BEFORE:

"The truth is," says Denise with a devastating smile. "Neve could never quite measure up to me. Oh, she was in my LEAGUE, but I was always just a little more of everything, a little sexier, a little tougher, a little BETTER. And just because she finally matched me title for title and got in the Hall of Fame, that hasn't changed. I'm STILL better. Just watch and see."

"This fight is about one thing," says Neve, with no smile. "She's got a 2-1 career edge on me. That's going to change before this night is out. Count on it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Main event upcoming and the crowd popping as 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool blasts over the sound system, and here comes 'The Bodysnatcher', Hall of Famer Neve Campbell!"

Tess: "As Neve mentioned pre-fight, Richards leads the lifetime series 2-1, and, as a result, she's getting the honors tonight..."

McCarthy: "And she leads the lifetime disrobe about a million to one! Even at 41, Denise still has a rocking body!"

O'Dell: "Campbell into the ring, helped off with the robe by Jewel and Britney to reveal the black number she usually wears..."

McCarthy: "And a body only a mother could love..."

Tess: "One that's also unenhanced by silicone..."

McCarthy: "Walmart, I'm warning you...."

O'Dell: "And that's 'The World Is Not Enough' by Garbage, and here comes one of the stars of that film, and the current star of the ABC Family series 'Twisted', Denise Richards!"

Tess: "Richards representing Rampant Boxing, the FCBA's newest stable. Rampant 1-0 tonight with the big Kirsten Dunst win over Amanda Seyfried..."

McCarthy: "And they're about to be 2-0 when Richards beats that no-talent Campbell! And, by the way, IFFI STILL leads Front Street 7-4."

O'Dell: "Denise helped off with the robe by the Rampant corner to reveal a red number that has the crowd buzzing..."

McCarthy: "Like I said, at 41, she STILL has a great body..."

Tess: "Might be the best 40-plus body in the FCBA..."

McCarthy: "Only because I'm retired, Walmart. Only because I'm retired..."

O'Dell: "Ladies getting ready to go, and, again, we can dispense with the predictions, since Tess is on record as favoring Neve while Mac has just made it clear she's choosing Denise. And there's the bell. Campbell, of course, looking to pressure immediately, and she's not going to have trouble finding Denise."

McCarthy: "No, she won't. Richards fights a similar style, though she doesn't work body as much as Campbell..."

Tess: "Not sure anyone in the FCBA works body as much as Neve."

O'Dell: "And, on cue, that's where Campbell's concentrating, working those abs, lats, and ribs, as Denise fires back upstairs. Heavy leather being exchanged early...AND CAMPBELL HURT RICHARDS WITH THAT RIGHT HAND! Denise took a step back and the knees gave a shimmy. Campbell going to work now as Richards gives up the body with a high guard..."

Tess: "Like waiving a steak in front of a tiger..."

O'Dell: "Neve thumping the leather home downstairs, backing Richards up with a right to the head. Campbell forcing Denise back toward the ropes. Richards trying to hold canvas, but she can't. Neve lathering her up downstairs. Richards trying to tie Campbell up, but Neve shrugs her off and punches free."

McCarthy: "Richards trying to answer back some now..."

O'Dell: "But Campbell keeps the volume going, forcing Denise back to the defensive and scoring with a good right hand at the bell. Shutout first for Neve."

Tess: "She's up 10-9, but Denise stayed on her feet and only gave up a single point."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round underway between two veteran FCBA champions, and nothing fancy is going on. The ladies meeting in the middle of the ring and going at it..."

McCarthy: "There's NEVER anything fancy about Campbell. She fights like a Neanderthal..."

Tess: "It might not be pretty, but it put her in the Hall of Fame..."

McCarthy: "And I'm STILL trying to find out just who The Weirdo paid off to make THAT happen..."

O'Dell: "Denise with a good right...LEFT HOOK NEVE! CAMPBELL HURT RICHARDS AGAIN!"

Tess: "And right to work banging body."

