Before: Over-u8nder at 3 rounds and dropping--both women love to swing righty, both like room to punch--if they both stick to that strategy, someone’s going out. Nolin entering under a firestorm of Tractorpull sponsored criticism--she brushes it aside with typical GLN aplomb. “So I lost a couple of meaningless exhibitions,” G says with a dismissive wave, “Win, lose or draw, I’m still Gena Lee Nolin and that name means money for everybody. Who’d I lose to? That’s right--nobody can remember that chick’s name. Who you gonna buy a ticket to see? Tyra Banks vs. Gena Lee Nolin, or Tyra Banks vs. some chick you don’t know? That’s right--stop your squawkin’--this is THE fight at middle and you Tractorpull jerks know it” Confident match up for Banks--Nolin a bigger woman, a notorious brawler, but Tyra doesn’t care. “Gena’s right--her name matters AND she’s overrated--that’s a perfect combination for m e. I’ll lay that fat piece of pork out and move in, ‘cause that’s what I do. This is MY house and Gena’s not welcome.” GLN in black twist tie halter, yellow buttons, low ponytail--Tyra in pink bra style bikini, low ponytail, Girls refuse to touch gloves during instructions--reef lacks the stones to make them.

During R1: Surprisingly tentative--both women loading up on the back foot and right hand, pawing with the left, but neither wants to make the mistake that could end this thing. Cautious, flinching stuff as girls prowl clockwise. Nolin a little more productive, diving in off her right hand and wrapping up snug around Tyra’s ribcage, driving camp into the ropes for breaks. Nobody hurt in a respectful first--Nolin warned for head butting in the clinch, and throwing her left elbow into Tyra’s ribs at the ropes.

R2: Similar stuff--very tense, but nothing really happening as both girls are skittish about committing. Tyra snapping her jab off the hip, at least putting some venom on the punch. Nolin still sliding flat footed to her left, awing her own jab, cocking the right, but never really releasing it. More duck-and-tackle tactics from Nolin--she’s getting Tyra’s back to the ropes, but not really working in there, aside from the obligatory oops, sorry about the head as she mauls in close.

R3: Nolin dipping, reaching the left into Tyra’s golden gut, then sliding out and to the right--Banks leaning into some counter right hands late, but at least she’s pitching ‘em. Gena making tepid contact with Tyra’s tummy, Banks missing--crowd getting a little anxious as big banger don’t want to open up, More greasy clinching, Nolin always diligent about walking Banks to the ropes and making her feel weight before releasing her.. Final minute--another Nolin clinch ends up at the ropes--ref separating the beauties and Gena POUNDS a cheap right hand overtop on the break! Tyra clocked on her left cheek--staring back--she wanders right, then her legs give way, torso lolling--she’s shook! Banks slouching against the ropes for balance--Gena lunging in again with murderous sweeping right--crashing connect upside the head leaves Tyra drooping forward, out on her feet! Gena with a pushy left in the chest props Tyra lifeless against the ropes--Banks’ eyelashes fluttering, mouth open and ANOTHER clanging right claps home! Gena stacking Tyra up with tuff shoving in the chest, holding her with one hand, POUNDING her face the free mitt--crowd screaming--ref numb with indecision until FINALLY--Banks slides to the mat in stupor, Gena hands on ropes, putting her foot in the small of Tyra’s back and bellowing--NOW the ref acts to tug the big blonde away, hands around Gena’s waist--chaotic disputed KO3 for the winner and NEW middleweight champ: say it with me now--GENA! LEE! NOLIN!

After: Nolin dripping with belts, pounding her chest, slapping bicep while head banging heavu-metal style--oh the humanity, Banks brought around with salts--still woozy, uncomprehending--she’s not completely there when Gena gathers her up and takes proud model for a shabby walk of shame. Nolin with a cheap hit in a break, but it only takes one--give the champ credit for breaking a tight fight wide open and capitalizing on the moment. Nolin won’t let it go--stacking poor Tyra in a corner, mounting the ropes and posing over the beaten supermodel--Banks’ face wet and vacant against Gena’s hip or tummy, Nolin’s left fist wrapped tight in Tyra’s ponytail.
