BBU Bantamweight Card: Cannes, France

(Lookout Atlantic Boxing vs Page Threes)

This is probably the most unpredictable fight of the entire card as Alice Eve and Emma Glover square off to settle a long-standing rivalry between Glover and Eve's stable, the Lookout! Atlantic Boxing. The PageThrees buxom glamour model looked like the next best thing in bantam until she lost couple of fights against Rosie Jones and subsequently allowed Sacha Parkinson to absolutely destroy her in a Gregory VS Pub brawl. Some BBU pundits claimed they never saw a girl take such a battering and Emma was forced to join forces with Jones acknowledging her superiority and becoming the first member of so-called Team Rosie.

However Emma wants to stand on her own feet in 2013 again; she pummelled Katherine Jenkins in December to restore some pride but she knows she simply has to claim a Lookout! Atlantic scalp to finally remove the leash she's been put on by Rosie Jones. Whether the LAB brunette model is happy about those plans or has she thrown Emma into a lions' den remains to be seen as most BBU pundits have trouble with figuring that out!

Pre-fight is all about Glover as Alice Eve keeps it strictly business but there's no surprise Rosie Jones makes her appearance in Cannes, placing herself in the first row... right beside Alice's corner and if she's going to support someone here, it must be the Lookout! blonde. But Emma makes some gestures towards Rosie from the ring and the media people are spinning their heads back and forth still unsure what's really going on between Emma and Lookout! Atlantic!

Round 1:
Emma won all her fights via KO and she lashes out at the blonde straight from the bell as Alice refuses to close in and throws single punches from mid-range. Glover very agile on her feet, laces the blonde on the ribs but fails to connect elsewhere and after getting whacked in the face by a seemingly stray hook pauses in the middle of the ring and hangs back herself. Alice jabs to the jugs, an obvious target for any blonde girl against a raven-haired vixen like Glover but she also lacks execution and in fact both girls waste time in fruitless efforts as they can't land anything noteworthy in the opening round with a high-standard footwork coming to the fore.

Round 2:
More aggression from Emma who leaps extra quick to her rival and nails her on the temple before Alice crashes onto her chest and sways the rack as Glover throws an overhand right on the eye and breaks through, forces Eve to step back but not before landing couple of straight jabs on her face and you can see Alice got really annoyed by those shots as she circles back at first but leaps up to Glover shortly afterwards, pummels through the arms and wants to inflict more damage on the jugs but gets shut off and nailed on the mouth in return with Emma throwing heavy leather over the blonde's guard and finding success almost too easily according to some viewers. Alice jumps back to the ropes and begins another circle, now she's really upset over this fight but refuses to launch a counter as Emma looks very focused herself and allows the blonde to hang on until the bell, perhaps not the best tactics but no one can forget about her impressive KO record!

Round 3:
Alice with single jabbing to the guard, no way through and Emma spikes her around the elbows in response, peppers the ribcage and tries to flick an uppercut on the jaw but crashes off the leather herself and finally Alice nails her with a quick hook on the temple, follows up with low jabs to the ribs herself, pummels against the body but Emma clinches and shoves her back to the ropes. Eve comes back for more, misses a hooking effort on the face and eats a left hand on the mouth, ducks under a right follow up, headbutts Emma on the jaw as she launches herself forward and Glover's head snaps back as she screams out in pain and the ref is quick to drag the blonde away but she gets one shot in and nails Emma on the eye and that's earned the buxom model a nasty lump all of the sudden as Alice begins to lose her temper and the ref is not impressed at all. He gives the blonde a staunch lecture and Emma's calm demeanour is suddenly gone too! Quick look at Rosie Jones and she's got a devilish smile on her face, did she influence Alice Eve into some dirty tricks? Alice skips Emma's approach after the command, bides her time along the ropes as Glover is truly upset but can't beat her foe's footwork, remains wary enough to let go of the fruitless chase though and wait for the bell.

Round 4:
Glover jumps to Eve and whacks her in the hip. going slightly low with her aim as the blonde slices her across the mouth and snaps her head back with a quick follow up as Emma moans in pain and takes another on the mouth before raising her gloves up but Alice pummels her on the body, rocks those jugs again and signs off her charge with a jab on the eye which wobbles the brunette on her feet and suddenly it's all Alice as Rosie Jones jumps from her stool and starts cheering her stablemate on! Left/right combo pierces the mitts and black hair flies everywhere as Eve nails her on the jaw with Emma trying to remain upright... no good... another left on the cheek and GLOVER HITS THE DECK HARD as her legs shoot up in the air and Alice looks to stomp her in the tummy but gets dragged away by the ref and given another warning! Glover sits on the canvas and waits until the count reaches eight before getting up and she gives Rosie Jones a death stare but the Lookout! brunette shouts at her: "C'mon! Show me what you've got now!" Alice hears that and smiles back at Rosie but rushes after Emma straight after the command and looks to land more shots on the face but Emma drops her arms and teases her with some nifty footwork, that was a good knockout that send her down but it doesn't seem to affect her one bit and Eve crashes off the guard late in the round and gets a left hook on the eye just at the bell but Emma pummels her on the chest thereafter and ref is having his hands full as these two girls really look to take it to another level. Level of hate that is.

