BEFORE:

"It just didn't work out with me joining Front Street," says Laura. "There's no hard feelings on either end. It just wasn't a fit. But, I worked with Leelee a lot when I spent that month here. I know her very well. And I always thought I was better than her. Tonight, I get a chance to prove it."

"Laura knows me well," says Leelee. "And I know her pretty well, too. So, there won't be any surprises tonight. None at all."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that little ditty is 'Been Caught Stealing' by Jane's Addiction, one of the favorite bands of the tall blonde beauty heading down to ringside, Laura Prepon..."

Tess: "Interesting fact about Laura. People think she's a natural redhead. She's not. She's a natural brunette who went red for 'That 70's Show', then blonde for a movie role..."

McCarthy: "Laura, of course, is originally from Connie Chung, New Jersey..."

Tess: "WHAT??? Is that next to Maury Povich, New Jersey?"

McCarthy: "Do your OWN research, Walmart..."

O'Dell: "Um, where exactly did you get THIS little tidbit, Mac?"

Tess: "I'm guessing whacknutpedia..."

McCarthy: "No! I looked it up on Wikipedia last night! The town USED to be called Watchung, but they changed it to 'Connie Chung'..."

O'Dell: "Somebody was victimized by a vandalized wikipedia page..."

Tess: "And my guess is, that page was edited by a little blonde on a pink laptop...who's looking QUITE amused in the owner's box as we speak..."

McCarthy: "GET THAT CAMERA OFF HER!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Laura into the ring, helped off with the robe, and looking VERY good in that deep blue number...and that's 'Uprising' by Muse pounding through the arena and here comes 'The Polish Princess', Leelee Sobieski..."

McCarthy: "Never had any respect for this kid until I saw how she handled herself after fighting Big Bad Gena Lee. Didn't whine or complain like SOME of these girls do..."

O'Dell: "Leelee into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Britney to reveal the black number she favors, and, the ladies look to be about ready. Tess has picked Leelee tonight. What do you think, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Couple boxer/punchers. Prepon's got a puncher's chance, but Sobieski's the better fighter and she's my pick to win."

O'Dell: "Three straight agreements. We're going for the record. There's the bell for the first, and the two blondes right to the jab, Laura showing a nice, quick left and Sobieski responding with that..."

McCarthy: "Don't SAY it..."

O'Dell: "Front Street Jab..."

McCarthy: "It's a...NEVERMIND..."

O'Dell: "Good, competitive stuff here. Both big blondes getting the offense working. Sobieski finding the range with that piston left and dropping rights. Prepon has just as much length as Leelee and putting it to good use, landing in combination herself."

McCarthy: "Crowd loves a fight like this. Both girls going after it, landing good, clean stuff."

O'Dell: "Laura a solid right hand...LEFT HOOK, LEELEE AND DOWN GOES PREPON!"

Tess: "That came out of NOWHERE!"

McCarthy: "Laura stepped forward into a right and Leelee timed the left over her glove before she could bring it back!"

O'Dell: "Sobieski to a neutral corner. Referee's count at four, five. Prepon up at six. Takes the mandatory. Referee going to allow it to continue. Sobieski forward immediately and lands a left-right, but there's the bell, ending the first. Great start for Leelee!"

Tess: "What might have been an even round goes 10-8. That was a big punch for Sobieski!"

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round begins with Sobieski on the hunt now. Leelee working forward behind that big left jab. Laura now more defensive, jabbing and moving, not willing to allow long engagements."

McCarthy: "A little gun-shy right now."

O'Dell: "Might be. Sobieski, meanwhile, getting the work done. Using the long left to locate, dropping right hands into open spots. Prepon countering on occasion, but not sticking around long enough for any significant trading."

Tess: "Laura's got to be a little more aggressive. Seems to have the legs back. She's got to put punches together and score some points."

O'Dell: "Not happening at the moment. Leelee patiently stalking, locating, scoring, then continuing the chase as Prepon slips away and resets. There's the bell ending the second, and it's another good round for Leelee."

Tess: "20-17 through two. Sobieski starting to take control."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round underway and a nice exchange to start it. Both fighters landed some clean stuff there and the crowd appreciates it!"

McCarthy: "Looks like Laura got a talking to between rounds. No more giving ground. Willing to engage again and scoring points as a result."

