Reebok Lightweight Title


Before: Fight gets made after innocent comments by Charlize on Late Night suggest Severance should join the seniors� tour. Joan hurt by the suggestion, bitter about her career in general, and open about her feeling that Theron has the career she, Joan, should have had. Charlize taking the tight because she can't ignore Joan's public challenge, but it's a crusade for Severance, possibly making her the more motivated boxer this evening. White sportsbra, teal aerobics bottoms for Charlize, black sports bra, red aerobics bottoms for Joan.

During R1: Joan's obviously studied her girl, and launches an opening overhand right to bash Theron's head around in the opening seconds to leave Charlize wide eyed at the get go. Severance stepping with Charlize, hammers the blonde to the ropes with straight right hands, and doesn't stop there. As Theron goes wobbly butt hands low, Joan measures her with lefts, then bends into vicious right crosses on the face that send Theron's head snapping hard over the top rope, then slowly back into position for more abuse. Theron soaking it up, starts to counter midway through the round, and as Joan gets wide, she starts to pay. Theron regrouping, nails a short left hook inside Severance right hand, and Joan goes wobbly butt, stumbling forward, open mouthed into Charlize' arms. Theron cinches up and muscles the brunette into the ropes, and the beating is ON as Theron rips a gouging left hook into the midriff, chopping at Severance' cheek with the short right hand as Joan begins to swoon. Final minute sees Joan desperately clinch and the girls tumble along the ropes to the comer - Joan on top. Severance finishing strong, finally batters Charlize into a defensive shell as she pushes in with her left shoulder, then pounds right hands to the blonde's gut at the bell. Joan continues punching after the bell, prompting the ref to jump in as Charlize looks disoriented, punchy.

R2: Charlize shakes it off, and comes out looking sharp. Center ring - Joan crouches behind her guard and Charlize snaps an innocent looking left uppercut between the mitts that nevertheless has Severance hurt. Charlize doubles and triples up on the uppercut, hammering away at Joan's guard until she breaks it down, and the brunette topples backward with a saddened expression. Theron on like a freight train, walks Joan down at the ropes and goes to the brunette's gut with a thumping 5 punch combination of lefts and rights, folding Joan over in pain. Charlize with her feet wide, straightens the brunette with the uppercut, and has Severance lolling, out on her feet as the beat down progresses. Charlize taking her time, crumples Severance with wide lefts and rights to the body, then pushes the brunette back to crack hard right hands across the brunette's mouth to leave Severance swooning. On and on the beating goes, with Severance soaking it up, butt on the ropes, hands at her waist, face getting battered beyond recognition. Theron patient, never wild, beats and beats and beats her opponent until the bell sounds - Charlize pulls the right hand that was headed to Joan's staring, . Severance in tragic shape is helped to her corner.

R3: Charlize Theron out with predatory efficiency, has Joan reeling and off balance with the jab alone. Going to the stomach with those banging lefts and rights, Charlize buckles Joan's legs, bodies up on the brunette and walks her to the ropes. Job of work for Charlize as she bulls Severance back with one shiny shoulder, then digs a harsh one-two to Joan's queasy gut, folding the brunette up again. Working side to side, Charlize rips left and rights uppercuts into Joan's overhanging face and chest, and the brunette spills back against the ropes, blood trickling from broken lips as she slides to the corner. Charlize stepping with Joan, pours it on in the final minute, standing right in front of the brunette, propping her up, then powering in short right hands on the jaw, curling left hands to Joan's chest as the brunette sways drunkenly. Charlize' fists beat Joan raw once again this round, and the bell sounds with Severance tottering out of her corner to cling on Charlize with shot legs. Theron shrugs her off and Severance is led once again to her corner. Joan blubbering, can't move her legs or limbs and the tight is stopped with Severance unable to answer the bell. After: Absolute destruction of a once great fighter adds credence to Theron's claims. "I'm surprised she came out slugging," says Theron, "She could have dragged things out because I know she's a good boxer, but she wanted to see what she had left, and I respect that. I'm sorry it fell to me to put the mare out of her misery, but that's the way it goes I guess." Severance once again stung by Theron's well meant comments, has no intention of retiring, and vows to get the blonde in trouble one of these days.
