Before: Intriguing match up--brunette royalty mixing it up--hard feeling as cat bell looks to answer Allen’s glorious KO victory last time they hooked up. Allen still harping on arguably the biggest win of her career: “You know, I wanted cat bell immediately after I knocked her out--I always wanted to go back to back on Cat, but she was SO gunshy, Now, I’ve finally got her back in my sights and I can’t wait to finish what I started.” Bell disputing Allen’s recollection of events in curt terms: “She’s lying. Krista took that knock out over me and ran like a thief in the night--we couldn’t locate her or her representatives afterwards because I dearly wanted to erase that outcome. It is personal, moreso than usual for me--I wanted this bout more than any other we had on the table, so I’;m glad we got the deal done. Hard part’s over--getting Krista to sign. Mow I just have to make her regret it.” (Allen in white “Dr. No” bikini worn by Ursula Andress (bought at auction for an undisclosed sum), Bell in white FHM cover bikini.
During R1: Bell’s seen tape, worked on evading this punch, but Krista with that quick jab, step and leopard-pounce let uppercut split’s the mitts and has cat hurt in opening m moments. Bell keeping it together, easing back to coax Krista forward, countering Allen with catspaw check-hooks. Looks like Bell’s rallied through the second minute, but down the stretch: Krista circling, shears in off an angle and lands that fearsome lead left uppercut to PUT BELL ON HER BACK! Cat caught, rocked and dropped--picking her head up woozy as the bell sounds--Bell guided to her corner for frantic repairs as Allen sends a message.
R2,3: The poise of Cat Bell, bell shakes off a slow start, starts chiseling away and evens up the fight by taking both of these rounds in workmanlike fashion, bell dukes up, feinting, then fading--making it tough for Kris to time her for the out-punch. Bell jabbing to the shoulders and chest, bringing her hands back smartly, stepping to the side--just Boxing 101 as she turns Kris, touches her, beats her to punches, Allen a little KO Krazy as she loads up, looking to pivot, step and launch--positioning never quite works out as Bell dictates terms through 3.
R4: Kris spitting jabs, turning on sudden right hands--bell blocking or rolling with blows, but having trouble getting off in the face of aggressive Allen punching. Kris answering Bell’s techniques with athleticism--leggy toe to either side, quick hands doubling up punches--she’s able to cuff Cat’s ear and swipe her ribs with two-beat hooks; feint then drop sneaky lead hesitation rights. Bell turning, frustrated as Krista circles Cheshire-llike out of range.
R5,6: Classic Cat Bell. Jabs, feints, lateral movement all keeping Kris off balance. Clinches frustrating Kris--Cat bodying up walking her foe to ropes and releasing at the break,. Punching hard right hands head or body, then falling in to smother receipts--Allen bogging down as Cat slows the action, roughens things up. Kris constantly struggling to disengage, but Cat’s always riding an arm around the neck or wrapping up behind the elbow--it’s stifling, suffocating stuff. Allen’s offense reduced to one-shot off-the-mark right hands or a still-stinging jab, but Bell’s the boss in this kind of sweatshop boxing.
R7: Allen on her toes--this is the Krista Allen everyone fears will show up. So smooth to her left, piercing Cat’s defense with sudden jabs, reversing directions and getting sneaky right hands around Bell’s left wrist. Left/rights up top to fix bell, then that raking slash-hook along the ribs--tasty, strapping blows that momentarily freeze Cat up, putting a steamy look of satisfaction on Allen’s face. Breezy shutout Allen as she circle and potshots--Cat turning, reacting late, getting slow-roasted for points.
R8: Nobody negates speed like Cat--she bogs Allen down, gets a body on her piles her into the ropes and works Krista over bell to bell this round. Cat murdering Kris to the midsection, really punishing her--big booming rights, push-and-hook lefts loud off the ribs--Allen open mouthed, clinching with her backside sagging in the ropes. Cat using her elbows to nudge for room, stroking Krista’s ribcage, reaping jug when Allen droops too far forward, then stacking the young beauty up hard--it’s vintage Cat Bell. At the bell, a little ‘tude from Cat: she chests up, forces eye contact--Krista batting leashes, demures, letting herself be intimidated as Bell imposes her will.
R9: Krista on the run, Cat walks her down and issues a harrowing beat down this round. Bell cutting off the ring, jabbing Kris to ropes then going to work--right hand palming Kris’ shoulder as she bends forward, left swinging beefy to the body with shivering hooks as Allen shudders on impact. Crowd groaning, reacting as Bell beats that body like a drum, or jams away to the head in close quarters. Krista grim--legs are shot--she’s fighting back in spots with unguessed heart as she KNOWS Cat’s trying to close her out. Allen brave, but soundly, soundly thrashed this round--it’s Cat Bell at her methodical, painstaking, cold-blooded best. Allen stiff and cringing at the bell, blinking tears out of her eyes, sniveling to her corner--Bell’s broken the younger woman’s spirit--time to reel her in.
R10: Surprise, surprise--Krista’s got a little backbone. Cat marching in to bring decisive battle--Allen fixing her with the jab, strafing her a hard cross, pulling a sharp hook across the body, then spinning round Cat’s right shoulder--fierce determination in Krista’s eyes as she refuses to give in. Bell marching forward, trying to find Allen with the jab: Krista pounds a right/left/right off Cat’s face. Sidestepping smartly to the side. Time and again--Bell trying to force the issue--Allen collecting brisk touches then sidestepping out of danger--mobile beauty using the ring brilliantly posts a shining shutout in what is generally considered to be a traditional Cat Bell round. Cat puffy, scuffed upon shaking her head at the bell--this thing goes to cards and it is close. Comes back a Tractorpull Special--no, wait--one point duke, UD10 Cat Bell!
After: Bell relieved at the announcement--very close tussle but she overcomes a knockdown and spirited Allen resistance to post a typical Cat Bell duke. “Fast, classy. What else can I say?” Bell says oif her vanquished foe, “Krista’s a dangerous vixen. All you can do against her is be consistent--you know she’ll be up and down and what you have to do is just stay with her when she’s hot, grind her when she’s not. She impressed me--she’s quit in a lot of fights when a girl gets to her the way I was punishing her in the 9th, but she came back FIGHTING. Seriously, if this girl ever gets her act together, stays focused and executes consistently --we’re all in trouble,” Allen bitter, blubbery in post fight, and lacking in Cat’s chivalry. “They robbed me,” Krista whines. “Robbed me. I had her on her back and they still gave it to her. A lot of the rounds they gave her--what did she do? Nothing--she was just backing down from me all night. This what you get when you go up against TE--you can’t get a fair decision.” Awkward scene later on the ring--Cat trying to congratulate Kris on a hard fought contest--Allen refusing to talk at first, turning away, then coming back with a shrill, finger-pointing tirade. Brunette beauties separated before Allen can light Cat’s fuse--but it was close.
