BEFORE:

"I don't have the best record," says Cobie with a hint of a smile. "But, I haven't had the easiest time, either. Six years with no management. Taking what I could get. Being an opponent for the girls at the top of the food chain. But, that's changed. I'm at Mirage now. And I'm going to show they were right to have faith in me."

"She's dangerous, " says a hard-eyed Leelee. "And not just a little bit. Because this is a big fight for her. Well, it's even bigger for me. It wasn't long ago that I was the only welter at Front Street. Now, there are FOUR of us. Which means you don't want to stumble. And I don't plan to."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "That is Lita Ford and 'Kiss Me, Deadly' you hear, and coming down the aisle is the lovely Cobie Smulders of Mirage Boxing..."

Tess: "As I've said before, Smulders is intriguing. She doesn't have a great record, but she's fought a lot of top-level girls. We'll see if her new management can get Cobie going."

O'Dell: "Smulders into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a deep blue bikini. Former model still looks plenty good..."

McCarthy: "A little skinny and not enough up top to be a Playmate..."

Tess: "HERE we go..."

O'Dell: "And, right on cue, there's 'Uprising' by Muse, and here comes 'The Polish Princess', Leelee Sobieski, accompanied by Maria Menounos, who came over from Empire Boxing to help her train for this fight..."

McCarthy: "As you know, Sobieski and I aren't exactly chummy. But, I gained some respect for the kid the way she handled herself against Gena. And the way she refused to make excuses for her loss. Gotta give her credit. The kid was all class."

O'Dell: "No staredown between Leelee and Mac this time. Sobieski into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Pink to reveal that familiar black number, and it's time to talk picks. Tess, you've got Leelee as a narrow favorite here. How about you, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I agree that the Smulders kid can fight some. But, Walmart's right on this one. Sobieski a slight favorite."

O'Dell: "And, here we go. Sobieski to work behind her own big left hand. Cobie looking to circle. Smulders showing good feet, but Leelee still finding her with that left hand, landing the right in follow up occasionally."

McCarthy: "Leelee's athletic for a welter. Moves well. Cobie trying to use those legs, but Leelee's relentless in the chase."

O'Dell: "Smulders jabbing and circling, bobbing the head and shoulders. Sobieski patient. Gets to her spot and gets off. Leelee forcing Cobie backward...AND DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

Tess: "BIG shot!"

O'Dell: "Smulders pounds the canvas. Clearly upset at getting caught. Referee picks the count up at three, four, five. Cobie to her feet. Takes the mandatory. And the referee going to let it continue. Sobieski moves in quickly, but Smulders lands a nice flurry! Sobieski responds, and Cobie, gritty, fires right back. The fighters toe to toe and banging away."

McCarthy: "Cobie holding her ground. Showing an awful lot of want-to in the face of that knockdown!"

O'Dell: "And they trade right to the bell! Little eye lock right there, Mac, as if Cobie was telling Leelee this thing is far from over!"

McCarthy: "And she's right. Long way to go, but Sobieski up 10-8 after one."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second now, and Sobieski advancing behind that left hand. Smulders looking to circle, but Leelee cutting her off, forcing her backward, closing and banging to the body with the right hook."

McCarthy: "Leelee is an athletic welter. She moves very well, as Cobie's finding out. Leelee's staying in front of her, despite Cobie's efforts."

O'Dell: "Sobieski bodying up and banging away. Forcing Smulders back, getting big in a big way. Cobie firing back counter, but mostly forced to the defensive."

McCarthy: "Sobieski normally fights from range, but she's got the size advantage here and she's making good use of it."

O'Dell: "Scoring with both hands to the head and the body. Smulders backed up and bodied up as Sobieski lands a nice three-punch flurry at the bell and extends her lead."

Tess: "20-17 through two. Good start for the blonde."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in the third and Leelee right back to the offensive. Sobieski advancing behind the big left hand, forcing Cobie out of her positions, bodying up and banging away downstairs."

McCarthy: "Sobieski really establishing control here. She's built an early lead and she's fighting her fight."

Tess: "How important IS getting an early lead like Leelee has, Mac?"

McCarthy: "It can be HUGE. How many fights have we seen that end up being a one-point decision or go OT? If a girl could have saved a point somewhere, the result might have been different. Remember the three points Kreuk saved against Seyfried? Went OT and Kreuk won it in 13. That one swing turned the fight."

O'Dell: "Sobieski is looking to add to that cushion, as she continues pressuring Smulders behind that left hand. Cobie still trying to use the legs, get some space and circle, but Leelee preventing it."

McCarthy: "Leelee's not letting Cobie breathe. Just constantly pressuring."

O'Dell: "Smulders jabbing, trying to slip away. Sobieski cuts her off, closing and banging...GOOD LEFT-RIGHT, SMULDERS AND DOWN GOES SOBIESKI!"

McCarthy: "Cobie absolutely dialed that IN, Jenny! Landed the left hook on the button and dropped her with the straight right follow!"

O'Dell: "And Smulders now in the neutral corner as the referee counts over Sobieski. Five. Six. Leelee to her feet at seven. Going to take the mandatory, and on comes Cobie! Smulders looking for the off switch here, but Leelee banging right back and it's toe to toe again! Blonde and brunette hammering away, landing heavy shot!"

McCarthy: "Neither one going to give an inch and the crowd LOVES it!"

O'Dell: "Patrons of the Asylum on their feet as Smulders and Sobieski trade leather to the bell!"

Tess: "There's that eye lock again. Smulders sending a message, but she sent the big one with her fists."

McCarthy: "And Leelee might have prevented a clean up, but Cobie just flipped three points like Kreuk. Was going to be 30-26. And now it's 28-27. Sobieski's lead just got really slim."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "There's the bell for the fourth and Smulders again looking to circle. Sobieski quickly cuts her off, backs her up with a double tap left. Cobie a right hand counter, but Sobieski walks through it, forces the brunette back with a sharp one-two. Cobie thrown over to the defensive as Leelee ratchets up the pressure."

McCarthy: "Smulders needs to try and angle a little bit here. She can't stand in front of Leelee all night."

O'Dell: "Cobie ties the blonde up, slips away on the break. Circling right. Sobieski cuts her off. Cobie circles left...RIGHT HOOK, LEELEE AND DOWN SHE GOES!"

McCarthy: "Got her moving toward power and dropped the hammer!"

O'Dell: "Leelee to a neutral corner. Referee's count to four. Five. Six. Seven. Cobie to her knees. Eight. Nine. She can't get up! TEN! IT'S OVER! Your winner by KO4 is 'The Polish Princess', Leelee Sobieski!"

McCarthy: "Watch this last punch on replay. Sobieski cuts the ring on Cobie, who's circling right, away from Leelee's power. Cobie starts to circle left and Leelee's already stepping forward into that right hook. BOOM! Give Smulders credit for making it as far as her knees after THAT."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Leelee Sobieski, and, Leelee, big win for you..."

Leelee: "Make no mistake, she can fight, Tess. She's as good as anyone I've been in with except Gena. And she's tough. I let her have it and she wouldn't punk. I had a lot of respect for her coming in, and I've got even more now. So, yeah. It was a big win. Like I said before the fight, you can't afford to stumble at Front Street. There's too much competition."
