The opening fight of the Summer Grudge Sessions features a couple of blonde singers who have some issues with each other. Sandy Moelling stopped Mollie King's bandmate Vanessa White last year, something that didn't go too well with The Saturdays camp. Now Mollie wants to set the record straight and make Sandy pay for that clash with White. However the German blonde looks to return to winning ways after a bad loss to Havana Brown and promises to repeat Mikie Hara's performance who simply destroyed King back in March. Is she as good as the Japanese firecracker though? There are some doubts among the Cardiff audience in that regard. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls come storming out of the blocks and try to dish out as much early punishment as possible but it's Sandy who scores the first big blows as she snaps Mollie's head back, avoids couple of vicious hooks and lands a nasty one on the eye herself, switches low and peppers the ribcage forcing the English blonde to retreat. But Sandy prevents her from escaping alltogether and continues to rain punches in mid-range, clips Mollie's chest and skims off the jaw as she whips a series of uppercuts to see King reeling back to the ropes for good but then clinch herself out of trouble with Moelling too excited over the early prospects. Mollie lands some shots on the ribs and manages to push the German away, then tags her chin on the counter to halt her charge and see out the round.

Round 2:
Both girls tangle in the middle of the ring again with Sandy slamming leather into Mollie's midriff and bending her forward, quick left uppercut on the jaw follows AND ROCKS KING... English blonde stumbles to the side, becomes easy prey to a left/right combo on the mouth AND FALLS FLAT ON HER BACK moments later... Couple of really precise shots send the younger singer into trouble but King's up on her feet at five and throwing death stares at her rival. She leaps after Moelling but eats another jabbing series on the chest and covers up as Sandy seeks more facial damage, spikes over the top, works the single hand and bashes Mollie to the ropes but can't break through the guard anymore and is forced to pound away at the ribcage, bounces off the elbows all too often to cause any further damage and King manages to survive the round albeit being pummelled around in the proccess.

Round 3:
Despite the knockdown Mollie squares up to her German foe and peppers the ribcage before a swift left hook nails her on the eye and reels back on the spot. Moelling's after her and jabs to the body, tries to trap King along the ropes again but fails to break the high guard and reverts into midsection attacks, has Mollie weaving and turning around in avoidance but escaping really hard leather. Still, Moelling pushes her around the ring, works the high-tempo jabbing and lands occassional one-off shots on the money, prevents King from any response as the younger blonde's punches are far too rare and cause little pain to the rampant German who finally manages to catch her foe on the chest in the final minute and pin to the turnbuckles. Mollie eats couple of shots on the ribcage, leans on Sandy but misses a jabbing combo to the temple and gets whacked on the jaw with a vicious uppercut just before the bell and sinks on her knees only the clock to save her from another potential knockdown.

Round 4:
Moelling looks to continue her juggenaut but King hangs back in mid-range, uses some nifty footwork to stay away from trouble. She doesn't look so upset and threatening at this stage of the fight with Sandy slowly losing her temper and teasing the younger singer into more aggressive display. Not gonna happen though and the German is forced into some big leaps around the ring as Mollie just avoids action and incurrs the wrath of the Cardiff crowd who begin to whistle her performance as Sandy finally catches her on the ribs late in the round, clips the jaw with a left hook but fails to inflict more damage and King spikes her on the eye with a seemingly wayward punch right before the bell but the jeering doesn't stop after that as Mollie adjusts her hair during the interval and looks to ignore the negative reaction alltogether.

Round 5:
Mollie still hangs back, refuses to engage in any sort of action for a while, has Sandy lashing out at her and finally the English blonde loses her footing and gives Sandy a chance to rip into her guts. Jabbing combo catches Mollie on the ribs and bends forward in the middle of the ring as the older blonde strikes over the top and slams into King's temple, grazes the eye before she can cover up but the onslaught just keeps on coming as Moelling moans in exhaustion, reverts into midriff pounding and shoves her foe butt-in-ropes. Mollie soaks up punishment, weaves low on her knees and tries to respond with a ribcage attack herself, manages to duck under some hooks and slams a left hook on the liver, causes Sandy to wince in pain and unleashes an uppercut to the jaw that nails her on the spot and staggers by the ropes. Mollie leans on the German, keeps throwing leather around the elbows as Moelling tries to recover from that uppercut, bashes away at the chest but can't break through the arms and eats another left hook on the temple, stumbles back and allows King to escape with the bell halting the slugfest moments later.

