SIGLER/ DENNINGS Sigler was back in the ring after a five year absence. For the first three rounds, it looked like she had been fighting regularly. She built up a big early lead, taking the first three rounds as Dennings was a little sloppy, going for the big punch. Dennings finally got on the cards in the fourth. She landed the big punch and she floored Sigler in the fifth. It looked like Sigler hadn’t recovered as the sixth began. Dennings decked her again. Sigler got up, but Dennings pinned her against the ropes until the referee stopped the fight, I went into the ring to interview Dennings and the next thing i know, I am caught in a brawl between Dickinson and Dennings. Being about eight inches taller and 30 pounds heavier than either of the two, I was trying to separate them, when Jenny Mac came to my aid. She cut loose one right and Wilkinson probably got the best sleep she has ever had. No offense to any of the participants in this PPV, but that right was the best punch on the night. Way to go Mac.
CHURCH/ MACK As my broadcast partner, Jenny Mac pointed out prior to the bout, Church had never won a FCBA fight. She still hasn’t. Mack took the first round, but Church hurt her in the second and took the third for the lead. The lead was short lived as Mack floored Church in the fourth, hurt her in the fifth and floored her again in the sixth, this time for the full count.
PREPON/ SOBIESKI This was a great fight. Sobieski got off to a great start by putting Prepon on the canvas in the first and taking the second. Prepon, then, took the next three rounds to even the fight at the halfway point. Sobieski floored Prepon in the sixth and went down herself in the seventh. Sobieski took control of the bout in the eighth. She decked Prepon in the ninth and that was enough for the hard fought decision
DUNST/ SEYFRIED This fight lasted about four and a half minutes, but what fight it was. The first round is a candidate for the round of the year. Seyfried hurt Dunst in the first 10 seconds and then floored her. Dunst then came back and decked Seyfried not once. but twice. Seyfried responded hurting Dunst, but was unable to finish her by time the bell rang. In the second, Dunst racked up Seyfried with a couple rights and had her staggering around as she hammered away until the referee stopped the fight. A good win for Dunst. I mentioned Amanda’s movie career is in high gear. Wonder if she is hungry anymore. I know it’s just one loss, but I wonder
MORRISON/ SCHERZINGER This was the fight of the night. Scherzinger jumped out in front in the first round when she floored Morrison to get a 10-8 round. Morrison labored for the next four rounds with success, evening the fight at the end of five. It was even at the end of seven. In the ninth Morrison put Scherzinger on the canvas to take a one point lead. In the tenth, Nicole came back to hurt Jennifer a couple times to take the round and even the fight once again. They went into extra rounds. Scherzinger had a big eleventh hurting Morrison constantly. Nicole hurt Morrison again in the twelfth and then stayed away to play it safe and won the round and the decision
RICHARDS/ CAMPBELL Two multiple time champion veterans put on a good show. Campbell quickly took the lead taking the first two rounds, hurting Richards in the second. Richards took rounds three and four to even the fight. Campbell had the lead again at the end of six, but Richards came back to even the fight at the end of eight. In the ninth, Campbell landed a shovel hook to the liver that dropped Richards for the mandatory eight count. Richards, however, was unable to keep Campbell at a distance, and Campbell lathered away with rights and lefts to the body and head until Richards was defenseless and the fight was stopped. |
