BEFORE: "I'm excited to be debuting against Carla," Cohan grins all bright-eyed in prefight. "She's a solid-punching veteran - a good test-bed, but I'm younger and fitter and should prove the better woman in the end!"

Gugino painfully aware of her record, but cautioning people about reducing her to age or W/L metrics. "I haven't had the best advice or opportunities in my career," Gugino admits at podium, "and that's led to losses, but my legs are fresh, my body's strong, and I've always felt that if properly matched, I could be very dangerous. Lauren's going to feel that: she's exactly the kind of woman I SHOULD have been fighting all along! Oh, and a word to the wise: I'm nobody's 'test-bed', honey."

Cohan in sturdy evergreen bikini with twist-tie halter top and tuggable trunks with lots of hip and back; smallish black gloves; short brown hair Walking Dead style. Gugino in royal blue bikini in the same style; smallish black gloves; curly black, shoulder-length hair.

During R1: Girls approach in crouches/straighten up into hooks-on-chins...DOWN GOES GUGINO! First punch of Cohan's career puts a veteran on her ass - Carla all shocked and grouchy as Cohan jogs happily to neutral corner. Gugino up quick, in good spirits, but Cohan surges to the attack - battering Carla ropeside via straight left/right/left salvo. Gugino blocking in high earmuff...Cohan raps another 3 punch combo off the guard; sets her hips and HOOKS paunch like a champ, bunching Gugino up grumpy. Ringing stuff from Cohan - rattling away on the defences left/right/left; hooking the tummy thick and stout; keeping her balance throughout and never falling-in or smothering herself on wilting Gugino.

R2: Carla a little frazzled: upbeat Lauren goes right at her. Cohan with a dukes-up approach - ranging in with jabs or lead rights; pounding a vigorous left/right/left straight-punch series off the guard, then looking for hooks or right hands of opportunity as Gugino gives ground. Carla's breasts becoming available to Cohan's thudding hook - Lauren just stepping in and clubbing away short n' brawny - getting her shoulder in behind tightly turned lefts with thumb pointing straight up. With Carla in sullen retreat - Lauren's just having her way - even getting a short, muscular little left uppercut into the act down the stretch. Bell: Carla with a stricken, sour expression - obviously feeling Lauren to the body.

R3; Gugino unpacks the jab, shocking it off Lauren's face PIK! PAK! Carla stepping to her left all sturdy, jab-jabbing her girl, right hand cocked at shoulder, launching short, drifting crosses-of-opportunity to chin. Lauren falling into lock-step - circling methodical with the veteran, trying to jab with her...Carla picking Cohan apart at her leisure. Gugino parrying the Cohan jab with the right palm; banging back stiff left/right spankers smartly off the face...Cohan looking dazzled as round wears on. Final minute - Carla stepping in the stiff left jab to paunch; crossing righty to chin, OR: stiff left jab to mouth, stooping to pound straight-righty to gut. Upstairs/downstairs slugging has Cohan staggering back on her heels, bleeding from left nostril/wide eyed with punishment at bell.

R4: Carla picks up where she left off: picking Lauren apart with methodical step-and-poke boxing. Cohan circling-with rather than pressuring the way she had been: Carla getting the pace and style she needs, outclassing LC midring. Gugino stiff and straight with her punches - punishing Cohan's face a pounding jab; jabbing body as prelude to a right hand up top; jabbing face to set up straight right hands to midsection. Cohan really catching it...head knocking back, worried eyes blinking and confused. Down the stretch, STIFF right cross kisses across Lauren's chin, leaving her staring: follow-on hook cashes in jaw and LAUREN GOES DOWN! Cohan stumbling back into ropes, then tumbling forward to all fours: Gugino gazing down with the heartless eyes of a Sicilian assassin at bell.

