BEFORE:

"She can fight some," says Britney. "She's slick. And she's game, no question about it. She's just not as good as I am. No shame in that. No one ELSE in the division is, either."

"She is a champion, a Hall of Famer, and number one contender," says a smiling Elodie. "Well, I, too, am a champion. And, today I'll prove that once again."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Bonjour, fans, and welcome to Palais Omnisports in Paris, where a sellout crowd of 16, 000 is here to see a battle of champions as Britney Spears and Elodie Frege meet in the ring for the first time! I'm Jenny O'Dell along with The Loose Cannon Of The FCBA, Jenny 'Mac The Knife' McCarthy and Tractorpull's Tess Valmore, and ladies, quite the venue for tonight's festivities!"

McCarthy: "This place is fantastic! Just driving up to the arena was a treat. It's gorgeous both inside and out. Not like that DUMP where we usually work..."

Tess: "While I'll agree with Mac that this is one of the most beautiful sports venues in the world, Asylum is FAR from a dump..."

McCarthy: "I wasn't talking about Asylum. I was talking about the entire CITY of Philadelphia!"

O'Dell: "And, before we hear from the mayor, that's 'Circus' you hear on the sound system, and that can only mean Hall of Famer Britney Spears is on her way to the ring."

McCarthy: "Brit being led to the ring by Jewel and sister Jamie Lynn, who, of course, has been shifted off the active roster at Front Street because the Weirdo and his horrible training staff don't know what they're doing!"

O'Dell: "Britney into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a sea foam green number that has the crowd's attention...and now the Parisian crowd is on its feet! It hears 'De L'eau', and it knows the former BBU Bantamweight Champion, Elodie Frege is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "And Frege soaking up the hometown cheers! Taking her time coming down. Enjoying the moment. Don't blame her. Getting Britney Spears to come to YOUR hometown for a fight? Pretty special."

O'Dell: "Elodie, of course, representing the Latin Union. Helped off with the robe to reveal a purple number that has the crowd buzzing. Ladies, we're getting ready to go. Tess on record as favoring Britney. How about you, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Britney's the favorite against just about ANY bantam in the FCBA, except ME and maybe Munn. But, these are DANGEROUS waters. This is the World Cup for Frege. It's a friendly against Faroe Islands for Britney. Spears needs to be on her game tonight, or she'll have her hands full."

O'Dell: "And there's the bell for the first and Elodie wants to work that long left. She's got a reach advantage here and wants to make the best of it. Britney, however, not having any. Rolling the shoulders, moving the head, not allowing Frege to land, looking to counter off the Frenchwoman's offense."

Tess: "Britney one of the best counter punchers in the FCBA, and you're seeing evidence of that right now. Very patient, willing to wait on Elodie, then time her on the counter."

O'Dell: "Elodie not able to put punches together. One punch and then Britney's onto the offense with a return flurry. Elodie bouncing punches off the arms, gloves, shoulders, can't land anything clean."

McCarthy: "And Brit just relaxed, waiting for the inevitable openings, and, when she gets them, she's scoring with both hands."

O'Dell: "And one last flurry in counter at the bell forces Frege to cover up and ends a shutout round for Spears."

McCarthy: "Vintage Britney right there, gang. Up 10-9 after one."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second now and Spears back to work in counter. Frege trying to get some offense working, but can't put punches together."

McCarthy: "Britney's defense can be frustrating. She doesn't dance around or anything, but she has quick hands and shows a lot of movement. It's hard to square her up."

O'Dell: "As Elodie is finding out. Spears waiting on Frege, then getting off. Scoring points...AND ELODIE LANDS A RIGHT HAND AND WOBBLES SPEARS!"

McCarthy: "Sneaky little right hook UNDER Britney's left. And Frege now going to work!"

O'Dell: "Brit backed into the ropes. Elodie not going all in for a stoppage. Just landing in combination now. Finding holes as Britney covers up and scoring points! Crowd on it's feet as Elodie lands a BIG flurry at the bell!"

McCarthy: "Stole the round, Jenny. And this is the kind of thing Frege needs to do to win here. Find ways to get some points she maybe shouldn't, and she just did."

Tess: "19 all after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round underway and Elodie looking to pressure, but Spears looking fully recovered from that right hand, back to working the counter. Frege patiently assaulting Spears' defenses, but most of her shell is being deflected by gloves, arms, shoulders, and Brit using the resultant openings to score some solid hits of her own."

Tess: "Got to be careful if you're Frege here. Can't get sloppy offensively, because Britney can make you pay in a big way."