O'Dell: "Both tall blondes back to working off that jab. Laura using quite a bit of head movement now, moving her feet, very busy. Leelee steady, working that heavy left, looking for openings with the right."

McCarthy: "Prepon putting punches together now and it's working for her. She's getting in a rhythm and scoring well from range."

O'Dell: "Both ladies in boxing mode at the moment and both having their moments. Prepon having success with a right hook to the body off the jab. Sobieski mostly working upstairs as the third comes to an end. Close one, ladies, but I think Laura's on the board."

Tess: "Agreed. Prepon's round. 29-27 through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round underway and our two blonde welters back to work, again fighting at range, working their jabs."

Tess: "Prepon showing some fast hands here, Mac..."

McCarthy: "This is an interesting match up at welter, something you don't see that much. Both of these girls can box. They both have good hands and feet. They aren't just brawlers or sluggers, as some of the welters are. They've got a few more arrows in the quiver."

O'Dell: "And it's leading to some entertaining exchanges. Laura landing in combination and Leelee responding in kind. Both ladies able to land a good percentage of their shot. Neither sloppy. Both crisp and accurate."

McCarthy: "And both very busy. Another thing you sometimes don't see a lot of at this weight. A lot of exchanges. A lot of work being done."

O'Dell: "Prepon again hooking body off her jab as the final seconds tick away. Leelee still focused upstairs, lands a good right at the bell. Good, close round, ladies..."

Tess: "But Laura's got her second straight. And has cut the lead to 38-37 through four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in what's been an action-heavy fight. The terms haven't changed from the last couple of rounds. Both ladies using the left jab to set up right hands. Showing good movement and hand speed."

Tess: "Plenty of boxing chops between these two..."

McCarthy: "And Prepon's showing she can box with Sobieski, who, again, is one of the better boxers in this division."

O'Dell: "Laura really zeroed in. Landing that left regularly. Sobieski responding with accurate shot of her own. Prepon continuing to work body with the right, while Leelee concentrates her efforts upstairs."

Tess: "You know, Prepon's still nowhere near old for this weight. She's holding her own against a Top Ten welter..."

McCarthy: "Good points, Walmart. If she keeps this up, she may well be help her stock here. Might get more fights out of it, anyway."

O'Dell: "Sharp exchange! And another! Both fighters landing clean stuff. Laura double-taps the jab, Leelee a good left hand. And there's the bell ending another good round!"

Tess: "And another close one, but, again, a win for Prepon. My card shows 47-47 at the halfway point."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth round begins the same way the fifth ended with a crisp exchange between the two big blondes. Prepon again going body with the right hook. Leelee firing back with a solid left hand."

McCarthy: "Laura's hand speed is impressive for a welter. She gets that left out quickly."

O'Dell: "And, again, she's finding the range with it. Sobieski working her own jackhammer left, doing a bit of body work herself now, but mainly head hunting."

McCarthy: "I continue to be impressed by Prepon. She's fighting very well tonight. Got to wonder what she could do with REAL management, which she's never HAD."

O'Dell: "Laura a good right hand. Leelee fires back with a left-right. Laura hooks the body...AND SOBIESKI DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "Nicely timed. Landed it flush."

O'Dell: "Laura shaking it off quickly. To her knees at four and up on her feet at five. She takes the mandatory, and the referee waives Sobieski forward. Leelee again patient. Back to the jab. Backing Laura up with it and HAMMERING home the right. Prepon retreating, countering, seems to have her legs back at the bell."

Tess: "Another big punch for Leelee. Laura was ahead in the round, and Sobieski stole it with that right hand, and she's right back ahead 57-55."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with the two blondes back to firing the big guns at range. Sobieski advancing a bit behind the jab, but Prepon is contesting every inch of canvas. Sobieski fighting her way forward...AND DOWN SHE GOES! LAURA WALKS HER INTO A LEFT HOOK AND LEELEE DROPS TO HER KNEES!"

Tess: "What a fight!"

O'Dell: "Sobieski now taking the count. Four. Five. Six. To her feet at seven. Referee gives her the mandatory and here comes LAURA..."

McCarthy: "Sensing victory now, she wants to put a stop to this!"

O'Dell: "Prepon quickly backing Leelee into the ropes, stacking her up, and hitting the 'punishment' button! Laura all in, hammering away, giving Sobieski a vicious thrashing as Leelee covers up and holds on."

