BEFORE: "I've been beating Texas blondes my whole life," Michelle says, oozing New York confidence in prefight. "They talk bigger than they fight, put it that way. Amber's coming in loud and wild, but she's gonna leave meek and tamed. It's a 'get-noticed' fight on PPV, and there's no damn way I'm letting her shine at my expense!"

Heard unimpressed - sizing Michelle up harshly in rebuttal. "She's a Vandervoort-brunette," Amber shrugs, "the pretty girl you love to stock your trophy case with. She can fight, but let's face it: she's 8 years older than me, and they ain't a 'good' 8 - they're the wrong-side-of-30 8. That's the kind of age that gets girls hurt when they're in the ring with young-and-hungry. Look for the big jack early, boys: I ain't looking to carry this wench!"

During R1: Michelle placing her jab directly between Amber's jugs; pushing in a brisk right cross from the shoulder - just making blonde's acquaintance. Swinging lefts and rights from Heard - she's dropping mitt to hip, pitching up and across from there - getting her back and hips into shots. Michelle respecting Texan power: rolling-with the blows; stepping clockwise around educated brunette jab; picking spots to come in pasting - both mitts criss-crossing against Amber's face...then Michelle withdraws on springy legs. Bell: Michelle all business back to her corner, refusing to rise to the bait as Heard mocks Borth's hitting-power.

R2: Heard smarter, more effective this round - ranging-in with a stiff left jab; trading swift rights and lefts in toe-to-toe punching contests, forcing Borth to withdraw. Blonde girl walking her brunette down, but not brazen about it: Michelle well organized, flurrying out of the corners - Amber respectfully covering up to block while Borth's making her get-aways. Down the stretch, Amber whacking Michelle's right hip/flank with a Mexican-style hook off the front (left) leg, putting a grumpy frown on Borth's beautiful face late. Heard showing the benefits of fighting Mexican border-town smokers early in her career - she's a fairly polished, hard-nosed little package early.

R3: Girls trading crisp right/lefts...Michelle gets the worst of hook-exchange, wobbling out of orbit with stricken expression. Heard pouncing in with chopping right to cheek, swiveling Michelle's head and DROPPING HER DOWN! Borth scattered to all fours, looking dumbfounded on her knees...she takes a rickety 8 while Heard's posing for pictures in neutral corner. Resume: lots of time on the clock - blonde girl stalks her brunette to ring-corners; jabs Michelle into a defensive ear-muff front; hooks her thick behind right elbow; swings a belting right roundhouse to Michelle's left flank. Brunette rattled in the pocket, then escaping along ring-aprons...blonde happy to walk her girl down, hit her a few more shots, then pursue. Shutout Amber: she's grinning, tossing blonde curls, having fun; Borth cranky, ass-kicked through 3.

R4: Girls taking turns...Amber will form rigid earmuff, stooping forward to receive batting, pesky punishment upon her arms; standing firm against Borth's digging left hooks behind blonde right elbow. Heard answering back in kind - beating on Borth's defensive front, hooking her body; getting blonde back into wide, belting right hands to left-side lats. Even trading, but Heard's weight-of-shot prevails...she's beating Michelle up in the exchanges, walking her down as Borth retreats to regroup.

R5: Similar stuff as Michelle shows she's not afraid to trade, but Borth using a bit more leg - touching Amber tic-tac-toe, then pivoting around; feeding her the jab as blonde-girl turns-with; pasting her right crosses to chin as blonde girl's opening up. Heard taking Michelle's punches well, but the extra volume combined with crafty angles have blonde falling off the pace through 5.

R6: Heard jabbing stiff, forcing Michelle into earmuff, then OH, how Amber cleans up on body. Steady, determined lashes - blonde girl deliberately going at brunette chassis to take Borth's legs out of the fight. Blonde popping hips side to side as she belts away rights and lefts - often with hands low/arms akimbo - really getting her back into wide, shellacking wallops. Borth staggering around in her stance - taking it thick to waist and flanks...ugly realization setting in that Michelle's hurt, unable to answer as blonde girl just keeps applying the strap. All pays off in the dying moments - Michelle grimacing in pain, finally absorbing a hook across her belly that's just too much...she turns to her right, sinking to haunches-and-hands, mouth wide open and sobbing for breath at bell. Amber grinning, blowing blonde curls out of her eyes, nodding fiercely at some well-wishers ringside...Heard applying a thick coat of punishment in the sixth and she is LOVING it.

R7: Desperate grimace on Borth's face - desperation evident in her punching as she flurries Amber's front, then scampers away. Heard walking in, covering up at Borth pelts away...no harm done, but Michelle able to outwork her girl in skittish engagements. Heard mocking Michelle, walking her down...blonde girl content to have brunette spend up the last of her waning reserves in a series of delaying actions, all around the ring.

R8: Heard wading in, blocking strong as Michelle douses her in whirling lefts and rights...then blonde answers viciously to ribcage right/left. Borth cringing, face grimacing in anguish...she's tender to the body, no longer able to take Heard's work. Michelle flurrying arm-punches to keep Heard off, but blonde walks through it, shellacks the body a wide right hand to ribs/digging left uppercut to belly...brunette stumbles to ropes, gasping. Amber steps-to - jabbing Michelle into defensive earmuff prior to bouncing a murderous right hand off Borth's cringing ribs...brunette crying out, sagging into ropes visibly stricken. AMBER POURS THROUGH THE BREACH! Blonde girl treating herself to one of the prettiest brunette faces in boxing - straight rights hands/chopping little lefts shredding the defences! Michelle's head jolting about, hands drooping as she slumps helpless against ropes...too much Amber - Borth just can't stop the rain and THE REF STEPS IN! TKO8 as Heard batters Borth thug-style!

After: Heard all cocky grins and confident nods in postfight - comprehensive hip-to-head beating of a beautiful brunette has Amber in high spirits. "Sorry it took so long fellahs!" Amber quips in postfight. "Had to kick the fight out of her first - she had some spunk in her, didn't want to lie down, so she stood in there for the long-beat. She's quick and tricky, but once I gentled her down to the body it was over...her punches just got weaker and weaker as the fight went on. Great stay-busy fight for me - got some rounds; feelin' good...I could probably go another 10 right now if anyone's willing!"
