BEFORE: "Jenny's fights with Lopez and Zeta Jones weren't competitions," DaniRu smirks in prefight, "they were coronations. Not saying the kid doesn't have sock - she does - but we haven't really seen her impress against the best prime fighters in the business. She comes wading in big-girl on me, she's gonna get busted up. I'm no Zeta Jones, baby: I'm a girl puts hurt on other girls, and Jennifer's just going to have to take her share of punishment this time!"

Lawrence moving from "Hollywood Pantheon" type fights to a real credibility-build type opponent in Ruah...can Jen handle the new math involved? "I realize that Daniela does things in the ring that women like Lopez or Zeta Jones can't," Jennifer allows, "but obviously, so can I. It's an interesting style contrast for sure...she's very long-limbed and rangy - kind of a Pallicki-class fighter...it'll be a challenge getting inside to do work on her. Girl doesn't look built to absorb damage though, does she? She's got long, lean puncher's lines, but what happens when I trap her in my kitchen and start bringing the pain? One thing the older woman proved is that they can hang in there...we don't know if Ruah can take that kind of work. We'll find out."

During R1: Brisk round - both girls working hard to negotiate conditions. Daniela pumping stick - left hand stiffly at Jen's pate and face. Ruah's sleek, trim legs propelling her in rapid clockwise rotations - Daniela in wide stance, trying to fight off her front (left) leg when possible. Jen bobbing energetically - issuing stubby-jabs on approach - whacking Ruah's ribcage right/left whenever in range. DaniRu's legs the difference-makers down the stretch...she maintains distance; marks Jen via the jab; shows a wide, sweeping, slow left hook to set up a short, pulverizing right - keeping Lawrence covered up to bell.

R2: Shutout DaniRu - Jen unhurt, but getting a good dose of rangy brunette class this round. To the variety of punches up top, Ruah's adding a succulent, snapping left uppercut underneath - getting it off her front (left) plant-leg, popping hips-right and really whipping mitt to gut while Jen's crouching in earmuff. Lawrence grimly trudging forward, but leggy Daniela loping around blonde right flank, keeping blonde-bully honest with that stiff, chiseling jab. Bell: cocky smile from Ruah to her corner as she struts back to port; Lawrence frowning, processing the data through 2.

R3: Daniela looking for the wide sweep-hook/short right hand combo, but Lawrence interrupts, getting in between with a swinging overhand right behind left ear that has Ruah staggering early. Jen able to compress Daniela ragdoll to ropes and beat those ribs...Ruah clinches open-mouthed/wincing-eyed for ref's break. From that point, Daniela's on the run - leggy brunette running the aprons, changing direction - anything she can do to shake pursuit. Lawrence grimly walking Ruah down with dukes-at-mouth look - stepping in with jabs to chest, overhand rights and scouring work to ribs in spots.

R4: Daniela walking Jen into a left uppercut early, putting a hint of caution into Lawrence's steamrolling pursuit: Jen made wary perhaps, but undaunted as she continues to press. Ruah reluctant to engage - often hopping away in wide-ranging circles with hands high/palms out. Jen all jugs a-jumpin' in pursuit, trying to run her gazelle to ground, but Ruah elusive - and dangerous in spots - Daniela attempting to potshot Jen coming in whenever possible. Lawrence the aggressor, taking points but not imposing will as Ruah stabilizes her front.

R5: Hard-fought negotiations as Daniela wants more control midring - showing the heart to stand and trade in spots. Jennifer no-nonsense in these exchanges - dukes at mouth as she bobs on the spot, bashing back with either hand in wide, clobbering arcs...leads to spanking trade with Ruah working up the middle/Jen swinging free. Jen able to close and wallop Ruah's jugs in close...Daniela finally forced to ropes, trying up aghast as Jen makes Ruah take weight at bell.

R6: Left uppercut scores for Ruah early as Jen wades in: Lawrence FINALLY put wobbly-butt, made to step back in confusion as Daniela gets respect. Ruah widens stance - back (right) heel up off canvas...she's fighting in orderly forward-aspect, really picking Jennifer apart this round. Lawrence out on the end of poke - alternating between crossed-arm and earmuff fronts, bobbing on the spot as Daniela's stiff left hands scrape and spank. Slinging right crosses from Daniela set up vindictive left uppercuts - Ruah DIGGING the left hand up under breasts, wicking away at the strength in Jen's legs. Lawrence unable to come forward - busting up under Ruah's insistent touch; mouthbreathing from the bodywork...Daniela all blazing eyes, hot-temper at bell, looking Jen over like a vixen wanting to finish.