Tess: "Laura's looking for a different button, Jenny, the one marked 'OFF'."

O'Dell: "And she's throwing every thing she has into the effort! Leelee hanging on, trying to clinch, legs still holding her up, but I'm not sure how!"

McCarthy: "Prepon slowing down, punching herself out..."

O'Dell: "And now Sobieski slapping back. Not much behind those punches but she's throwing them. Laura barely punching now, exhausted, as the bell finally rings!"

Tess: "And, despite that last flurry from Leelee, Laura's got a 10-8 round and has tied the fight again at 65!"

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "The eighth round begins and Sobieski again looking to work forward behind the jab. BANGING home that big left, forcing Laura back with it, and Prepon again making Leelee fight for every foot of canvas she gets."

McCarthy: "Leelee not at all chastened by that knockdown. She's working very aggressively this round."

O'Dell: "Laura willing to give ground, grudgingly. Still working the body with that right hook. Sobieski hasn't changed her head-hunting strategy, either. Good, crisp exchanges once again, but, slowly, Leelee is imposing her will, Mac."

McCarthy: "It's gritty, bitter stuff, but, she is. She's backing Prepon up, forcing her onto the defensive more and more as the round continues. Laura still scoring as well, but Leelee's taking charge."

O'Dell: "Sobieski PISTONING that left hand. Snapping it into the face of Prepon. Squaring her up with the right. Laura flurrying back in spots, but, at the bell, no doubt who got that one."

Tess: "And Leelee's back in the lead, 75-74."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth round starts with Sobieski again slowly turning up the heat. Laura still firing back, but still being forced backward by a determined Leelee."

McCarthy: "Sobieski dialing in with that left hand..."

O'Dell: "AND THERE'S THE RIGHT AND DOWN GOES LAURA!"

McCarthy: "Straight right that time. On the button!"

O'Dell: "Prepon flat on her back as the referee's count reaches three, four, five. Sits up at six. To her knees at seven. And she's on her feet at eight."

McCarthy: "No quit in this kid."

O'Dell: "Laura takes the mandatory, and Sobieski climbs aboard, going to work with both hands, rocking a wobbling Laura backward. Prepon covering up, backed into the ropes, and now it's Leelee applying the punishment."

Tess: "Sobieski working body for the first time all night, trying to bring down that high guard of Laura's."

O'Dell: "Prepon's legs holding steady despite the barrage of heavy leather being shipped her way. Referee watching closely, but Laura defending herself and doing enough offensively to keep him at bay to the bell. Another big round for Sobieski."

Tess: "85-82 now. Laura needs something huge in the last round, and she's looking a little shabby right now, Mac."

McCarthy: "Definitely, but a lot of welters would be in the locker room by now."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Tenth and final underway, and Sobieski back on the attack. Leelee working behind that big left hand again. Laura being backed up, moving the feet, trying to angle Sobieski, but Leelee matching and squaring Prepon up."

McCarthy: "Sobieski doesn't need a stoppage here, but she wants one. Fighting smart, not taking chances, but she's working for it."

O'Dell: "And Laura still game here in the tenth. Firing back in spots, not willing to go quietly."

McCarthy: "She's got plenty of compete, no doubt. Maybe, if Gena retires, I'll sign this kid! I can make her a champion and stick it to The Weirdo!"

Tess: "If, of course, you actually had the AUTHORITY to sign fighters..."

McCarthy: "I'M HEAD TRAINER at Sceej Boxing, Walmart! My authority is UNQUESTIONED!"

Tess: "Unlike your intelligence..."

McCarthy: "SHUT IT, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and drink in the the final seconds of what's been a great fight. Sobieski continuing to impose will, but Laura still stubbornly resisting, too tough for Leelee to finish. There's the bell and there's one of those hugs Mac loves so much..."

Tess: "Definitely mutual respect between the two."

O'Dell: "Decision being announced now, 95-91 on the cards, and the winner by UD10, 'The Polish Princess', Leelee Sobieski!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Leelee Sobieski, and Leelee, heck of a fight tonight..."

Leelee: "She's tough, Tess, and she's good, too. I knew that coming in. But, I'm better, and I knew THAT coming in, too. It wasn't easy, and I didn't expect it to be. But, I got the job done, and that's EXACTLY what I expected to do."