Round 6:
Sandy's after her rival again but Mollie drops her defensive approach and squares up to her as well. She ducks under some menacing hooks and spikes the liver area again, causes more yelps of pain from the German's throat and slams a series on the ribcage in the middle of the ring as Sandy suddenly loses her freshness, allows Mollie to land overhand leather on the mouth and reels her back to the ropes. However King can't trap her foe there, misses a left hook and has to defend from the side counter as Sandy goes for the facial attack, skims off the nose with a right hook, gets spiked on the ribcage again and both girls tangle in the middle of the ring but a lenghty clinch ensues thereafter and ref has to separate them before Mollie whacks Sandy on the chest with a slightly quicker series, has the German covering and circling back to the ropes and late in the round it's the older blonde seeking respite; she's got enough left to avoid more trouble from the English girl but Mollie's got the spark back in her eye despite being way behind on the cards.

Round 7:
Sandy's never been past the sixth round in her BBU career, a sharp contrast to Mollie who fought the distance three times already and the fatigue starts to creep in the German's performance as she's visibly slower on her feet than King who begins to hassle around instead. She clips Moelling's chin early in the round and snaps her head back, follows up with a chest barrage and slices through the arms; has the older girl seeking clinch but a quick right on the ribs and a left around the liver area staggers Sandy on soft looking knees, a desperate jump to restore authority is too slow and predictable as she misses a left hook on the head and eats a left hand on the jaw follows by a right on the temple.. MOELLING'S ROCKED as she stumbles forward, tries to prevent from going down but Mollie whacks her on the top of her head as the German was going down anyway after all... MOELLING'S DOWN ON ALL FOURS... curses in her native language but is up at four, very quick indeed, indicates she tripped over her own feet but King knows better and so does the Cardiff audience. No jeering at the English blonde anymore as she rips into Moelling's guts, shoves her towards the ropes and looks for terminal damage but the clock is against her and Mollie looks upset as the ref drags her away with Sandy walking slowly to her corner, slightly worried but still in one piece and sporting little physical damage albeit breathing heavily inside that white outfit.

Round 8:
Mollie wants to punish her aching foe but might still require a knockout after that terrible start; she keeps jabbing at the German's midsection, easily beats her for pace across the ring and simply lays into her guts in the opening minute; Sandy in survival mode, just looks to hang on and avoid another knockdown but when Mollie switches high and starts tearing into her cheeks, it looks bleak and the older blonde wobbles heavily on the verge of going down again. But the red mist mode backfires on King who drops the tempo thereafter, still maintains clear advantage and secures a comfortable round but falls into Moelling's clinch, can't make the most of that huge seventh rounds and reverts into pounding away at the midriff, sinks Sandy further down on her knees but allows her to survive the round but now the German singer really looks tired as her face is reddened with exhaustion while Mollie closes her eyes and focuses ahead of the final two rounds.

Round 9:
King on the move as expected, clips Moelling's chin with a solid left hook and follows up with a right to the chest, reels the German back but catches her with another jabbing barrage on the body, uppercuts the rack and has her moaning in pain. Mollie strikes over the top, bangs a left/right combo on the head, causes Sandy's arms to drop and slams her on the nose with a right jab. Moelling just falls on the ropes as blood starts to come out from her nostrils and this only spurs the English blonde into more facial attacks. She rips into Sandy's guard, shatters it apart and gives Moelling more blood as both nostrils are busted up now and the ref looks on with Mollie savagely beating the crap out of her aching foe along the ropes. Moelling covers up her messed up face but just soaks up punishment, unable to escape and the moaning is hard to take even for the biggest fans in the audience; Mollie barks in anger, looks to send the German down for the count as the ref refuses to stop the onslaught but to no avail and she gasses out in the final minute, leans on her foe who now has blood coming all the way down her face but the grudge contest will go to the final three minutes as King doesn't have anything in the tank either as both girls remain locked in the clinch at the bell.

Round 10:
Sandy's nose has been patched up and she moves from her stool for one last time on wobbly legs but Mollie's chest almost pumps up and down and the younger blonde can't land any heavy leather herself, works the single hand from mid-range before spiking Sandy on the mouth, just misses the nose and more blood but then eats an overhand left on eye, a last resort effort from the German brings her success as Mollie's head snaps back and Moelling follows up on the chest, bashes King on the breasts and the younger blonde is forced to clinch. A real struggle in the ring now with both girls out on their feet but still looking for a late KO; Sandy whips more jabs on the ribcage and forces her rival back; she doesn't have anything left to give and just waits for Mollie to come after her but the English singer refuses and hangs back, lets the clock expire and allthough both proud warriors raise their arms at the bell, there can only be oner winner. Sandy thinks she's done enough not to lose the last round and possibly, possibly salvage the win and indeed it's King who looks more anxious of the two as the verdict is announced...

