BEFORE: (VANCOUVER, CANADA) - Fighters journey to "Hollywood North" for a reunion of sorts - both girls highly prized competitors in the smaller, but very active Canadian fight-scene.

"I remember Laura when she was just starting out," Emmanuelle purrs in prefight. "She was the 'prettiest blonde you think you can beat', so we all ran at her...that was a tough initiation for her. I like that she took herself to the Beach and worked on her toughness - I've seen her absorb punishment now that would have made her quit years ago, so she's definitely improved. But this is my town, my turf and Laura knows that it's my ring, too. Gonna turn the clock back on this girl and remind her what life was like in the early days. Not gonna kid you: I'm going body on Laura - I'm breaking her spirit...this girl's gonna hurt when it's over."

Laura enjoying the party-like atmosphere of fight-weekend...Vancouver may be Vaugier's "turf" but Vandikins has a robust fan contingent in town as well. "I'm really looking forward to this fight," Laura acknowledges in prefight. "In Canada, Vaugier's known as something of a 'blonde assassin' and her skills are world class...taking her down is going to be amazing. I feel like she's a little vulnerable now - getting a little long in the tooth...still dangerous of course, but I'm no sacrificial lamb. I'm one of the best fighters in LA now and Emmanuelle needs to respect that."

R2: Laura jabbing, then looping a wide, slapping hook off the jab, then fitting Vaugier for a jamming straight right short to chin! Vaugier reeling away from the blast, eyes wide...she's shellshocked and Laura's on the pounce! Blonde girl setting down in her stance now, left hand dangling to thigh/right hand at cheek...Laura snapping the up-jab off the hip; IMMEDIATELY dropping crisp right hands in between - blonde girl extending on punches, tattooing Vaugier brisk one-twos outside. Emmanuelle flustered - keeping her hands up, but Laura's penetrating, scoring on face and breasts, backing Vaugier up. Down the stretch, Laura graduates from the sharp one-two, adding in an extra, rising left hand and another right...Vaugier rattled back by four-punch combos, getting picked apart late. Bell: Blonde girl frowning, blue eyes blazing as she posts her second straight shutout; Vaugier bleeding from the nose, blinking in astonishment at Laura's authority through 2.

R3: Vaugier trading up-jabs off the hip/leaning into right hands with Laura...brunette clips blonde to chin, reloads, feeds Laura an extra right hand and BLONDE GIRL HURT! Vandigirl staring, stepping in fence post holes...Vaugier hops close, bats the waist a series of lashing left hooks, driving Laura butt-first to ropes. Blonde girl forms tight earmuff, stooping forward as Vaugier crowds close, rips additional hooks to waist - brunette making good on her promise to chop at blonde body. Minute mark, intense slugging from Laura off the ropes sees girls exchange short rights and lefts in tight...DOWN GOES VAUGIER! Laura ringing up chin in trade, sitting Vaugier down in a fog...brunette with curly locks in her eyes, lips parted in shock as blonde strides past en route to neutral corner. Emmanuelle rallies after 8, engaging Laura via spicy lead rights to face, hooks to chin, and two-way body shining as girls lay in to stroke. Vandervoort outworked, outfought in the third minute fire-fighting...gutsy Vaugier denying blonde the chance to clean up after knockdown. Scored a regular 10-9 for Laura, given that she'd been badly rocked at the start.

R4: Feint to the body freezes Laura - Vaugier hops in close, jams the short left hook to chin and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Blonde on her buns-and-elbows, looking up in shock...'Manny all blazing dark eyes and snarling lips, batting her mitts together. Laura rallies off the deck, but she's shabby...upon resumption it's all Vaugier treating herself to a trembling blonde girl at the ropes. Laura in tight earmuff, trying to keep her guard together...Vaugier crowding close, using a bumping left shoulder in blonde guard to stabilize, then tanning those hips/ribs via snap-snatching two-mitt delivery downstairs. Cruel stuff - Vaugier stacking Laura up and bouncing mitts off meat...Vandervoort's legs locking up as she absorbs the blows...blonde girl listless, cramping up at ropes as Vaugier romps to glory through 4.

R5: Laura gunshy, going back to the stiff up-jab off the hip from a planted stance - right hand cocked at chin for ready deployment. Vaugier bobbing, menacing Laura with decoy jabs to left hip and jug...Emmanuelle looking to find the range for a slicing right hand and VAUGIER GOES DOWN! Sudden left jab brushes across brunette eye-line, screening her...she never sees the straight right slam into the point of her chin, dropping her to her back. Bad knockdown - Vaugier spreading flat-out, hands flopping up above her head...she's out for a couple of seconds before RALLYING OFF THE DECK! Heroic effort to beat the count, but OH, 'Manny's shabby...brunette swaying on the spot, lifting mitts to temples as BLONDE GIRL WADES IN! Laura baring her teeth, stepping close while her left hand extends to touch Vaugier's guard, then OH, that lashing sidearm right to the body! Vaugier sobbing out, sitting into ropes, stooping forward behind her mitts...Vandervoort touching/pushing with the left on Vaugier's guard, propping her, then dosing her that wicked buggywhip right in the body, belting it in there loud behind Vaugier's left elbow. Sarah Carter - herself a long time apartment nemesis to Vaugier - standing and applauding...women like Lexa Doig less pleased, openly showing pursed-lipped disapproval as Laura slops the hurt to Emmanuelle. IT'S TOO MANY RIGHT HANDS! Vaugier just heartbroken at the punishment, rolling her right shoulder into ropes, moving left elbow over her hip to protect, moving right hand palm-out at her left cheek...she's cowering, helpless to stop blonde rain! Laura belting away to glory, beating her mitts in pelting right/left salvos on unresisting meat and THE REF STEPS IN! TKO5 Laura Vandervoort!

After: Laura leaping away as ref cuddles battered Vaugier to safety...tremendous personal accomplishment for Vandervoort as she takes care of a fearsome Vancouver fighting legend tonight. Audience contains the cream of Canadian fighting celebrity - Erica Durance and Tricia Helfer both applauding; Francoise Yip and Pascale Hutton showing grudging admiration; Lexa Doig and Emily Ullerup pissed; Sarah Carter up out of her seat and into the ring to hug the stuffing out of victorious Laura. "It's amazing to stop Emmanuelle," Laura gushes in postfight - a beaming Carter visible in the background. "She's so ferocious and hard-hitting...honestly, when I went down, I didn't know if I could pull this out. I knew I was hitting her hard though - I don't think she was expecting that. I think she thought I was still that 'Smallville' trophy-victim who would fold under the first sign of a consistent body attack and a bad attitude. Guess what? Not that girl anymore!"
