derail the Menounos steamroller.

1. Nina Dobrev (Lookout! Boxing)
It's not like I disagree with Nina's take on who's the prettiest girl in FCBA. She was the focus point of 2012 Trade of the Year and fitted very well within Lookout! Boxing even though she stumbled on couple of occassions late in the year before KO1 win over Demi Lovato to bring her back on track. A dark horse for meteoric rise into the title contenders is very much on the cards allthough I'm not sure whether she will stay at flyweight or bantam on the long haul. No matter which division she choses it will be a success however Laura V.'s presence at bantam might indicate Nina's eventual path in 2013.
