Before: Two very skilled boxer/punchers with nice records risk a lot in facing each other. Langton toiling in obscurity since “Melrose Place” has knocked on the door of superstardom before, Hess a substantial talent honed in the WB mills to a very effective edge—it’s a pick’em bout between unheralded gunslingers. Hess in yellow bikini, Brooke in black and white spaghetti strap sports bra, black bikini bottoms, tight ponytail.

During R1: Hess out very quickly, surprising Brooke with handspeed, and finding the brunette’s face with thudding jabs, slashing power from either hand. Brooke disorganized, falls back with hands down and midway through gets jacked with a shirt right hand lead on the teeth that nearly sits her down. Hess finishing up on her girl’s ribs, shoeshining her fists across Brooke’s body as the brunette sits in the ropes at the bell.

R2: Much closer round, girls circling at midring, making slashing forays at one another behind slick jabs—Both adept at blocking or moving her head to avoid punishment in nip and tick action. Sandra a little more aggressive late, Brooke retreating, looks less anxious to mix it up.

R3: Sandra with more pressure, hems Brooke in her corner and comes forward behind dizzying combinations. Langston’s  defense swamped—she starts to give it up as Hess turns into spanking hooks to the ribs that shirt right hand against Brooke’s face. Midway through the round a short left right inside, all shoulder from Sandra, has Langston wobbly butt, hanging on, Hess finishing the round strong again as she digs to the waist—Langton doubled over her kegs soaking it up and dropping the first 3 to the determined blonde.

R4: Sandra hunting brunette, stalking and spitting out jabs—Langston retreating. Midway through the round, trap is set. Hess walks in and Brooke times her for a sneaky right hand over the jab—HESS GOES DOWN! Sandra woozy, and Brooke takes over. Now it’s the brunette squaring up, raking her fists over the blonde’s ribs, jerking the little uppercut into the breasts or teeth as Hess crumples forward. Langton spilling Hess to the ropes, has the blonde floundering at the bell and swats a left across those breasts late as Sandra takes without response.

R5: Langton coming on strong, now outjabbing Sandra, backing Hess up, and coming in with Morales-styles straight rushes up the middle, Sandra goes to the ropes, elbows in, trying to slip and roll and maybe time for Brooke to do something,  Shoulder to shoulder in the corner, girls dig into one another in bitter trade—no backswing on the punches—all leg and body. Hess comes away cut in the mouth as Langton gets the better of her.

R6: Sandra Hess comes out rejuvenated, reclaims air superiority by doubling up on the jab, and slings right hands to the breasts and face to force Langston into wide-eyed retreat, Brooke breaking down as Hess turns into a series of hacking right hands on the jaw, and the brunette nearly goes down, but clinches to steady herself, Hess palming up, fights her way through Brooke’s limbs and rips short strokes to the midsection—Langton cringing, legs  quivering as she folds to the ropes, Bitter trade late and Langton sweeps side to side, dragging desperate punches into Sandra to avoid the shutout—both girls breathing hard and looking worn at the bell.

R7: Sandra marching in behind the determined jab, stuns Brooke and rocks her heads back with the left, steps in with her shoulder to nudge Langton off balance and slings the right over the top as the brunette retreats. Jess just too quick, combinations too precise, chops up her foe this round as Langton is forced to the perimeter of the ring. Late in the round, Langton stands her ground and the girls begin a ferocious trade at close quarters, AND HESS GETS HURT! Hess getting stung as both girls fire short right. Langton following up with a left hook on the chin, then another, then ANOTHER as Sandra wobbles limply to the ropes. Hess out on her feet, eyes vacant, hands down and Langton pours it on, twisting her wiry frame into slashing lefts and  rights to bash Sandra’s face into blank acceptance THE REF STEPS IN! Brooke staggers back on the verge of exhaustion as Hess slumps in the referee’s arms. TKO7 Brooke Langton.

After: Great little fight—both girls testing the other until Langton emerges. Hess giving it her all, but throwing the dice with hectic exchanges late in the fight, let Langton off the hook. Brooke coming from behind to win—she has to be considered one of the best brunette bantams/junior bantams out there.