After ten rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards... Judges score the bout 95-95, 96-94 for Mollie King and 94-94... The fight has been declared a majority draw!!!

Nobody expected this verdict and both camps look shell-shocked at the draw being announced. Neither singer wants to celebrate and in fact King turns from worried to upset on the spot while Moelling ponders her option upon seeing her rival approaching and making obscene gestures, "I'm not done with you yet! No way some German bimbo fails to recognize the power of the Saturdays!"

Suddenly Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman appear from the crowd and head straight towards the ring, step alongside Mollie and demand real justice with more loud shouting and gestures. Sandy's nose doesn't look all that ready to take more punishment if possible but the German turns violent when seeing White and floors her with a left hook that finally settles the manner. While Rochelle picks Vanessa from her knees, Mollie must be dragged away by the ref and this one isn't over just yet! Overtime on demand and Sandy just shakes her head and curses in her native language but the Cardiff crowd really wants to see a winner too!

Round 11:
Mollie's all over the older blonde within seconds, finding a higher gear despite badly gassing out towards the end of regular time but Sandy acts likewise and it's really getting personal now with both girls throwing chaotic leather at each other, missing a ton and just grazing the flesh but neither wants to yield possession and the trade-off quickly turns into a head-snapping affair with neither vixen caring much about the defence. Mindless slapping in the middle of the ring continues in the second minute before Sandy whacks Mollie on the chin and staggers her, follows up on the chest and pushes towards the ropes, keeps firing away at the midriff. King takes a sudden abuse but whips a right cross on the nose looking to inflict the old wound; Sandy's all busted up but refuses to let go of the midsection barrage and makes the younger blonde moan in pain before another lurid cross from King bursts her nose soaking red again and it's getting ugly in the final seconds with Mollie snapping the German's head side to side, even after the bell and the ref has his hands full again, embraces the stricken Sandy to safety. King thinks she's won it but she just didn't hear the bell and can't hide her anger anymore, gestures at the ringside officials, all to no avail.

Round 12:
Another quick jump from the English blonde who just targets the German's nose, looks for more facial damage if possible and whacks Sandy with a big uppercut on the jaw, beats her for pace and jabs to the cheeks, slices the guard and snaps the head back as Moelling gets caught out in mid-range, tries to escape but loses her footing and gets nailed on the chest too. She bends forward and Mollie whips a cross-hook on the nose, follows up with a shot on the temple and Sandy's all on soft knees now, taking few clean punches and struggling to tame the onslaught. Mollie's face is red with exhaustion but the Saturdays' pride is on the line and she slams another series on the head, shatters Moelling's mitts and makes her almost scream in pain, silences her with a left uppercut on the jaw though... AND DOWN GOES MOELLING ON ALL FOURS... unable to stay on her feet anymore as Mollie leans on her and throws more vocal abuse, ref has to shove her away instead of starting the count and Sandy hangs on for another couple of minutes as she gets up at eight but looking totally spent and Mollie wants to finish her off now, straight jabs to the chin before getting blocked. However Sandy's too tired to offer any fightback, needs a knockdown to salvage more overtime, yet she can only clinch the rampant King and that's not enough. At the bell both blondes are locked in another clinch with Mollie pushing her foe against the ropes but the second knockdown seals the deal anyway. Comes back 115-113, 116-112 and 114-112 for you winner through unanimous decision... MOLLIE KING!!!

Post-fight:
Mollie just wrestles the utterly tired rival to the canvas and Sandy rolls onto her back and she's really been tested to the limit here tonight. But for the cheap shot on Vanessa White she could have walked away with a draw; got beaten in a vicious overtime instead and this was a proper grudge fight between couple of feisty vixens with Mollie now joined in the ring by Vanessa and Rochelle but the security staff is there as well and escorting the fallen German blonde into safety moments later. No need for extra abuse though since Mollie gave her some and more already! What a way to open the night of boxing as this contest was Main Event worthy according to BBU TV's Olivia Godfrey.

Both Rochelle and Vanessa lift Mollie on their shoulders and carry her off the ring and the crowd is overjoyed with the action seen just minutes earlier. Bouts going into overtime are at premium in BBU but everyone wanted to see a winner in this one and the fact Vanessa White was indeed avenged by her bandmate puts the proverbial icing on the cake.

Final result: Mollie King def. Sandy Moelling UD12.