Round 5:
Gloves are off here... if not literally... as both women engage in a ferocious punchfest straight from the bell with Rosie Jones laughing hysterically in the front row and clapping her hands against her thighs! Emma spikes Alice over the top, gives her a nasty black eye with precise execution but the blonde works on her foe's lump too and both heads snaps back repeatedly as the tempers flare beyond limits and Emma shows more variety, gut-checks the blonde with a quick switch, makes Alice moan in pain but silences her with a cross-hook to the mouth, pummels her to the ropes but misses a jabbing put away and Eve jumps to the side, looks to hurt the brunette's rack again but misses too and the fatigue kicks in in the final minute with both girls breathing heavily and circling around each other as Rosie gets up from her chair again and keeps encouraging the fighters to show more venom. Alas both vixens need a respite and see out the round in mid-distance.

Round 6:
Alice flicks an early hook on the face but gets blocked and Emma counters with low jabs to the ribs, tries to uppercut the blonde's jugs but misses and Eve spikes her on the eye, gives her another lump and targets the head again but Glover leans on her and clinches. Some pushing and shoving follows before Glover whacks her opponent on the temple with a high hook and sends her back to the ropes, letting go of the clinch. Alice jumps after her, misses a left hook.. catches a right on the jugs and falls forward... wobbly... wobbly... left hook on the temple and DOWN GOES ALICE EVE ON HER KNEES... shaken but not stirred upon Emma's one punch success... Glamour model stretches her arm towards Rosie Jones and nods her head... Rosie gives her a thumbs up but Alice is back on her feet already and lashing out before the command.... ref jumps to the side and as Emma turns towards her rival... SHE GETS LACED ON THE NOSE WITH A MAMMOTH RIGHT.... TIIIIIIIMBEEEERRRRRR!!!! Glover down! Glover down! Blonde raises both her arms in the air and begins to pound her chest moments later as Glover is down spread eagle on the canvas... Ref doesn't bother with the count... but he's not calling it a day either.... furious talks with BBU executives ringside.... Alice parades around the ring as Emma shows some signs of life, rolls back on the tummy and pushes herself up... Ref has made his mind up though... walks towards Alice... and there's the bell.... Huge confusion in the Cannes as Emma scrambles back on her feet and heads towards her stool. Blonde finally realizes something's not right... notices Emma taking a sit down and is all over the referee's ear in a flush... Fight hasn't been stopped and Alice has one point deducted for throwing a punch before the command!!! Game on in Cannes!!! Rosie Jones is back with that devil's smile on her face...

Round 7:
Interval between rounds lasted significantly longer than usual but Alice is completely beside herself. Not even Charlotte Church made her that mad! She leaps towards Emma and gives her more leather on the face but gets blocked; Glover with low jabs on the tummy stages a comeback and leans on the blonde shutting her off for good. Alice struggles to stretch her elbows, gets shoved to the ropes as the raven-haired model shows exceptional strenght and gives the blonde more jabs on the ribcage. Eve tries to headbutt her again in response... but misses and eats a right uppercut on the chin! And another... Blonde hair flying nicely in the air right above Rosie Jones who has a grand stand view of Emma testing the strenght of Alice's jaw!!! Lacing shot from Eve on the kidneys... Emma slams her on the chin again, blocking her arm and having a clear target on hand... Blonde moans in pain and loses her aggression, tries to pull the brunette down in the clinch but Emma's enhanced rack allows her to keep Alice pinned in the corner and take more punishment! Right hook on the eye gives the blonde more pain and she now just holds onto her opponent and awaits the bell which finally comes to her rescue but not before Emma gives her a second black eye in the proccess and my oh my, Alice looks in some distress now, having been punched clean on the face far too many times to anyone's liking. Glover back from the dead?

