BEFORE:
"I've been in the FCBA since I was 18," says a smiling Kirsten. "Thirteen years with no management. Scraping and scratching for work when girls with half the talent and a hundredth the Q score had people pounding the tables for them. Well, that's all changed now. And Lohan was just step one. I'm going to claim my rightful place in the FCBA. Over the bodies of all the girls who've had all the advantages all these years."
"Kirsten's flying high," says Amanda. "She beat Lindsay. She's got management. And she figures this is her last chance. She needs this fight. Well. There's not exactly a lot of job security in my division at Front Street. I need it as much as she does. And she's about to find out I'm not Lindsay."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside and..."
McCarthy: "What's THAT noise..."
O'Dell: "That would be 'The Girl Inside', sung by the lovely lady on her way to the ring, Rampant Boxing's Kirsten Dunst!"
McCarthy: "This is a girl who was a big deal five, ten years ago, but never made it in the FCBA. She's 31 now, and she's finally getting a chance. Might be too late, but give Rampant Boxing credit for taking a flyer on her. She's still got a big enough name to sell tickets, if nothing else."
Tess: "When is Sceej going to dive into the flyweight fray, Mac?"
McCarthy: "If and when I find the right prospect. All I need is a girl with some tools. I'll make her into a champion. UNlike Weirdo and his D-level training staff. If. Jamie Lynn Spears were at Sceej, she'd be Top Ten by now rather than developing TV shows for a network that seven people watch..."
Tess: "You DO know that Front Street TV has several shows that beat YOURS in the ratings..."
McCarthy: "Only because Weirdo is paying off Nielsen!"
O'Dell(sighing): "Dunst into the ring. Helped off with the robe by the Rampant corner to reveal a black bikini that shows off a body the audience clearly appreciates. And that's Tess' favorite song, 'Mama Mia', and that can mean one of two things, either ABBA has reunited or 'The Assassin' Amanda Seyfried, is on her way to the ring..."
Tess: "I like Amanda, as you know, but I've never been as glad to see her as I am right now..."
O'Dell: "Seyfried into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal a yellow number that shows off her curves pretty well. And we're about ready to go. Tess has picked Amanda. What do you think, Mac?"
McCarthy: "You've got a classic boxer vs. puncher fight here, but forget all that. Sometimes, the most desperate fighter wins. Dunst needs to parlay this Lohan win into something. I think she needs it more, and I favor her to win."
O'Dell: "There's the bell, and SEYFRIED RINGS DUNST UP! Short right hand and Kirsten is staggered in the first ten seconds..."
McCarthy: "Seyfried going all in for the quick stoppage! Not a bad idea..."
O'Dell: "Amanda hammering away! Dunst stumbling, retreating, tilting, in deep trouble! Seyfried backs her into the ropes...AND DUNST DROPS AMANDA WITH A SHORT LEFT HOOK!"
McCarthy: "That came out of nowhere!"
O'Dell: "Dunst not exactly looking steady on her way back to a neutral corner. Seyfried in a seated position. Referee's count at two, three, four, five. Amanda to her feet at six. Referee gives her the count, then waives Dunst forward. Kirsten now letting 'em fly, thinking the same thing Amanda was a few seconds ago...AND DOWN GOES SEYFRIED AGAIN!"
McCarthy: "Straight right hand. NICE punch!"
O'Dell: "Amanda on her back now. Rolls to her belly at three. Four. Five. Six. Pushes to her hands and knees. Seven. Eight. And up at nine. Referee looking closely as he gives the eight count again. Going to let it continue. And here comes Dunst. Kirsten winging away looking to put a stop to this in the first...AND SEYFRIED ROCKS DUNST WITH A SHORT UPPERCUT! Kirsten staggered and now Amanda's all in..."
McCarthy: "This is WILD..."
Tess: "And the fans LOVE it!"
O'Dell: "Amanda hammering away with both hands, ignoring the body, just pounding away at Dunst's high guard. Seyfried splits the gloves with a left! Dunst stumbling away and there's the bell! Three minutes with more action than a lot of entire fights have just come to an end..."
Tess: "How are you scoring that, Mac?"
McCarthy: "10-8 Dunst. I think those big shots from Seyfried were enough to keep it to two points despite the extra knockdown."
Tess: "And the strategies for this one are out the window. Both girls are hurt and staring!"
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Into the second and Dunst now using the jab. Seyfried a little ragged after that last round and Kirsten looking to consolidate. Dunst landing the left, following with rights, landing in combination."
McCarthy: "Seyfried forced to the defensive. Not able to get off. Kirsten scoring with both hands, pushing her advantage. Cold blooded stuff..."
O'Dell: "RIGHT HAND, DUNST! AMANDA'S ROCKED AGAIN. Seyfried covering up and KIRSTEN SPLITS THE GLOVES WITH A RIGHT! Seyfried wobbled and Kirsten going all in, hammering away with both hands. Amanda hurt and staggering...AND IT'S OVER! Referee has seen enough! And your winner by TKO2 is Kirsten Dunst!"
McCarthy: "GREAT fight for Dunst. Got pounced on early, rallied back, got hurt again and rallied back again. Had her girl in trouble and finished her. Great stuff!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"
Tess: "I've got our winner, Kirsten Dunst, who's on a bit of a roll these days!"
Kirsten: "Thanks, Tess. This was a big one for me. Lindsay, well, that was huge, but I had to show it wasn't just a fluke..."
Tess: "She had you in trouble tonight..."
Kirsten: "Yeah, but I wasn't letting her beat me. This was MY night and MY fight. I knew I was better than her, and I proved it!" |