R5: Cohan shows guts, stepping in strong behind her jab; hooking off the jab with her thumb pointing up - turning that punch around so tight she's hitting her own right shoulder on follow-through. Gugino gritting her teeth, fighting through increased Cohan resistance...leads to spicy exchanges of stiff right hands and hooks - both women catching tart spank. Lauren proving the more stubborn down the stretch - coming forward at trudging pace; swinging the right hand PAK! to Gugino's leftside lats; plowing left hands to jug as Carla's legs give ground.

R6; Laura in a nice, strong legged stalking rhythm - knock-knocking the palm-down jab against Carla's mouth - startling her - then punching her crisp-righty to chin or jug. Gugino put wobbly-butt from a series of connects...she's attempting to withdraw, but Lauren finding her with delayed-action hooks wide to jugs. Cohan increases momentum, walking Carla down/beating her up in compact, bruising exchanges...Gugino wearing a groggy/grouchy expression as her legs start to shake. Down the stretch, Carla attempting to walk away to her right...Lauren steps in with a driving right to chin, locking up Gugino's legs as Carla's torso continues to travel...GUGINO GOES DOWN! Carla dropped to her back with head under bottom rope...she's a badly hurt vixen pulling herself rickety up from canvas at bell.

R7: Grim, trudging trade as Carla's legs a little too dicey to move her around...she's electing to jab her way into Lauren's jugs; hook with her, then tie up. Girls in grabby clinches around one another's biceps - each trying to hold left/smite righty, then cuddle for ref's breaks. Hard to score, but Carla conserving her legs with the approach, probably benefiting more than Cohan.

R8: Same again - grim, bludgeoning trade punctuated by waltzing clinches and clubbing hold-and-hit. Ref pushing panting beauties apart by flesh chests: eyes blazing, lips curling off teeth as fighters get mindless...they're just wading in, working, hanging on for ref's breaks. Bell: Gugino cleans up Lauren's tummy via late left hook...tempers flare as ref keeps Cohan from answering.

R9: Anger works well for Lauren: she hounds and pounds a weary Carla Gugino bell to bell. Carla showing a tired earmuff, standing still for Lauren's stiff, workmanlike jab between the mitts; cringing beneath the weight of Lauren's swinging right to lats; grunting as Lauren crowds close to fit hooks jugs and tummy. Cohan trudging, relentless...not a high-octane pursuit, but a determined and heavy-handed one. Bell: Gugino ragged, mouth wide open, buttocks wobbling en route to corner.

R10: Gugino took the 9th off, has a bit of jump here: early pounding jabs ejects the mouthpiece off Lauren's teeth, punching her into groggy stupor midring. Cohan reacting late as Carla's putting stiff lefts and rights to work on face...Lauren busting up, trying to walk through the work all stubborn-girl. Carla shifting to her right, turing Lauren...veteran keeping her girl on the end of shocking jabs, placing right hands and hooks thereafter. Middle minute - Lauren fielding hard touches, frequently getting her head punched all the way back as she's backpedaling from punishment. Cohan rallying, but ragged, truding forward into accurate fire: Gugino steadily laying it on Lauren, breaking the kid down in increments. Down the stretch, hook to the breasts/right chopped to paunch has Cohan grimacing...Carla spreads her out with the extended left, then leans in righty, drifting Cohan HARD to chin! Head straight back, chin pointed to ceiling - Lauren backpedaling over her heels, finally steadying herself with right hand on top rope. Gugino angling in over Lauren's left shoulder - batting the wide hook to chin again and again...Cohan sputters into ropes...baby-steps forward as hooks crash home and LAUREN'S DOWN! Cohan's legs give way, spilling her to knees and elbows with right side parallel to ropes...she's a pathetic sight pawing ropes with her right hand, trying to pull herself up. KO10 with just seconds left in the round Carla Gugino!

AFter: Gugino banged up but lovin' life: nice Welcome to the FCBA KO for Lauren has Carla beaming. "I'm not a doormat," Gugino exclaims in postfight. "You try to get traction in this sport through me, it's gonna be a long night, and Lauren took the beating that proves it. Kid came to fight, I'll give her that. She's sturdy, very determined, but she ran herself into a brick wall tonight!"