McCarthy: "Exactly, Walmart. If you're a girl with a lot of power, maybe you take chances and try to get HER before SHE gets you, but that's not Elodie's game. So, she has to be careful and disciplined."

Tess: "Was that YOUR strategy against Britney, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Sometimes. It's a risk, but it can work."

O'Dell: "Speaking of work, Britney the one getting it done here in the third, having the better of the exchanges, forcing Elodie to cover up at times. Frege able to land in spots, but, again, not in combination. And there's the bell for the third, and Spears wins it comfortably."

Tess: "29-28 Britney, through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round underway and Spears now looking for a bit more offense. Elodie backing up now as Britney comes forward, and the French beauty willing to go back to the ropes and fight from the pocket."

McCarthy: "This is a look we've seen from Frege before, but I don't like it here. You don't try to out-Britney Britney."

O'Dell: "Spears assaulting the pocket effectively, snapping jabs, hooking the body with the right."

Tess: "Not loading up though. Doesn't look like Brit's thinking 'knockout' here."

McCarthy: "She SHOULD be. Take this kid out right now. Don't let her hang around. This isn't a sparring session, but that's the feel you're getting from what Britney's doing."

O'Dell: "Spears patient, showing the hand speed and skill that got her in the Hall of Fame. People who, maybe, haven't seen this girl on stage and have watched her destroy girls in the ring with that power have maybe forgotten how athletic she is, but you're seeing it now. Excellent foot movement, head bobbing, quick hands. Frege game, but outclassed in this round as the bell sounds ending a Britney shutout."

Tess: "39-37 Spears through four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in the fifth and Frege back to her Britney impression. Elodie backing into the ropes and fighting counter from the pocket..."

McCarthy: "If I didn't know better, I'd think Weirdo and his talentless trainers were responsbile for this game plan. You don't slug with Foreman, you don't box with Ali, and you don't fight out of the pocket with Britney..."

O'Dell: "Frege's doing it, though. And Britney's all about the assault now, working body with that right hand, jabbing to the head with the left...AND DOWN SHE GOES! FREGE WITH THAT SHORT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "Under the left jab again!"

O'Dell: "Crowd on its feet! Spears up quickly, shaking her head. eems to be OK. Takes the mandatory and on comes Elodie. Frege letting 'em go, but Britney fires right back, backing up the French beauty..."

Tess: "Frege doesn't want to stand and bang with Britney..."

O'Dell: "Right you are, Tess. Elodie willing to give ground and she's back to the pocket. Britney back to work on the assault like nothing happened."

McCarthy: "Spears doing a lot of body work right now, turning up the heat a little. But Elodie's comfortable off the ropes. Countering back."

O'Dell: "Spears having the better of things to the bell, but the knockdown will play."

Tess: "10-8 round. 47 all after five."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth round underway and Spears a bit more aggressive now. Thumping home right hands off that left jab. Frege showing some movement now, doing some circling, snapping out her left, looking for an opening for the right hand."

McCarthy: "Britney able to square up and get off. Frege not running, though, firing back before she moves to reset."

Tess: "Can't stand there too long, though."

McCarthy: "Correct, Walmart. It's a thin edge. She wants to score in counter, but, she doesn't want to STAY in front of Britney."

O'Dell: "Spears a good left-right! That right was her best punch of the fight so far. Elodie giving ground now, still snatching back in spots, but Spears establishing control."

McCarthy: "Wouldn't know it from the crowd, though. Every Frege flurry gets a roar from the fans."

O'Dell: "And they get one more chance to roar at the bell as a sharp exchange punctuates a good round that puts Britney back in front."

Tess: "57-56. Think some folks in the FCBA are looking for the Latin Union's number so they can book this girl?"

McCarthy: "She's game and she's hot. And, after tonight, I suspect she'll be able to sell a ticket or two."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We begin the seventh with Britney giving some ground now after three rounds of fighting lead. Frege working both hands as Spears backs to the ropes and gets into the pocket."

McCarthy: "Back where we were in the first three, with Britney looking to counter. I like this strategy. No need for her to go after this kid. Make Frege come to her."

O'Dell: "And that's what Elodie's doing, working away at Spears' defenses. Britney looking to counter, having some success, but this is a busier Frege than we saw in the earlier rounds..."

McCarthy: "This kid's gotten the idea that she can WIN this fight..."

Tess: "You don't think she thought she could win coming in?"

McCarthy: "It's like a two touchdown underdog in football, Walmart. You come into the game thinking you have a chance if you play your best and get a break or two. Then, all of a sudden, it's late third quarter and the game is tied and you start thinking, 'Hey, we can WIN this thing!' And that's where Frege is right now."

