Bridges/Carpenter III

Before: Both girls can get certain things done against each other - somebody just has to put her foot on somebody's throat and prove superior. Girls are confident in pre-fight, but there's a lot of pressure - loser faces some ego damage after back to back to back meetings. Angelica in lime spaghetti strap sports bra, yellow high cut aerobics trunks, Charisma in black sports bra, red high cut aerobics trunks.

R1: Brisk pace early as Angelica looks to work off the jab and keep it outside, Charisma trying to come inside and make the red head slug. Down the stretch, Bridges' legs win out - she circles left, doubling up on the jab to keep Carpenter out and scoop points.
R2: Bridges consolidates, laying on the jab to Charisma's bra and face, hooking off the jab and finally putting together banging 3 punch combinations that have Charisma covering up. Angie circling midring, letting her hands go - Carpenter looking defensive takes a lot of leather this round.

R3: Another Bridge's round as she continues to break her brunette down with the jab, snapping off right hands as Carpenter's guard grows sloppy and finishing up with the left hook whenever possible. Bridges leading confidently, constantly backing Carpenter up - Charisma just not comfortable fighting backwards, doing a lot of arm punching when she punches at all.

R4: Carpenter adjusts, walking through Angelica's jab, getting inside behind a looping left hook to Bridge's ear, then stepping to the left while swatting sidearm rights at Anjie's flat midriff. Bridges turning, not punching when she moves her feet, and Charisma works the angle well, using her left to pull the red head's head down, the right to work her girl's stomach. Carpenter in a shutout.

R5: Good two way action round as both girls commit to hammering combinations center ring. Carpenter starting to well up around the eyes, and Bridges wincing from attention to her ribs. Down the stretch it's all Carpenter, walking her girl to the ropes, getting her head under Angie's chin and pounding away to the belly with pump action punching from both fists.

R6: Another brutal round of give and take - both girls driven to the ropes, fighting their way off as the brawl takes in all four corners. Once again it's Charisma with a gutty finish, bodying her girl to the perimeter, putting her punches together at Angie's waistline to shut the red head down. Bridges not punching on the inside, starting to look weak as she sags on the ropes, taking to the body whenever Carpenter can fight off her chest.

R7: Bridges rediscovering the dormant uppercut, repeatedly bangs Carpenter's head up off the redhead's shoulder as the girls fight in close. As the round wears on, Carpenter begins to wilt, laying in with Bridges but its Angie getting off with the right mitt in tight. CC woozy at the bell as Angelica finds an answer to the brunette's persistent body attack.

R8; Angelica back in charge, unafraid to fight shoulder to shoulder and routinely straightening Charisma up with that curling right uppercut. Anjie keeps the punch short, using it only when Carpenter tries to lean in, and snapping the punch back to her chest on follow through. In the final minute, Angie has some shining moments, popping CC's head up with the uppercut then turning it to the side with the whip action hook. Carpenter looking glassy eyed, takes some stern stuff this round, looks a little shopworn going to her corner.

R9: Carpenter has to make a move and comes out to slug, but Bridges is ready. Feet wide apart, the girls stand and trade - Bridges moving her head more as she throws and in the blistering early action she bounces a left off Charisma's face, then a right to send the brunette wobbling to one knee. CC deeply disappointed in herself, takes the 8, and gives it up to Bridges the rest of the way as the red head steps into vicious hooks and crosses. At the bell, Charisma sports a small cut over her left eye courtesy those biting combinations, and Bridges feels it: she's one round away from putting the brunette in second place.

R10: Carpenter comes out like a warrior, driving Angie back into her own corner with pulverizing lefts and rights up the gut. Bridges slugs back, bouncing off her corner ropes, working side to side to clip Carpenter's chin with short blows from either hand, but the brunette won't be denied. Palming up and shoving Angie to the turnbuckles by her biceps, Carpenter keeps up the pressure, slapping at redhead midsection with flashy lefts and rights, but Bridges is taking it well. At the bell, Angie thrusts her fists skyward as Carpenter looks uncertain. The judges come back with a harsh verdict - Bridges by unanimous decision.

After: Far from grudging respect for an opponent that fought her tooth and nail in 3 distance wars - Angelica walks after and taunts her distraught foe to the point of tears - Charisma unable to accept the verdict. For Bridges, as much relief as celebration as she finally separates herself from a girl she has come to hate. For Charisma, another miserable loss, maybe more painful than any other in her star crossed, troubled career.