Round 8:
Alice doesn't look that pretty anymore as her cutmen had a busy time during the interval but the lumps and black patches under the eyes just don't want to go away. Glover was down for the count just few minutes ago but now she just harrasses the blonde all across the canvas as Eve looks for more respite and refuses to close the distance for the first time in decades. Emma works the single hand but is unable to close nor trap her foe down and reverts into more menacing alas fruitless jabs as Alice's footwork serves as her last resort and calms the action down with Emma threatening to steal this one at the death. Nobody has any idea what the cards look like at this stage but round eight is definitely even with Eve escaping from jaws of defeat following that heavy pounding in the seventh. She may be bothered with the state of her face but the legs do the work and Emma looks to be having some breathing difficulties herself and the fatigue has kicked in big time with both girls siginificantly damaged after a gruesome contest. Crowd gives them a standing ovation despite a dull round anyway and hopes for a grand stand finish with Alice piercing her rival with vicious look in her eye and Emma doesn't hold back too, breaths heavily with her bikini top needing some adjustments but responds the blonde with an equally deadly stare.

Round 9:
Glover is quicker from her stool and jabs at the blonde's body, pierces her mitts and bounces off the jugs as Alice sends wayward hooks and must retreat under the onslaught but Emma misses a wild swing herself and loses balance, stumbles forward and Eve nails her with a right hand on the chin! That gets Rosie Jones animated again as her blonde stablemate pours in with more hooks on the face with Emma fighting to stay upright and not raising her gloves in time. Right hook catches her on the lips and snaps the head back but Alice fails to send her down and makes a lurid jump crashing with her and results in Glover stumbling back to the ropes and wrapping her arms around them to stay on her feet. Alice squares up to her but is too slow and Emma dekes to the side, counters on the ribcage and the jugs with couple of jugs around the elbows, breaks through the mitts and allthough Alice tries to trap her along the ropes gets laced over the top with a determined fightback from the brunette and allows her to escape to middle of the ring. Emma begins to circle around as Alice battles fatigue and her wounds and the rounds concludes with both women separated in opposite sides of the ring. Still anyone's for the taking as Rosie Jones looks on from one corner to another during the last interval.

Round 10:
Emma's perfect KO record is under threat but she doesn't mind that jumping back and forth around the blonde with Alice more determined to score a late haymaker but she skims off the guard and reverts into low jabbing which bring her no joy either. Glover keeps her honest with a single hand response and looks to have saved more energy as Eve covers up and just fends off her rival's efforts before missing more hooks in response. Emma reaches out for her and lands more jabs to the tummy, closes the distance but only catches the forearms and allows Alice to target her breasts but the blonde lacks strenght in the final round, bounces off one cup and fails to throw another shot as Glover steps aside and lands one hook on the temple on her own. Both women struggle physically in the last minute and settle for half-hearted punches with Rosie Jones seemingly annoyed over the lack of the last-ditch knockout. Final ten seconds; Glover whacks the blonde on the eye again with Alice going low and jabbing on the ribs; they tangle with each other again in the middle of the ring but ref drags the raven-haired model away and there's the bell moments later with both girls raising their arms in the air and the crowd has truly witnessed a too-close-to-call contest in Cannes tonight! Rosie Jones looks equally puzzled over the outcome of this fight as most people in the audience and after a brief delay we go to the scorecards.

After ten rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards... Judges score the bout 98-97 for Emma Glover... (a loud cheer in PageThrees corner)... 97-96 for Alice Eve.... (a loud cheer in Lookout! Atlantic Boxing corner)... and 96-96... (a loud cheer in BOTH corners before everyone can fully understand what the final verdict is...) The fight has been declared a DRAW!!!

Post-fight:
Both Alice and Emma looks as puzzled as most of the audience but all three judges saw that differently and we have no winner after ten rounds. Because of BBU TV time slots any overtime rounds are forbidden and we move on with the card with both women arguing witch their respective entourage and indeed the judges have seemingly had the last punch here and send both brave fighters for the count. "All that for nothing!", Emma storms out of the ring and ignores Rosie Jones who just can't stop smiling.

But Emma's anger is nothing compared to Alice Eve. She would have won this fight but for the point deduction in the fifth round! Moreover one of the judges didn't see Emma losing a single round apart from the fourth when she was knocked down. "And people say blondes have it their way!", Alice stomps her foot in front of Rosie Jones who shakes her head in disgust: "I don't know how it's like to be a blonde, remember?"

Alice gives her a second look and realizes her gaffe but quickly drops the funny bits: "Tell me, Rosie. Who did you EXACTLY cheer for tonight? I executed our plan to perfection, almost too perfect even and that's why I didn't win!"

"Well, Alice. That's why there is a Team Rosie and no Team Alice! The plan worked well but I'll answer your question after the rematch!"

"What rematch?"

"Your rematch with Emma Glover, silly! You know we're gonna make bucketloads of cash once that happens!"

"We? or just you?"

"It's all for the team, Alice! All for the team!"

Final result: Alice Eve vs Emma Glover - Draw.