O'Dell: "And Elodie working hard for points here. Home crowd cheering with every flurry. Spears landing in counter and scoring as well, but Frege's volume is carrying the day."

McCarthy: "Britney needs to be looking for a finisher here. This thing is too close for comfort."

O'Dell: "There's the bell, and Frege's tied this thing up."

Tess: "66 all through seven. And, if Mac's right, and I've got no doubt of it, Elodie's confidence is through the roof."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth round begins and Frege again wants to fight lead and Spears more than willing to allow it. Britney getting comfy along the ropes and Elodie again beginning to shell those prepared defenses. Spears more active this round, countering more crisply. Frege again using a lot of volume to try and suppress Spears."

McCarthy: "Not working as well this round, though. Britney scoring much better and we're seeing a lot of spirited exchanges like THAT one that has the crowd on its feet!"

O'Dell: "Both girls landed some clean stuff and this has become a bitter, two-way battle as Elodie keeps attacking with gusto and Britney fires back with as much or more."

Tess: "Fans have gotten their money's worth tonight, Mac!"

McCarthy: "Worth every peso these folks have spent!"

Tess: "The French don't use...now they use...but, even BEFORE..."

O'Dell: "You'd need a whiteboard and a lot of colored markers, Tess..."

McCarthy: "What ARE you two talking about?"

O'Dell: "Right now we're talking about another big exchange that has the crowd roaring. Elodie with a big flurry and Britney answering back! Neither girl willing to back down as they swap leather right to the bell that ends the round!"

McCarthy: "Britney's round, but close. Closest round so far."

Tess: "76-75 Spears with two to go. Still anyone's fight."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth round underway and Frege to work quickly! Elodie all over Britney off the bell, landing with both hands in combination. Spears backs into the ropes and sets up the pocket. Frege all about the energy right now, going after Spears as Britney looks to counter, but mainly stays on the defensive."

McCarthy: "No doubt what Elodie's thinking. Win this round and she can win the fight in the next round!"

Tess: "And Britney may be thinking that, too, as she's firing back now, coming off the ropes and backing Elodie up!"

O'Dell: "Britney back to fighting lead now. Frege forced over to the defensive and now the French beauty is on the ropes defending the pocket. Spears banging away with heavy leather as Elodie gives the roll and counter routine."

McCarthy: "And, again, this isn't going to work against Brit."

O'Dell: "Not at the moment, anyway. Frege under seige and unable to do much offensively. Spears now going to work on the body, piling up points as Frege works hard on defense. Britney laying into those ribs now, but Frege defiant, bangs back with a combination that Britney answers with a SOLID right at the bell!"

Tess: "Spears' round, no question."

McCarthy: "86-84. Frege's going to need a big tenth."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Fans on their feet for the start of the final round, encouraging the hometown favorite, Elodie Frege. And Elodie quickly getting to work, going right after Britney. Spears again allowing Frege to fight lead, willing to fight off the ropes and defend the pocket."

McCarthy: "Good strategy here as long as you're confident about the cards. Only way Frege can win is with something big, so go to the pocket and deny her."

O'Dell: "Spears willing to counter in spots here, let Elodie get her work done."

McCarthy: "Again, this is smart if you think you've got the cards. No sense playing for a knockout because people predicted you'd knock someone out. You want the win. That's what you came here for."

O'Dell: "Elodie definitely wants it, too. Working hard against Britney's defenses. This French crowd LOVING what it sees from this girl..."

Tess: "And they should be. She's fought VERY well tonight."

O'Dell: "And she's not done yet! Banging away with both hands right up to the bell! And there it is! And here comes one of those hugs Mac hates..."

Tess: "Don't blame either of them. Great fight."

McCarthy: "Elodie's round, but, unless our cards are wrong, it won't be enough. One point duke for Britney."

O'Dell: "Decision being announced, and the scoring is 95-94 in favor of your winner by UD10, Britney Spears!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Britney Spears, and Brit, don't remember you going ten with someone and not landing something big. Are you a little jet lagged or something?"

Britney: "Oh, don't make this about ME, Tess. I'm fine. This is about Frege. She fought a great fight in front of the home crowd tonight. Give her the credit."

Tess: "Did she give you more of a fight than you expected?"

Britney: "In a way, no. I mean, she's got a reputation of being game as it gets, and it was clear you weren't going to make her quit or discourage her. She was going to keep coming no matter what you did. So, it was just a matter of finding a way to beat her."

Tess: "Mac says she might get some FCBA work as a result of tonight..."

Britney: "She should. She's as good if not better than a lot of girls in the division."
