After watching her humiliating one round defeat by Amelia Lily Oliver, Beevers manager Andrea McLean has given Az three fights to prove she is worth retaining, and the lovely Natalie is hoping to use this fight to box her way back into form after a longish layoff.
Az is first into the ring, the model slim and buffed in an orange bikini, and she looks confident even as Natalie joins her, the actress really sexy tonight in red basque and black knickers.
Round 1
The girls are both careful early on, with Natalie a little rusty, and Az must be fearful of another one round defeat, so they’re circling and jabbing neatly, respectfully, then Natalie lands three good punches to Az’s face, and the model slips backwards, stops short of the ropes, and the girls trade, with Az getting through Natalie’s defence, and Natalie backing away. Buoyed by success, Az comes forward, sticking some good punches on the actress, who responds well, counters to Royal’s body, but gets hit to the mouth, and she’s on the ropes for a while, takes a left hook to the cheek, then gets back at Az, rat-a-tatting the model to the face, and she’s hurt the girl in the final seconds, a good right hook stunning her.
Round 2
Az is quickly off her stool, and she’s helping herself to some nice cheap shots, but Natalie’s in really close, and she hits Az to the body, hard, swift punches, hurting her and weakening her, and she’s pushing the girl backwards. Az resists, clinching, the referee getting involved, and the girls reset, with Az moving back, Natalie following up, and she gets Az with a great one-two – that hurt her as well – and that’s a good right hook as well. Az is looking a little woozy out there now, drifting rather than skipping around the ring, and Natalie’s hitting her, landing measured punches, and there’s another combination – Az is down! Maybe Az really can’t cut it any more? She’s up at 6, but Natalie’s at her again, whips in another couple of tasty right handers, and the bell ends a painful round for Az.
Round 3
Natalie’s growing in confidence, and she’s starting to look good now, getting her feet moving , and she’s closed Az down, got her backed up to the ropes, and she’s probing now, the model defending herself, keeping her gloves up, but Natalie’s finding gaps, and she hurts Az with a sharp hook to the ribs this time, opens her up a little, finds her face with a one-two, and Az is clinching again. At least when the referee resets the girls Az is in the centre of the ring again, but Natalie’s got her reeling now, lands again to her mouth with a swift right hand, and she’s backed into the ropes again, Natalie cuffing her and really dominating now, the bell surely only giving Az a brief respite.
Round 4
Az has a problem with her left cheek now, as those right hooks have it bruised and swelling, and Natalie soon has the model in trouble again – lovely right to the body – Az gasps, takes another, eats a left and she’s cornered! Natalie senses victory – but Az fights back! She just slams punches across Natalie’s cheeks, making the older girl back away, and this is great stuff from a desperate boxer, but can she stop Natalie? No! Natalie’s just picked Az off again, good combination setting the kid up really, and there’s the right hook again, bang on the mouth – down goes Az! The model gets up again somehow at 8, but she must be regretting that, as Natalie whips in another one-two – she’s really putting Az through it with those, and Az is staggering, backing up again to the ropes – it’s over! The referee’s seen enough, and puts his arms around Az to stop her taking more punishment.
Result: Natalie Mendoza stopped Az Royal in round 4.
Well, it has to be said that Az’s future doesn’t look good, and she showed nothing tonight that will worry Sara Kavanagh too much – the Irish girl will be hot favourite to beat her in Az’s next fight.
Natalie did well – must be disappointed not to have knocked Az out, but she looks ready to take on young Abi Phillips in her next fight. |