O'Dell: "Neve backing Richards up again, slowly working her back to the ropes. Denise firing back more effectively this round, but it's still Neve getting the better of things..."

McCarthy: "Richards a little wobbly, but she's not allowing a jail break."

O'Dell: "She has, however, been backed into the ropes and Neve's taking full advantage to punish the body. Richards responding with some heavy leather of her own, but it's Campbell in control to the bell."

Tess: "And up 20-18 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins with a solid exchange. Both ladies landed a couple of good ones."

McCarthy: "Richards just needs to stay busy. She can beat Campbell. She just has to work."

O'Dell: "And she's certainly doing that now, all hooks and straight rights, going body a bit, but mainly working upstairs. Eschewing..."

McCarthy: "Bless you!"

O'Dell(sighing): "...the jab almost completely. Neve concentrating her work on the body. Very solid. Good footwork. Moving the head and hands well. Denise doing the same."

Tess: "As interesting as it can be to watch fighters of different styles, watching fighters like Denise and Neve, both veterans who fight the same way, women who've fought before, it's fascinating. All the little things going on. Dropping a shoulder to shove the opponent back just a bit to get room for a hook to the body, little pushes with the hand on the shoulder. All kinds of inside baseball going on right now."

O'Dell: "And both ladies very effective in this round. Both scoring well. But, as the final seconds tick away, I'd have to say it's Denise close."

McCarthy: "Agreed. Judges are going to like what she did upstairs more than Campbell's body work."

Tess: "Which makes it 29-28 through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round begins the way the third ended. Richards and Campbell, rivals going back more than a decade, having at it in the center of the canvas. Both getting work in. Neve, as usual, concentrating downstairs, while Denise mostly head hunts."

McCarthy: "Denise willing to stand toe-to-toe and bang with Neve. Not many fighters will do that. Of course, I wasn't afraid to..."

Tess: "And I seem to remember you being just about shut out in a title fight TRYING it..."

McCarthy: "Shut. It. Wal. Mart!"

O'Dell: "If anyone's still conscious in the audience, drink up. Neve a WICKED hook to the ribs right there, but Denise just grimaces and fires back..."

McCarthy: "Grimace was always my favorite McDonald's character. Him and Mayor McCheese..."

Tess: "And, anyone who laid money in Vegas that there'd be a Mayor McCheese reference on tonight's broadcast, go to the window!"

O'Dell: "Know where I'M going after the card? Right to the nearest BAR. Meanwhile, Denise and Neve still exchanging solid leather as the fourth fades into history. There's the bell. Another close one."

McCarthy: "Again, Denise's round. Got a little more done."

Tess: "Which makes it 38-38, but, as you always say, Mac,wouldn't count on those last two rounds, they were pretty close."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth of a scheduled ten underway, and the two veterans back to work. Campbell BANGS home a right hand. Backed Denise up with it. Neve with a couple of hooks to the ribs. Richards firing back, but Neve backs her up again with a solid left hand."

Tess: "Neve really going to work now. Both body and head. Denise being forced out of her positions."

O'Dell: "And Campbell wants to keep that rolling, slowly backing Denise up with heavy leather. Richards not hurt, has her legs and is working right to stay off the ropes, but Campbell not allowing her to hold canvas."

McCarthy: "Richards covering up and backing up too much. Needs to get off more."

O'Dell: "Neve not allowing it. Controlling Richards. Forcing her to give ground. Denise now digging body, and Neve responds in kind. Bitter, two-way thumping going on and Campbell getting the better of it to the bell."

Tess: "48-47 Campbell on my card."

McCarthy: "Same here. Anybody's fight after five."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with more slugging between Richards and Campbell. Neither woman getting the better of that exchange. Neve again working downstairs, thumping away at the body...Denise countering with a good right hook to the head."

McCarthy: "Richards busier this round. That's what she has to do. Show a little movement and let the hands go. She can't let Campbell take control like she did in the last round."