R7: Hard fighting - much of it toe to toe - advantage see-sawing back and forth between combatants. Jen establishing a measure of dominance inside - punishing breadbasket, breasts, head and shoulders with indiscriminate violence until Ruah can push or pivot off. Daniela featuring the left uppercut to devastating effect - catching Jen to chin on the way in; ripping Jen to the body whenever Lawrence is stooping forward behind her mitts. Lawrence blocking that sleek right cross fairly well, but committing to do so exposing her to Dani's educated left...Ruah able to hammer out a thin margin of supremacy in the closest round of the fight.

R8: Similar stuff - Lawrence too strong to hold off indefinitely, but she's paying a steep price getting in. Ruah's left uppercut money-in-the-bank; Ruah's jab busting Jen's face up, slowing her approach; Ruah's short, drifting right hand often catching Jen on the left eye just as Lawrence is getting into position. Jen banging back in anger when she can - beating that slender waist; clobbering those bulging jugs, but more and more it's Ruah with the edge.

R9: Same again - Lawrence boring-in, getting to Ruah's chest, bludgeoning her in spots, but Daniela staying off the ropes, pivoting while pushing off - her legs constantly resetting distance on Jen. Lawrence battered on the way in - Jen crossing her arms with elbows up, back of right hand at left cheek, left hand tucked into right armpit...she's pushing forward into the gale-force winds of Daniela's punching. Ruah licking GORGEOUS strokes to ribs and waist - that left hand just a whip-snatching wonder, often doubling up to beat the breath from Jennifer, momentarily sending tremors through her thighs. Daniela covering up, getting buffetted about head-and-shoulders when Jen's inside, but Lawrence's squalls pass quickly - Ruah gradually extending her control through 9.

R10: Daniela pumping one-twos: Jen punches-with, interrupting the sequence with a sweeping overhand right...DOWN GOES RUAH! DaniRu bludgeoned to mat a minute in...she's up all blinking-eyes, trembling legs - Jen pacing neutral corner with tiger-eyes until ref waves her in. Lawrence hurtling into Daniela, tackling the breath from sleek brunette, taking the time to ragdoll her against ropes, then OH, the bombardment! Top of Jen's head butting Daniela's breasts - crossed forearms against Dani's belly pushing her buns into ropes, then the punches flow. Lefts and rights beating hips, thighs, waist and ribs. Ruah gurgling in pain, trying to reach underneath to tie up, but Jen wrestling-with, bodying Dani into ropes, smothering her, pushing off, then continuing the abuse. Dani sliding to her right along ropes, but Jen shoots in - head in under Dani's left arm while arms ropes around Ruah's waist, making sure she can't escape. Glorious shove-and-slug from Jen Lawrence reminiscent of a taller, stronger Dani Fishel in her prime...she's just at Ruah and on her at all times, pouring on the hurt. Ruah shabby, windblown, tying up limp around elbows or head, but unable to stem the tide...Jen just too brawny and insistent. Down the stretch, methodical, rhythmic shoving sets up short, blunt lefts and rights across Ruah's chin...she's out on her feet, arms flapping across Jen's back as Lawrence slams away and DANIELA'S DOWN! DaniRu just wilting to canvas - battered limp by Jen's sledgehammer fists. Lawrence all chest-heaving, hands on hips as she walks away...IT'S OVER! Ruah asleep on her tummy, all used up - KO10 in the last minute, Jennifer Lawrence!

AFTER: Jen badly busted up, but jubilant: she turns back a highly skilled, well conditioned, very dangerous young fighter tonight - coming from behind on the cards to fashion a dramatic stoppage victory. "It feels great," Jen admits in postfight. "A very tough slog to get through her work, I mean - girl was touchin' me, no doubt about it. She hit me a real good shot in like the fifth or sixth round, and I thought: 'whoa'...I knew I didn't want to get tagged like that too often. I smothered her pretty good - I know the judges were liking her, but I felt like I WAS getting to her...I'm just glad her legs gave way when they did, 'cause I was running out of clock!"