O'Dell: "Richards again stepping right, angling up, WHAM! banging a hook to the ribs. Neve with a right-left in combination to the head, then sinks a hook to the body. Denise counters with a flurry of her own. Good, solid, effective stuff from both fighters."

McCarthy: "This one may come down to who wears down first."

O'Dell: "And neither woman showing any signs of doing that at the moment. Both staying busy, banging away, each responding to the other's punches with more of her own. Tempo picking up as we near the end of the round, and it finishes with a sharp exchange and a quick staredown. Referee between the fighters, sends them back to their corners."

Tess: "Neve's round. Close. 58-56 through six. Lot of close rounds in there, though."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We've moved into the seventh round, and Campbell again pressing the action, again moving Denise off her spots, letting go with heavy shot, mostly to the body."

McCarthy: "Richards being forced to the defensive. She can't win this fight going backward. That's not the kind of fighter she is. She's got to get busy."

O'Dell: "Denise fighting almost completely in counter now. Campbell fighting lead, controlling the round...AND RICHARDS LANDS A SHORT HOOK AND NEVE'S BUZZED!"

McCarthy: "Perfectly timed. Caught Campbell flush!"

O'Dell: "And Denise going to work. Now it's Richards all in. Backing Neve up and letting the hands go. Campbell on the ropes, literally and figuratively as Richards goes all in for a stoppage. Campbell keeping the hands up, throwing the odd counter. Going to hang on and survive this one. But Richards in control at the bell, steals an important round late!"

Tess: "67-66, Neve with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth round underway and Denise right back to work, landing in combination and now backing Campbell up."

Tess: "Neve maybe not fully recovered from that hook in the last round."

McCarthy: "Or, maybe Denise is just wearing her down."

O'Dell: "One way or the other, Richards is taking the fight to Neve here in the eighth. Denise landing a good right hand, backing Campbell up again."

Tess: "This is the first two minutes of the last round in reverse. Denise now getting off and forcing Neve onto the defensive."

O'Dell: "And in bruising fashion, too. Richards able to land a lot of clean, heavy punches, both to the head and the body. Neve able to fire back in spots only..."

McCarthy: "And Denise putting the hammer down as we head down the stretch! Really putting it to Neve with a couple of nasty flurries."

O'Dell: "And there's the bell and another staredown. Two rounds to go and the cards look all even..."

Tess: "76-76, but with so many close rounds, if this goes to decision, anything could happen."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth round and Denise lands a good left hand. Neve responds with a right hook, and a nasty exchange results! Both ladies landing good stuff and neither taking a step back! And there we go again! Sweat flying, leather banging home. And the crowd loving it."

McCarthy: "Still anybody's fight and they both know it..."

O'Dell: "And they're going all in to grab it. Richards a good right hand that snapped back Neve's head. AND CAMPBELL DROPS HER WITH THE SHOVEL HOOK TO THE LIVER!"

McCarthy: "That punch should be BANNED!"

O'Dell: "I'm guessing you'd get Denise's vote for that motion right about now! Campbell in a neutral corner. Count at four. Five. Six. Seven. Denise up at eight. Takes the mandatory. Ref waives Neve forward and Campbell ROCKS Richards with a left-right. Denise stumbling back into the ropes and Neve hammering leather into the midsection, doubling Richards up. Denise clinching. Neve punches free and snaps her head back with a right. BURIES a hook in the abs, and snaps Denise's head back with an uppercut..."

Tess: "IT'S OVER! REFEREE'S STOPPING IT!"

O'Dell: "Ref in between the fighters, waiving Neve to her corner. And your winner by TKO9, 'The Body Snatcher', Neve Campbell!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Neve Campbell, and, Neve, it was a quite the battle in there..."

Neve: "Knew it would be. Denise is tough. Always has been. And she can still fight. But, she's never been as good, or as tough, as me. And that's what tonight was about. Me proving that. Not to myself, because I've always known it. But to Denise. And, now she knows it, too. So, it's all good."
